Boner and Mirror Tarot

Molly Davis

Would you snog The Devil? Marry The Star? Push the Hierophant off a cliff? Welcome to Boner and Mirror Tarot; the cheeky little sibling of Bone and Mirror Tarot. Every week, I sit down with a guest and we pull three tarot cards to play one very important game: F*ck, Marry, Push Off a Cliff. It's ridiculous. It's surprisingly revealing. And it turns out that deciding whether you'd date the King of Wands or push the Three of Pentacles off a cliff says quite a lot about how you relate to power, intimacy, vulnerability, and yourself. We laugh a lot. We occasionally overshare. We definitely make some questionable life choices on behalf of the tarot. But beneath the chaos is a genuine love of the cards and the stories they help us tell. We take tarot seriously; we just don't take ourselves too seriously. New episodes every week.

The Eight of Swords is a Rope Bunny

Would you marry emotional maturity... or someone who actually has time for you? This week I’m joined by Irene Lo, creator of Soft Femme Tarot, and for the first time on Boner & Mirror Tarot, my guest brings her own deck to decide our fate. ❤️ F**k 💍 Marry 🪨 Push Off a Cliff This week’s cards: 🔥 Ten of Wands ⚔️ Eight of Swords 🌊 Queen of Cups And somehow... we end up f*****g the Eight of Swords. What begins with Irene noticing the ropes and blindfold becomes a much deeper conversation about fantasy, bondage, surrender, consent, control and what it might mean to willingly enter a space where we don't completely control how we're perceived. Meanwhile, the Queen of Cups offers emotional maturity, depth and the slightly terrifying prospect of a partner who says, “No, we ARE going to talk about what happened at dinner.” And the Ten of Wands? He's busy. He's exhausted. He's looking at his wands instead of us. Off the cliff he goes. Again. We also talk about tarot through yoga, spirituality and personal meaning-making; discover Irene's surprising choice for the sexiest card in the deck; and ask whether the Wheel of Fortune could ever commit to a plan. And, because Irene brought Soft Femme Tarot along for the ride, we get to encounter these archetypes through the deck she created herself; and notice what happens when the imagery in front of us shifts the relationship we have with a familiar card. Play along before you listen Who would you f**k, marry and push off a cliff? 🔥 Ten of Wands ⚔️ Eight of Swords 🌊 Queen of Cups Make your choices before hearing ours, then let us know whether you agree; or whether we've completely lost the plot. Want to play with your own cards? I've created Tarot After Dark, a completely free field guide to desire, projection and questionable relationships with archetypes. Inside you'll find the game from the podcast alongside other ridiculous ways to get into relationship with tarot; because sometimes asking “Would I marry this card?” tells us far more about ourselves than asking “What does this card mean?” Underneath the chaos, Tarot After Dark explores projection, desire, archetype and what happens when we stop treating tarot as something to decode and start treating it as something we can have a relationship with. Download it free through the link in my Instagram bio, grab a deck, and make some questionable decisions of your own. About my guest Irene Lo is a tarot reader, collector and creator behind Soft Femme Tarot, based in Vancouver, Canada. Her love of tarot intersects with her focus on studying the self, her appetite for enchantment and her self-described “magpie gathering tendencies.” She works with tarot as a spiritual and meditative tool for connecting with the sacred and the liminal. Outside of tarot, Irene is also a yoga teacher, currently teaching hot yoga, yin yoga and sound bowls, and chair yoga. In this episode, we get the particularly delicious experience of playing F**k, Marry, Push Off a Cliff using Soft Femme Tarot itself, allowing the particular imagery of Irene's deck to become part of the conversation. You can follow Irene on Instagram at @softfemmetarot. About your host I'm Molly, creator of Bone & Mirror Tarot. My approach to tarot is rooted in depth psychology, embodiment, mythology and transpersonal psychology. I work with the cards as mirrors; symbolic doorways into our projections, relationships, stories and ways of making meaning. Boner & Mirror Tarot is the cheeky little sibling of that work. We take tarot seriously. We just don't take ourselves too seriously.

