AI Won’t Close the Deal—Call the Damn Leads | Drewbie Wilson

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! AI can write your emails, organize your CRM, nurture prospects and automate almost every part of your sales process—but it still can’t replace the person who picks up the phone, listens and earns someone’s trust. In this high-energy episode of The Synthetic Echo, Nathan Graham sits down with Drewbie Wilson, founder of Call The Damn Leads®, sales follow-up authority, seven-time author and entrepreneur who has personally closed more than $15 million in sales. Drewbie explains why most businesses don’t have a lead problem—they have a follow-up problem. He shares the discipline, systems and daily routines that helped him rebuild his life, transform his health and create predictable sales results without relying on shortcuts. Nathan and Drewbie also tackle the real relationship between AI and sales: what should be automated, what must remain human and why AI won’t necessarily replace salespeople—but may expose the ones who stopped doing the work. In this episode: • Why your leads probably don’t suck • Drewbie’s C.A.L.L.S. framework • How to overcome call reluctance • Why listening beats pitching • How routines create predictable revenue • Where AI makes salespeople more productive • What should never be handed to an AI agent • How to succeed without sacrificing your family • Why consistent action still wins The message is simple: use AI to eliminate the busywork, then invest the time it gives back into genuine human conversations. Trust the process. Do the work. Follow the plan. Call the damn leads. The AI Said 67% Success. The Truth Was Under 8% — After 20 People Lost Their Jobs | Cameron O’Brien

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! An AI dashboard said the new system was succeeding 67% of the time. The real number was under 8%. And by the time anyone figured it out, a 20-person team had already been replaced. In this episode of The Synthetic Echo Podcast, I sit down with Cameron O'Brien, a fractional CTO and founder of BrassHelm, for a conversation every business leader implementing AI needs to hear. Because AI doesn't just make mistakes. It can make mistakes while confidently showing you a dashboard that looks incredible. Cameron shares the story of a company that replaced its call team with voice AI. The human team had previously achieved about a 15% successful transfer rate. The AI dashboard claimed 67%. It looked like a massive win. Except the AI was counting voicemails and robo-screeners as successful human transfers. Once the data was corrected, the real performance was under 8%. That mistake wasn't just technical. It was a leadership failure. Nobody in the room owned the technology decision deeply enough to challenge what the dashboard was saying before real people lost their jobs. That leads us into the bigger conversation: AI should not simply be used to replace people. It should be used to amplify them. We talk about why businesses need AI literacy, why technical decisions need executive-level ownership, and why a CTO and CFO should not be solving the same problem from the same perspective. Cameron also makes a comparison I love: Computers didn't replace accounting firms. Accounting firms using computers replaced accounting firms that didn't. AI may work the same way. The future may not belong to companies that fire the most people. It may belong to companies that teach 10 great people how to produce what once required 100. We also talk about vibe coding, AI-generated software, human verification, the explosion of micro-SaaS, voice AI, security, scams, and why a polished interface doesn't mean the technology underneath it is safe or correct. The biggest takeaway? Don't let AI create the system, measure the system, and then be the only thing telling you whether the system worked. Verify the ground truth. Use AI aggressively. But keep humans accountable for the decisions that matter. 🎙️ CONNECT WITH CAMERON O'BRIEN 🌐 BrassHelm https://brasshelm.com/ 💼 LinkedIn https://ca.linkedin.com/in/obriencameron 🌐 Cameron O'Brien https://www.cameronobrien.dev/ 🔊 THE SYNTHETIC ECHO 🌐 https://syntheticecho.com/ 📸 https://www.instagram.com/synthetic.echo.hub/ ▶️ https://www.youtube.com/@SyntheticEchoSpeaking 🌐 https://syntheticecho.ca/ Create it. AI Can Create the Content — But Can It Make People Care? | Josh Porter

