Grounded in Spirit

Sarah Tolson

Have you ever had an experience you couldn’t explain? Maybe you thought of someone moments before they called. Maybe you’ve received a sign from a loved one who has passed. Maybe your intuition keeps nudging you, but you don’t know whether to trust it. Or maybe life has taken you through an experience so profound that you’ve started questioning everything you thought you knew. Welcome to Grounded in Spirit. I’m Sarah Tolson—an evidential medium, Reiki Master Teacher, and someone who still loves spreadsheets, structure, and practical thinking just as much as meaningful conversations about Spirit. I know what it’s like to question extraordinary experiences because that’s exactly where my own journey began. My spiritual awakening didn’t start because I was searching for enlightenment. It began during my young daughter’s cancer journey, when one unexpected experience after another challenged everything I believed about healing, intuition, and our connection to those we love. This podcast is the resource I wish I’d had during those early days. Each week, I’ll share the stories that transformed my own life—from Reiki sessions that changed everything, to the mediumship reading that broke my brain, to the first practice reading that made me wonder if I was losing my mind. Along the way, we’ll explore intuition, Reiki, mediumship, spiritual awakening, grief, healing, and signs from loved ones in a way that feels approachable, practical, and grounded. You’ll also find simple exercises to strengthen your intuition, honest conversations about navigating spiritual experiences without fear, and gentle encouragement to trust yourself—even if you’re still figuring out what you believe. Whether you’re just beginning to explore your intuition, moving through grief, experiencing a spiritual awakening, or simply wondering if there’s more to life than what we can see, you’re welcome here. You don’t have to call yourself spiritual. You don’t have to have all the answers. And you certainly don’t have to leave your logical mind at the door. You only have to be willing to stay curious. So grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and join me as we explore what it means to live with both feet firmly on the ground while remaining open to the extraordinary. Because sometimes the experiences that make the least sense…become the ones that change us the most.

Spirituality Without the Rules: Finding Your Own Way

What if you don’t need to follow a particular religion, adopt a new set of beliefs, or have all the answers to experience a meaningful spiritual connection? In this episode of Grounded in Spirit, I’m sharing my personal journey from growing up feeling excluded because of my family’s religious beliefs to discovering that spirituality doesn’t have to fit inside anyone else’s definition. We’ll talk about questioning what we’ve been taught, finding wisdom in different spiritual traditions, and how my experiences with Reiki and mediumship completely changed beliefs I once held with absolute certainty. I’m also sharing why I believe curiosity, compassion, and an open mind are far more important than having everything figured out. Whether you’re questioning the religion you grew up with, exploring your intuition, or simply wondering what spirituality might look like for you, this episode is an invitation to explore without pressure, judgment, or the need to label yourself. Because you don’t need anyone else’s permission to discover what spirituality means to you. ✨ Ready to explore Reiki for yourself? I’m teaching a live Reiki Level I certification class on October 27, 2026, where we’ll explore Reiki and how you can begin incorporating this beautiful practice into your own life. From Skeptic to Spirit: Awakening, Light Language & Learning to Trust Yourself with Danra

What happens when a scientist and lifelong skeptic suddenly starts communicating with Spirit… and speaking a language she’s never learned? In this episode of Grounded in Spirit, I’m joined by my incredible friend Danra of Soul Illumination with Danra for a conversation filled with laughter, vulnerability, and some pretty incredible spiritual experiences. Danra shares her unexpected journey from trying to disprove mediumship to becoming an evidential medium, Reiki practitioner, Akashic Records reader, and light language channel. We explore what it’s like when your spiritual awakening challenges everything you thought you knew, how to navigate skepticism (including your own!), and what happens when the people around you don’t understand your experiences. We also dive into light language, the importance of finding your spiritual community, the sometimes exhausting process of personal growth, and learning to surrender instead of constantly pushing. And yes, there are dragons, sassy spirit guides, and a few moments that will have you laughing out loud. But underneath all the wonderfully weird stories is a beautiful reminder: You don’t have to have everything figured out to explore your connection with Spirit. You are allowed to question, grow, and discover what feels true for you. And most importantly, you are worthy of love exactly as you are. What Happened Next — Learning to Trust Spirit

What happens when you have an experience you can’t explain…and then it doesn’t stop? After giving my first mediumship reading, I wasn’t ready to call myself a medium. I wasn’t even sure I believed what had happened. But over the next several weeks, the experiences kept coming—and eventually, I realized I needed help understanding what was opening up. In this episode, I’m sharing what happened next: finding a mentor, learning how to work with my connection instead of feeling overwhelmed by it, and beginning the long process of trusting the information I was receiving. I’ll take you inside some of those early experiences—the moments that felt impossible to explain away, the evidence that challenged my skepticism, and the very real internal battle between the analytical part of me searching for a logical explanation and the intuitive part of me beginning to recognize that maybe there was more happening than I understood. This wasn’t an overnight transformation from skeptic to believer. It was messy, uncomfortable, fascinating, and sometimes completely overwhelming. And it became the beginning of learning one of the most important lessons of my spiritual development: trust doesn’t require you to stop questioning. If you’ve ever had an intuitive experience you couldn’t explain, questioned whether you could trust what you were sensing, or wondered what it actually looks like to develop mediumship, this episode is for you. ✨ Learn more about my work, readings, Reiki, and classes at: www.groundedharmonywellness.com ✨ Connect with me on Instagram: @grounded.harmony.wellness
