Spill The Cafecito

Anthony and JP

Grab your cafecito and pull up a chair! Hosted by Anthony and JP, Spill the Cafecito is where two gay Puerto Rican friends have the conversations everyone is thinking, but not everyone is saying out loud. From surviving corporate America and navigating relationships to family drama, Latino traditions, pop culture, current events, and growing up as Millennials, nothing is off the table. We’ll laugh, debate, maybe tell embarrassing stories, spill a little café, and hopefully remind you that you’re not alone. Whether you’re here for the laughs, the life lessons, or the occasional “Ay, bendito!” moment, there’s always room for one more at our table. So pour yourself a cafecito…'cuz we’re about to spill it.

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! The Spill The Cafecito Podcast | Episode 13 This week, we're giving you a full download of our separate European vacations, but first, we kick things off with a couple of Hot Spills: Travel Edition. We break down airport arrival times and make the case for why you should embrace being a tourist. You don't have to blend in, and you don't need to feel bad about visiting a so-called cliché city abroad. Cliché usually just means it's good. Then we play a round of Spill it Quick: Pack It or Leave It, where we decide what makes the suitcase and what stays home. Next, Ant takes us deep into his trip through Rome, Naples, and the Amalfi Coast. He covers the food, the drinks, and the overall experience, plus some wild flight drama that felt like sitting next to Satan himself. He also opens up about his desire to keep traveling and how amazing it is to collect memories through photographs. After that, JP walks us through his itinerary for what he calls "Anchor Traveling," from exploring Barcelona to cruising and hitting stops in Italy and France. He shares how he ate his way through Europe one gelato at a time, and what it felt like to finally stand in historical sites he'd only seen on TV, like he'd officially made it. He also tells the story of one little mishap with an Instagram influencer who decided to camp out and take over the whole space for pictures. Not on JP's watch. In the end, we both agree that travel gives you a reflective mindset while also energizing your soul.

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! The Spill The Cafecito Podcast | Episode 12 This week on Spill the Cafecito, Ant and JP catch up on their weekends and give a little taste of their European adventures before saving the full vacation download for the next episode. But the conversation quickly takes a serious turn as we dive into the Cornell University sexual assault case making headlines. Ant opens the discussion with a bigger question: Are we doing enough to teach our boys about consent, respect, boundaries, and the responsibility to speak up when someone is in trouble? JP examines the New York law cited in the decision not to pursue criminal charges in 2024 and questions whether legal reforms are needed to better protect victims of sexual violence. We also unpack Jane Doe's reported involvement and the circumstances that led her to the fraternity house, while exploring what accountability should look like for the seven individuals at the center of the allegations, others involved in the group chat, and Cornell University itself. The conversation goes beyond this case as we examine college culture, drinking, drugs, sex, peer pressure, and the environments that can allow harmful behavior to go unchecked. Throughout the episode, we separate reported facts from allegations and share our initial reactions, recognizing that due process matters, the investigation and legal questions are complex, and more information may emerge. We close by reflecting on the lessons this case raises, the conversations we need to be having, and what meaningful accountability and change could look like moving forward. This isn't just about one case. It's about consent, culture, responsibility, and the values we're passing on to the next generation.

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! The Spill The Cafecito Podcast | Episode 11 Ant and JP are firing up the time machine! This week, we’re traveling through 2008–2020, revisiting the pop culture, music, politics, celebrity gossip, movies, national headlines, and unforgettable moments that shaped the world—and shaped us along the way. But before we start time traveling, we have some Hot Spills to get into. Can adults without children really give parenting advice? And when it comes to relationships and questionable behavior, are we putting a little TOO much blame on our zodiac signs? Because sometimes Mercury might be in retrograde…and sometimes you might just be the problem. Then we’re taking care of some unfinished nostalgic business! We circle back to the foods, snacks, TV shows, fads, and random things from back in the day that somehow escaped our last nostalgia episode. After that, buckle up because the time machine is officially leaving the station. From 2008 through 2020, Ant and JP revisit the major headlines, cultural moments, celebrity drama, music, movies, politics, and events they remember most, and talk about how those years affected their own lives and perspectives. Some moments get deep. Some bring back memories we forgot we had. And some, naturally, require a little Ant-and-JP shade. We’re covering it ALL on the time machine. Grab your cafecito and come travel back with us.