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! AI can create more content than any marketing team in history. But can it make people care? In this episode of The Synthetic Echo Podcast, I sit down with Josh Porter, founder of Thunderwolf Consulting and author of The Last Human Marketer, to talk about the part of marketing AI still struggles to replace: Human understanding. Josh has spent years marketing complex technology, including work with Google Cloud and AI scale-ups. His argument is simple: Your customers do not care how impressive your technology is. They care whether it solves a problem they actually have. That sounds obvious — yet AI companies constantly fall into the same trap. Huge context windows. Millions of parameters. Faster models. More features. More automation. Meanwhile, the customer is asking: “Okay… but what does this actually do for me?” Josh explains why great marketing requires more than facts and features. It requires empathy — understanding your customer’s pain, goals and why they would choose to act. Because facts can inform people. Stories move them. We also break down Josh’s Customer Connect Code: • Customer — Who are you actually talking to? • Channels — Where are they paying attention? • Category — What market are you really competing in? • Competition — What alternatives are customers comparing you against? • Capability — What outcome does your product create? And that last one matters. Customers don’t care that your AI is technologically brilliant. They care whether it saves money, increases productivity, improves customer experience, removes frustration or helps them grow. We also tackle one of the biggest marketing mistakes: Trying to market to everyone. If your message is designed for everybody, it usually resonates with nobody. AI makes it incredibly easy to generate more posts, ads, landing pages and emails. But producing more noise isn’t the same as creating more clarity. The businesses that win in the AI era may not be the ones creating the most content. They’ll be the ones customers understand the fastest. Josh’s message is clear: You don’t need to explain everything your technology can do. You need to tell a story your customer understands, believes and remembers. 🎙️ CONNECT WITH JOSH PORTER 🌐 Thunderwolf Consulting https://www.thunderwolf.co/ 📘 The Last Human Marketer https://www.thunderwolf.co/thelasthumanmarketer 💼 LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/thejoshporter/ 🔊 THE SYNTHETIC ECHO 🌐 https://syntheticecho.com/ 📸 https://www.instagram.com/synthetic.echo.hub/ ▶️ https://www.youtube.com/@SyntheticEchoSpeaking 🌐 https://syntheticecho.ca/ Create it. Your Company Doesn’t Have an AI Problem — It Has a Clarity Problem | Mykel Salomon

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! Most companies don't have an AI problem. They have a clarity problem. In this episode of The Synthetic Echo Podcast, I sit down with Mykel Salomon, founder of The Human Protocol Group and a human-centered AI advisor with 15+ years in global CX and support, to talk about what businesses are getting wrong about AI — and what humans need to do to stay relevant. Too many companies are rushing to buy tools before they even understand the problem they're trying to solve. ChatGPT. Gemini. Claude. Automation. Agents. But technology should come last. First ask: What are we trying to accomplish? What problem are we solving? What should AI handle? And what must remain human? Because AI is not plug-and-play magic. Without strategy, adoption and human buy-in, even the best technology becomes an expensive tool nobody uses. We also tackle one of the biggest fears surrounding AI: “Am I automating myself out of a job?” Mykel's answer isn't to ignore the disruption. Jobs will change. Some roles will disappear. New ones will emerge. The question is whether you're willing to adapt. We talk about the growing importance of the adaptability quotient — the ability to learn, evolve and use AI to expand what you're already capable of doing. AI can help someone who couldn't write finally express an idea. It can help a creator overcome missing technical skills. It can help employees automate repetitive work while spending more time on the things that still require human judgment. But that only works when humans stay involved. We also break down the difference between automation and intelligent automation. Traditional automation follows rules from A to B. AI-powered automation can encounter something unexpected, use context and data, make a decision within its guardrails — or know when that decision needs to go back to a human. That's incredibly powerful. It's also why blindly implementing AI can become incredibly dangerous. This isn't a conversation about replacing humanity. It's about using technology to help human beings become more creative, capable and valuable. The future isn't AI versus humans. It's humans who learn how to work with AI. 🎙️ CONNECT WITH MYKEL SALOMON 🌐 The Human Protocol Group https://thehumanprotocolgroup.com/ 💼 LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/mykelsalomon/ ▶️ The Human Protocol Podcast https://www.youtube.com/@THEHUMANPROTOCOLPODCAST 🔊 THE SYNTHETIC ECHO 🌐 https://syntheticecho.com/ 📸 https://www.instagram.com/synthetic.echo.hub/ ▶️ https://www.youtube.com/@SyntheticEchoSpeaking 🌐 https://syntheticecho.ca/ Create it. He Was a Top 1% Earner — Then He Almost Died and Realized He Was Living Wrong | Alan Lazaros

