And in that wondering, missing out on actually having fun with them because of the to do list or emotional worry. Do you want your homemaking, creativity, and everyday life to feel meaningful instead of overwhelming? I'm so glad you're here! On this podcast, I'll show you how to turn creativity and hobbies into tools for purposeful motherhood and homemaking. You'll learn practical ways to find your god given gifts through prayer, homemaking and holy habits so that you can then use those to service God, family , and community for a more peaceful and joyful life Hey, I'm Ally. A wife, mom, and creative homemaker, and honestly, I used to believe I had to choose between being a good mother and pursuing the creative things I loved. I was overwhelmed, unsure if I was doing enough, and constantly wondering how to create a home that truly reflected my faith. I was trying to fit faith into the margins, feeling guilty for wanting something beyond the daily to-do list, occasionally the financial guilt of frivolous spending and unsure how my creativity fit into this season of raising a family. Everything changed when I stopped seeing hobbies as something separate from homemaking and started using them as tools to support it. I discovered that creativity wasn't competing with my role as a wife and mother—it was strengthening it. By embracing the gifts and interests God had given me, I cultivated a home filled with beauty, purpose, and opportunities to live out our faith in everyday life. By using my gifts intentionally, I created a home where creativity, femininity, and faith worked together. Instead of feeling pulled in different directions, I found meaningful ways to use my passions that served my family and community, created a peaceful atmosphere at home, and truthfully refilled my cup.

19 // The Secret to Being a Prepared Hostess? Start with Your Pantry

Want to be the kind of hostess who’s always ready to welcome someone in? What pantry staples should I keep on hand to feed unexpected guests without making a trip to the grocery store? How can I prepare easy snacks and homemade treats for my kids, their friends, or a last-minute visitor? How can I become more hospitable as a Catholic homemaker without adding more stress to my daily routine? Have you ever visited someone’s home and discovered fresh cookies waiting on the counter or a simple snack tray ready to share? There’s something so special about being welcomed into a home where food is always available and there’s room for one more person at the table. In this episode, we’re talking about how to stock your pantry for easy hosting and everyday hospitality. I’ll share my dream of creating a home where friends can pop in for coffee, kids can invite their friends over for a snack, and there’s always something simple to offer a hungry guest. Whether you’re a busy SAHM, a Catholic homemaker, or someone who wants to become a more prepared hostess, these practical ideas will help you get ready to welcome others into your home. We’ll cover pantry staples, refrigerator essentials, freezer-friendly meals, and simple ways to serve food when someone stops by. From crackers, pretzels, popcorn, and juice pouches to fresh fruit, cheese, hummus, and allergy-conscious snack options, you’ll learn how to build a hospitality pantry around foods your family already enjoys. I’ll also share ideas for keeping homemade cookie dough and easy freezer meals ready to go, along with simple serving tricks like arranging a few snacks on a cutting board or setting individually wrapped treats in a bowl. You don’t need an elaborate spread or a perfectly organized pantry to practice hospitality. With a few thoughtful homemaking habits and a little planning ahead, you can make hosting at home feel much more natural. As Catholic moms and Christian homemakers, we have an opportunity to make our homes places where people feel welcomed, nourished, and cared for. Preparing your pantry for hospitality doesn’t have to mean buying expensive ingredients or letting food go to waste. Start with a simple inventory of what your family already eats, gradually stock a few extras, and consider making freezer treats or swapping meals with a friend. These small habits can help you cultivate a peaceful, Christ-centered home where there’s room for connection and generosity. This week, I invite you to thank the Lord in prayer for providing for your family and ask Him to bless everyone who walks through your door, helping you see each person as a beloved son or daughter of God.   Next Steps:  Leave a review for the show over on Apple podcast! 18 // After-Party reset: Simple routines to make cleanup easier after guests leave

Do you dread the cleanup after hosting? How do you make cleaning up after a party easier without spending the rest of your night scrubbing dishes? What hosting essentials can help you spend less time cleaning up after guests leave? Do you have to clean your entire house after hosting, or can you spread the work out over a couple of days? Hosting doesn't end when the last guest walks out the door! Between leftover food, dirty dishes, overflowing trash cans, and decorations to put away, post-party cleanup can feel like one more exhausting task on your homemaking to-do list. In this bonus episode, I’m sharing my simple after-party cleanup routine and the practical hosting essentials that help make cleaning up after guests easier. From heavy-duty garbage bags to crockpot liners and disposable to-go containers, these small preparations can save you time and make hosting at home feel much more manageable. I’ll walk you through the supplies I like to keep on hand for gatherings, including how I use trash bins throughout an event, why I buy crockpot liners in bulk, and how having to-go containers ready makes sending leftovers home with guests a breeze. I’ll also share my one non-negotiable rule for post-party cleanup: the food gets put away before I go to bed! Rather than trying to return my entire house to normal in one night, I focus on storing leftovers, rinsing food off dishes, and letting my husband help load the dishwasher. The next day, I take my time putting everything back in order. If you’re a busy SAHM, Catholic homemaker, or anyone who loves practicing hospitality but dreads the work that comes afterward, this episode will help you find a more peaceful and realistic rhythm for cleaning up after guests. You don’t have to sacrifice your entire evening to make your home feel like home again. With a few simple habits, helpful supplies, and a willingness to spread the work out, you can enjoy the memories of hosting without feeling overwhelmed by the mess left behind.   Next Steps:  Leave a review for the show over on Apple podcast! 17 // Stop panic cleaning before guests arrive and start these 5 hosting habits to feel less overwhelmed

