Still Standing by Heartline Endurance

Dawn Beaumont

Some people choose their hard thing. Some people get handed one. This show is about what you do next.   Still Standing is a podcast about doing hard things — and about what people actually do when something hard lands on them, there's no way around it, and the only way out is through.   Host Dawn Beaumont ran and rode 15,000km around Australia for heart health, across 200 consecutive days with no rest days, raising money for the Heart Foundation and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. She learned two things out there. The first is that the distance was never the hard part. The second is that everyone she met at roadhouses and in car parks and in small-town halls was carrying something just as heavy — and none of them would ever have called it endurance.   Those are the people this show is for.   Every episode brings you someone who's still standing. Some of them are athletes — people who have spent years deliberately practising the one skill every single person eventually needs, which is how to keep going after it stops feeling good. And some of them never chose any of it. Carers. Survivors. Parents. Nurses. People in small towns a long way from a hospital. People who've buried someone, rebuilt something, or got through a year they'd rather not describe.   Chosen hard, and dealt hard, in the same show — because it's the same work. One group just gets a race number for it.   Expect honest conversations about preparation, resilience and endurance, about the long unwitnessed years before anything works, and about the recovery nobody warns you about. Expect heart health, because that's why Dawn started. And expect no tidy endings, because there usually aren't any.   If you have ever kept going when stopping made more sense, you already qualify.   📩 Share your Still Standing story: dawn@heartlineendurance.com 📷 @heartlineendurance ❤️ A Heartline Endurance production. Every heartbeat is worth going the distance for.