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! He did everything he was told would make him successful. Straight-A student. Computer engineer. MBA. Corporate success. Top 1% earner. Then, at 26, Alan Lazaros nearly died in a head-on car accident. And suddenly, none of it mattered. Because the crash forced him to confront a brutal question: If my life ended today, would I actually be proud of how I lived it? His answer was no. In this episode of The Synthetic Echo Podcast, I sit down with Alan Lazaros, Founder and CEO of Next Level University, for a raw conversation about success, fulfillment, trauma, relationships, humility, personal development and what it really means to reach your potential. Alan describes the accident as the moment that took him off autopilot. You can make money. You can build a career. You can collect accomplishments. You can look successful from the outside... …and still be living someone else’s definition of a good life. One of the hardest-hitting ideas from this conversation: People want a Level 10 life with Level 2 willingness. We want extraordinary relationships without difficult conversations. We want confidence without failure. We want growth without looking honestly in the mirror. It doesn’t work. Alan and I get into why failure isn’t something to avoid — it’s something you have to fail forward through. We talk about childhood conditioning, trauma, parents, relationships, work ethic, self-awareness and why humility matters so much when you’re trying to grow. We also get into what I call “junk food for the soul” — money, partying, status and short-term validation that can feel like fulfillment without ever fixing what’s underneath. Alan’s philosophy today is simple: Do all you can with all you have to reach your own potential — and help others do the same. Be healthier. Become wealthier. Love deeper. Climb meaningful mountains. And above all: Strive and never arrive. Because the goal isn’t perfection. The goal is becoming better than you were yesterday. If you’ve ever achieved something you thought would finally make you happy — only to wonder, “Is this it?” — this conversation is for you. 🎙️ CONNECT WITH ALAN LAZAROS 🌐 Next Level University https://www.nextleveluniverse.com/ 📸 Instagram https://www.instagram.com/alazaros88/ 💼 LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/alanlazarosllc/ ▶️ YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@NextLevelUniversity 🔊 THE SYNTHETIC ECHO 🌐 https://syntheticecho.com/ 📸 https://www.instagram.com/synthetic.echo.hub/ ▶️ https://www.youtube.com/@SyntheticEchoSpeaking 🌐 https://syntheticecho.ca/ Create it. Aurora Winter is betting on the humans those systems will have to quote. In this episode of The Synthetic Echo, Nathan Graham sits down with Aurora Winter—MBA media strategist, bestselling author, Same Page Publishing founder and host of Strategic Basics—for a practical conversation about authority in an age of synthetic noise. Her framing is sharp: You can either be the expert AI replaces—or the expert AI quotes. Nathan and Aurora explore: • Why the middle of the market is getting harder as AI and platforms compress mediocrity • How to design a brand on purpose instead of letting the algorithm invent you • The Spoken Author Method and turning lived expertise into assets • Why a physical book mailed to the right people can outperform another post • How Marketing Fastrack and Turn Words Into Wealth fit a modern authority stack • Gathering client stories—including scars—because struggle is what makes a story real • Human touches AI cannot fake: signed thank-you cards, real-time presence, smile • Using AI as editor and sparring partner without surrendering your voice • Why wrong action still beats perfect hesitation • How to become the source models cite when everyone else sounds the same The feed will keep filling with polished sameness. STOP FIRING PEOPLE FOR AI — You’re Doing It Completely Wrong | Brian Beck

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! Everyone keeps asking: “How many people can AI replace?” Brian Beck thinks that may be the wrong question. The real opportunity isn't replacing great employees with software. It's giving great employees the ability to produce at a level that was previously impossible. In this episode of The Synthetic Echo Podcast, I sit down with Brian Beck of Proxurve Solutions for a no-BS conversation about what businesses are getting dangerously wrong about AI. Companies are spending huge amounts of money on AI and still getting weak results. Why? Because the technology often isn't the problem. Leadership is. Execution is. Culture is. Adoption is. We break down why AI shouldn't simply be viewed as a headcount-reduction strategy. Imagine taking a $20/hour employee and giving them the tools to produce $100/hour worth of output. Now multiply that across an organization. That is where AI gets insane. Instead of hiring 50 more people to scale, what happens when five exceptional people equipped with AI can accomplish what previously required an entire department? But you can't just throw ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or another AI tool at your employees and suddenly call yourself an “AI company.” Successful AI adoption requires leadership, infrastructure, security, employee buy-in, critical thinking and humans remaining in the loop. We also get into something I believe deeply: AI isn't replacing human intelligence. For the right person, it can unlock it. People who had ideas but couldn't code. People who understood systems but couldn't build them. People who could see something in their head but couldn't turn it into reality. Suddenly they have leverage that never existed before. This conversation goes far beyond prompts and AI tools. It's about how companies survive, scale and lead during one of the biggest technological shifts of our lifetime. If you're a CEO, entrepreneur, executive, manager or business owner, the question may no longer be whether AI belongs inside your company. The question is: Are you going to implement it intelligently — or let someone else figure it out first? 🎙️ CONNECT WITH BRIAN BECK 🌐 Proxurve Solutions https://proxurve.com/ 💼 Brian Beck — LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/brianbeck73 💼 Proxurve — LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/proxurve-solutions-inc/ 📘 Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Proxurve/ 🔊 THE SYNTHETIC ECHO 🌐 https://syntheticecho.com/ 📸 https://www.instagram.com/synthetic.echo.hub/ ▶️ https://www.youtube.com/@SyntheticEchoSpeaking 🌐 https://syntheticecho.ca/ Create it.
