Episode 4: The Stories in My Head Were Distorting My Reality: Lessons From July

July gave me some lessons that I genuinely believe could change the trajectory of my life. In this episode, I’m taking you behind the scenes of three things I found myself spiraling over in July and three massive realizations I’m carrying with me into August. We’re talking motherhood and comparing milestones, the uncertainty of betting on myself and my business, and what happened when I realized I was following someone else’s blueprint instead of trusting my own gut. But the biggest shifts came when I started paying closer attention to the stories running through my head. I realized how often my inner dialogue was distorting what was actually in front of me. I could say I was grateful for my life while simultaneously telling myself stories that made my house, my marriage, motherhood, or my current circumstances feel like they weren’t enough. And then came another realization I haven't been able to unsee: when I didn't know why something happened, my brain almost automatically chose the explanation that made me the problem. What if I’m a bad mom? What if I screwed this up?What if I’m not doing enough? What if this happened because there’s something wrong with me? When there were five possible explanations, why was I constantly choosing the one that gave me the most fault? That question has completely changed the way I talk to myself and the conversations I’m having with my clients. In this episode, I talk about: Comparing my son's milestones to other kids and how quickly that turned into questioning myself as a mom Sitting in the incredibly uncomfortable uncertainty between where I am and where I want to be in my business Recognizing my old pattern of getting more jobs whenever entrepreneurship starts to feel financially scary The difference between pushing through normal discomfort and ignoring your gut because someone else's "blueprint" says you should Why I've completely changed the way I think about hobbies and their role in connection Realizing that my own stories were preventing me from fully experiencing gratitude for the life I already have The ways I was distorting the reality of my home, my marriage, and even my experience of motherhood Why our inner dialogue can make us miserable inside circumstances that aren't actually the problem Catching my tendency to automatically choose the explanation that makes me the villain The question I'm practicing now: What else could be true here? Why you don't have to jump from a negative story to rainbows and unicorns. Sometimes getting to neutral is enough. One of my biggest takeaways from July is that the conversations happening inside our heads don't stay there. They affect our energy, our relationships, our presence, our decisions, and ultimately how we experience our lives. If we can stop automatically choosing the story that says we're inadequate, not enough, or somehow to blame, there is so much more joy, peace, connection, love, belonging, and possibility available to us. And sometimes the first step is simply asking: What else could be possible here? If this episode brings up an aha for you, I’d genuinely love to hear it. DM me and tell me what resonated, what you’re working through, or what you want me to go deeper on in a future episode. And if you’re realizing how hard it is to see your own stories clearly when you’re living inside of them, this is exactly the kind of work I do with my coaching clients. DM me and let’s have a conversation about how I can support you.

Episode 3: The Quality & Texture of Your Inner Dialogue Determines the Quality of Your Life

What if the voice inside your head is shaping far more than your confidence? What if it's quietly determining the choices you make, the opportunities you take, the joy you experience, and ultimately, the life you create? In this episode, I introduce one of the most important concepts behind my coaching: your inner dialogue. I share the personal story that changed everything for me, how a single basketball camp shifted the way I spoke to myself, and how that same harsh inner critic eventually followed me into my career, relationships, health, and nearly every area of my life. We'll explore why your inner critic isn't trying to hurt you, why it often develops much earlier than you realize, and the first steps you can take to begin changing the conversation happening inside your own mind. If you've ever felt like you're your own worst critic, this episode is for you. In This Episode We Discuss: Why I believe the quality and texture of your inner dialogue determines the quality of your life. How your inner dialogue influences your decisions, confidence, relationships, and overall happiness. The childhood experiences that often shape the beliefs driving your inner critic. The basketball story that completely changed the way I spoke to myself. Why perfectionism often begins as a protective strategy rather than a personality trait. How your inner critic can keep you from taking risks and also rob you of enjoying the life you've already built. The difference between striving for more and never allowing yourself to feel enough. The first four steps I use with clients to begin changing their inner dialogue: Notice the voice. Decode what it's trying to protect. Shift the conversation. Check for congruency between your thoughts, emotions, body, and actions.   Key Takeaways Your inner critic is usually trying to protect you, even if its strategy no longer serves you. The beliefs that shape your inner dialogue often formed long before you had the ability to question them. Lasting change isn't about silencing your inner voice. It's about changing your relationship with it. You don't have to wait until you've achieved more to experience joy, peace, or fulfillment. Small shifts in your inner dialogue create new decisions, and new decisions create a different life. Memorable Quote "The quality and texture of your inner dialogue determines the quality of your life." Mentioned in This Episode The concept of the "critical wedge" (your internal "BS detector") The Inside Out movies as a helpful way to think about different internal parts The relationship between beliefs, self-talk, nervous system responses, and behavior Loved This Episode? If this conversation resonated with you, I'd love to hear from you. Send me a DM and tell me: What does your inner dialogue sound like? And if you know someone who's incredibly hard on themselves, share this episode with them. It might be the beginning of a completely different conversation with themselves.

