Abdul El-Sayed, Detroit's Black Voters, and the Democratic Party's Growing Divide

Detroit’s political tensions are taking center stage in Michigan’s heated 2026 U.S. Senate race. On this episode of Political Bomb Show, host Ra’ Sean Blyden examines Townhall columnist Derek Hunter’s argument that longstanding tensions between some Black Detroit residents and Arab American business owners could create political challenges for Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Could these divisions affect voter turnout? Is the Democratic Party’s coalition facing a test in Detroit? And can Republican Mike Rogers make inroads with voters who have traditionally supported Democrats? We examine the political implications, the role of identity politics, and what these arguments could mean for Michigan’s Senate election. Topics covered: * Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign and Detroit’s Black electorate * Derek Hunter’s account of neighborhood business tensions * The political relationship between Detroit and Dearborn * Mike Rogers’ potential appeal to disaffected voters * Identity politics and Democratic coalition-building * The stakes of Michigan’s 2026 Senate election Subscribe to Political Bomb Show for political analysis, commentary, and discussion of the stories shaping America. Terror in the Cockpit: How Flydubai Flight FZ1073 Nearly Ended in Disaster

On September 30, 2026, Flydubai Flight FZ1073 was traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv with 174 passengers on board when an alleged attack inside the cockpit turned a routine flight into a near catastrophe. In this episode of Political Bomb Show, Ra’ Sean Blyden breaks down reports surrounding co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami, who allegedly attacked Captain Smit Machchhar with an emergency axe while the aircraft was over Jordan. The plane reportedly plunged thousands of feet as the wounded captain fought back, opened the cockpit door, and allowed passengers to help restrain the attacker. A reserve pilot then took control, and the aircraft eventually landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. But the attempted attack raises much larger questions. Reports indicate al-Hammami had previously been grounded by Omani authorities after concerns about extremist material and online activity. He later joined Flydubai, apparently without those concerns preventing him from returning to the cockpit. Additional reporting also claims he had considered carrying out an earlier attack on another Tel Aviv flight before abandoning the plan. This episode examines the alleged attack, the actions that saved 174 lives, and the serious questions surrounding airline vetting, international intelligence sharing, security screening, and how someone previously viewed as a potential security risk was reportedly able to return to commercial aviation. At the center of the story is Captain Smit Machchhar, who continued fighting despite serious injuries and helped give the passengers and crew the opportunity to stop the attack. 174 people survived. Now the question is how the system allowed the situation to develop in the first place. Political Bomb Show looks beyond the headline and examines the failures, unanswered questions, and accountability surrounding Flydubai Flight FZ1073. 760,000 Removed From Obamacare Rolls — Vance & Dr. Oz Target ACA Fraud

In this episode of Political Bomb Show, Ra’ Sean Blyden breaks down the Trump administration’s crackdown on alleged fraud and unauthorized enrollments in the Affordable Care Act Marketplace. CMS says it canceled about 315,000 unauthorized enrollments covering more than 760,000 people, with roughly $2.2 billion in taxpayer-funded subsidies at stake. The administration says some of the cases involve phantom enrollees, unauthorized sign-ups, questionable Social Security number use, and broker misconduct. The episode also looks at findings from the Government Accountability Office, which reported that fictitious applicants were able to obtain subsidized Marketplace coverage during covert testing. GAO stressed that those test results are illustrative and cannot be generalized to the entire enrollee population. Ra’ Sean also examines the other side of the enrollment decline: ACA participation has been affected by higher healthcare costs and the expiration of enhanced premium tax credits, meaning not every person leaving coverage is connected to fraud enforcement. 760,000 people affected. Billions in subsidies. Fake applicants, broker enforcement, and questions about who was really receiving taxpayer-funded coverage. Like, share, and subscribe to Political Bomb Show. House Passes Trump-Backed Fraud Crackdown 352–72 — But Congress Leaves Work Unfinished

In this episode of Political Bomb Show, Ra’ Sean Blyden breaks down the House passage of H.R. 9576, the National Fraud Enforcement Division Act of 2026, which passed by a bipartisan 352–72 vote on September 16, 2026. The legislation would formally establish the National Fraud Enforcement Division within the Department of Justice, an office already operating under Assistant Attorney General Colin M. McDonald, who became its first leader in April 2026. The stakes are enormous. The Government Accountability Office estimates that federal fraud losses range from roughly $233 billion to $521 billion every year, based on data from fiscal years 2018 through 2022. The DOJ has already pointed to major enforcement actions, including a nationwide healthcare fraud takedown in which 455 defendants were charged in alleged schemes involving more than $6.5 billion. Ra’ Sean examines what the overwhelming House vote means, why fraud enforcement found rare bipartisan support, and the episode’s larger criticism that Congress can still leave major unfinished business behind even after passing widely supported legislation. 352–72.