Do you avoid hosting because you feel like your house is never clean enough for company? How can you prepare your home for guests without spending the entire day cleaning, cooking, and stressing over your to-do list? How can you become a more hospitable homemaker while letting go of perfectionism and embracing a Christ-centered home? If you love the idea of opening your home to friends and family but dread the last-minute scramble before guests arrive, this episode is for you! As a homemaker and SAHM, it can feel like there are a million things to do before company walks through the door. Between cleaning the bathroom, picking up toys, preparing food, and getting yourself ready, hosting can quickly become overwhelming. In this episode, I’m sharing 5 simple habits to help you become a more prepared hostess, reduce the stress of cleaning before guests arrive, and actually enjoy the gathering you worked so hard to prepare. We’ll talk about practical homemaking routines that make hosting at home easier, including deep cleaning ahead of time, working backward from your guests’ arrival, prioritizing the most important cleaning tasks, focusing on the spaces your guests will actually use, and asking for help when you need it. These simple hosting habits can help you prepare your home without feeling like every room needs to be spotless. Whether you’re a busy SAHM, a Catholic homemaker, or simply someone who wants to practice Christian hospitality more often, you can create a welcoming home without spending hours panic-cleaning. And remember, accepting help with food or sharing responsibilities with your spouse isn’t a failure—it’s part of learning to host with greater peace and intention. But hospitality is about more than having a clean house. As Catholic moms and Christian homemakers, we have an opportunity to welcome others with humility, generosity, and love. Opening our homes requires time, energy, and sacrifice, but it also gives us opportunities to grow in holiness and serve others as Christ calls us to do. In this episode, we’ll reflect on the temptation to idolize perfection and why a Christ-centered home is not defined by spotless floors or perfectly prepared meals. Instead, it’s a home where people are welcomed with care because they are made in the image and likeness of God. As you prepare for your next gathering, I encourage you to bring your hosting anxieties to prayer and ask the Lord to reveal where perfection may be getting in the way of loving others well. Is your husband willing to help but struggling knowing what that looks like when you seem to have it "all together?" Todays episode will go through a mindset shift and habits to help you be better Catholic wife. We discuss my top 3 priority list i give my husband before any event so that I know what he's doing and he knows what is expected.  When you go into the planning of an event, there are usually 3 things that need to occur every time and are simple tasks that you can confidently delegate. As with anything in marriage, managing your own expectations will take you farther than any argument with your husband. The marriage dance is using each other strengths, weaknesses, and finding that balance. (not to mention your children are watching how you handle life together!) 13 // Wondering how to host in a small home? 5 simple tips to use for your next gathering

Is your home really too small to host—or are you waiting for your circumstances to feel “perfect” before opening your door? What could change in your friendships and community if you started gathering people in the home you have right now? How can creativity and a willingness to be flexible transform even a small space into a place of hospitality and connection? Think your home is too small to host? You’re not alone. In this episode, I’m sharing 5 practical tips for hosting in a small home and how I learned to stop letting the size, layout, or imperfections of my house keep me from practicing hospitality. From intentionally limiting your guest list and rearranging furniture to using outdoor spaces and embracing intimate gatherings, we’ll talk about simple ways to make hosting at home work for your family and your space. Whether you live in an apartment, a small house, or simply don’t have a large entertaining space, you don’t need a minimum guest count—or a perfect home—to start gathering people. We’ll also talk about the deeper heart behind Christian hospitality and homemaking: the willingness to open your home and create a place where people can connect, share a meal, and feel welcomed. After years of hosting in small spaces—including gatherings with up to 40 adults and children—I’ve learned that the biggest obstacle usually isn’t the square footage; it’s our willingness to send the invitation. If you’ve been waiting until your home is bigger, nicer, or more “ready” to host, this episode is your encouragement to change your perspective, get creative with your space, and open your home anyway.   If you have a topic you want to hear covered, you can email me at hello@allymitchellcreates.com or send me a DM on Instagram @allymitchellcreates   Next Steps:  Leave a review for the show over on Apple podcast!