Episode 2: I Thought Sleep Deprivation Would Be The Hardest Part of Motherhood. I Was Wrong.

Episode 2: I Thought Sleep Deprivation Would Be The Hardest Part of Motherhood. I Was Wrong. I thought the hardest part of motherhood would be the sleep deprivation. It wasn't. In this deeply personal episode, I'm sharing my honest experience of becoming a mom as someone who never babysat, never dreamed of motherhood, and was genuinely terrified of having children. I talk about what I expected motherhood to be like, what actually caught me off guard, and the mindset shifts that have helped me navigate one of the biggest transitions of my life. This isn't an episode about perfect parenting or having all the answers. It's a conversation about perfectionism, self-judgment, comparison, and learning to give yourself grace while doing something you've never done before. In this episode, I cover: * Why I was genuinely terrified of becoming a mom, despite feeling incredibly grateful for the opportunity. * The three courses I took before giving birth and how they shaped my expectations. * Why the hardest part of motherhood wasn't the sleep deprivation I had prepared for. * The unexpected pressure to "do motherhood right" and how comparison intensified that pressure. * My experience deciding whether or not to sleep train and the internal battle that decision created. * How I realized I was assigning meaning to every parenting decision and what that was costing me. * The mindset tools I've been using to navigate self-criticism and overwhelm in real time. * Questions I ask myself when I notice unhelpful thoughts or limiting beliefs taking over. * Why giving yourself grace matters when you're learning something completely new. * The moments I never expected to love most about motherhood. ### Questions to reflect on: * What are you making your current challenge mean about you? * Whose voice are you hearing when your inner critic gets loud? * What benefit might your mind believe it's getting from staying stuck in self-judgment? * What would change if you treated yourself with the same grace you'd give someone learning something for the very first time? If this episode resonated with you, I'd love to hear from you. Share it with someone who needs the reminder that there isn't one "right" way to navigate life's biggest transitions. And as always... **Cheers to choosing yourself and never settling.**

    Welcome to AntiSettle Podcast

Welcome to the very first episode of the Anti-Settle Podcast. If you're an ambitious woman who has checked all the boxes, built a life that looks successful on the outside, and still finds yourself feeling exhausted, disconnected, or quietly wondering, "Is this really it?"—you're in the right place. In this first episode, I'm sharing the story behind Anti-Settle, how I went from working as a dietitian to becoming a mindset coach, and the realization that completely changed the way I think about personal growth. After years of helping people improve their health, I realized something surprising: Most people don't struggle because they don't know what to do. They struggle because the beliefs they've carried for years are quietly driving their decisions, habits, emotions, and the life they're creating. This episode is an invitation to stop settling for a life that simply looks good on paper and start building one that genuinely lights you up. In this episode, we talk about: -Why information alone rarely creates lasting change -How unconscious beliefs quietly shape your behaviors -My own journey through perfectionism, burnout, and constantly living in my head -Why change feels uncomfortable (and why that's actually part of the process) -What "Anti-Settle" really means -Why I'm committed to taking messy action instead of waiting until everything is perfect -What you can expect from future episodes Whether you're navigating motherhood, entrepreneurship, a career transition, or simply feeling pulled toward something more, this podcast is here to help you challenge the beliefs keeping you stuck, build deeper self-trust, and create a life you don't have to escape from. Because the goal isn't perfection. It's refusing to settle for less than the life that doesn't excite you to get out of bed in the morning!   Watch this on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ybDv7C0lH8g
