    Episode 1: Fresh Cuts

    Seeking a fresh start in Turners Grove, former journalist and dog walker Evelyn Carlisle takes a job with the local conservation office, where signs of illegal tree cutting on protected land awaken her investigative instincts. After crossing paths with Theo Lambert, an enterprising walking tour guide, and wildlife biologist Jordan Bennett, who shares her concerns, Evelyn suspects someone is illegally cutting valuable trees and covering their tracks. When a massive sugar maple crashes outside Evelyn's house during a storm, a mysterious figure approaches the fallen tree...and her.
