If You Find This Write To Me

On reaching for someone you've never met, with no guarantee they'll ever answer — and the message in a bottle I found as a kid, thrown by a stranger holidaying just along the same beach, hundreds of miles from home. This week's thought: you don't have to know someone to choose them. That's the gift — whether or not it lasts.

    How You're Met

On the moment right after you've embarrassed yourself, and how much depends on what happens next. This week's thought: how you're met in your worst moment often matters more than the moment itself.

    They Just Knew

On the truths about ourselves we never quite announce — and what happens when the people around us understand anyway. This week's thought: some things don't need declaring. They just need living.

    No Name On It

On the kind of giving that never gets a name attached to it — and what it might say about why we help each other at all. This week's thought: not everything you give needs your name on it to count.