    It's Not a Party, It's a Debate Team Meeting

What happens when being right is more important than being connected? This week on Boner & Mirror Tarot, I'm joined by professional tarot teacher, writer and theatre artist Cassandra Snow to play Snog, Marry, Push Off a Cliff with: ⚔️ Five of Swords 🔥 Knight of Wands 🍷 Nine of Cups At first, the decision seems suspiciously easy. But, as always, deciding which tarot archetype we'd like to snog, marry or violently remove from a fictional cliff turns out to tell us rather more than we bargained for. Together, Cassandra and I explore positive projection and what the cards we love might reveal about qualities we value within ourselves; the dominance of intellect and logic over other ways of knowing; oppression and power; and the difference between being right and being connected. We also wander into The Devil as an archetype of sexuality and liberation, particularly when encountered from within cultures that have positioned pleasure, desire and embodiment as sinful. About Cassandra Cassandra Snow (they/them) is a professional tarot teacher and writer who has created four occult and tarot books so far. Their latest, Tarot In Other Words, is an essay anthology exploring queer tarot topics, featuring nine guest essayists alongside Cassandra's own pieces, and is out now wherever you buy books. In their other life, Cassandra is a theatre artist, proud Papa, and enthusiastic biblio- and cinephile. You can follow Cassandra on social media at @mx.cassandra.snow or visit their website to learn more. About your host I'm Molly, founder of Bone & Mirror Tarot, where I explore tarot through depth psychology, embodiment and transpersonal practice. My work is less interested in predicting the future or finding the “correct” interpretation of a card, and much more interested in what happens when we enter into relationship with an image. I'm fascinated by projection, symbolism, archetype and the strange, surprising ways tarot can show us something about ourselves. Boner & Mirror Tarot is the slightly more unhinged extension of that work: because sometimes asking “What does this card mean?” gets us somewhere interesting; and sometimes asking “Would you f**k them?” gets us there faster. Tarot After Dark Want to make some questionable decisions with your own deck? I've created Tarot After Dark, a completely free field guide to desire, projection and questionable relationships with archetypes. Inside you'll find the game from the podcast alongside a collection of other ridiculous ways to get into relationship with the tarot. Underneath the chaos, it's an invitation to explore projection, desire, attraction, resistance and the relationship that forms between us and the cards. The Magician Was Born To Do This

What happens when your heart says yes, but your body might be saying something else? This week I’m joined by Jenna Dayle, intuitive tarot reader and teacher, relational mentor and soon-to-be podcast host, for an episode that starts with two Aces and a Magician and somehow ends up exploring chemistry, safety, self-erasure, desire and what it actually means to choose ourselves within relationship. Jenna is faced with: 💧 Ace of Cups 🪙 Ace of Pentacles 🪄 The Magician And must decide who she’d F**k, Marry, or Push Off a Cliff. The Magician feels almost suspiciously well-equipped for the f**k pile. There’s skill, curiosity, confidence, possibility; all the tools are quite literally on the table. As Jenna puts it, “The Magician was born to be good at sex.” Then, there's the Ace of Cups. We talk about chemistry, attraction and the experience of feeling so emotionally drawn towards someone that we begin overriding other information; our boundaries, our bodies, the things we know about what we need. The Ace of Cups becomes an opportunity to ask whether feeling deeply is always the same thing as feeling safely. And eventually Jenna decides to push it off the cliff. Gently. At one point we even have to ask: “Is polyamory on the table?” Apparently three cards simply weren't enough. About JennaJenna Dayle (she/her) is an intuitive tarot reader and teacher, soon-to-be podcast host, and former codependency coach turned relational mentor. At the heart of Jenna’s work is a calling that continually circles back to helping people build a stable communion with self, life and spirit, and recover from the self-erasure they may have experienced within relationships with others. Her work weaves together relating, perspective work, transformation, spiritual principles and contemplation, with plenty of laughter, play and fun along the way; making her a particularly perfect person to join me for some questionable relationship decisions on behalf of the tarot. About Your HostI’m Molly, founder of Bone & Mirror Tarot, where I explore tarot through depth psychology, embodiment and transpersonal practice. I Don't Want An All-Night Buffet

Would you f**k the Six of Pentacles? Because according to us, “it’s giving sub and dom.” This week I’m joined by my wonderful friend Hannah for an episode that takes us from positive psychology to power dynamics, independence to fantasy, and eventually to what can only be described as the Fruity Bush card. Hannah is faced with: 🪙 Six of Pentacles 🌈 Seven of Cups 🌿 Nine of Pentacles And must decide who she’d F**k, Marry, or Push Off a Cliff. We get into giving and receiving, power and reciprocity, fantasy and choice, and the particular appeal of the Nine of Pentacles as someone who has built a rich, full life of their own. The Seven of Cups offers an abundance of possibilities, but Hannah knows what she wants: “I don’t want an all-night buffet. I want a full meal.” There is also an unnecessarily detailed examination of the Nine of Pentacles’ fruity bush, the Tower gets assessed for its distinctly phallic qualities, and at several points I completely lose control of my own podcast. About HannahHannah is a hypnotherapist, speaker and positive psychology student who I first met through one of my tarot immersions back in 2024. Not your traditional “wellness professional”, she brings a slightly more chaotic and joyful approach to taking care of ourselves. She’s also a tarot enthusiast, using the cards to support both her personal life and her work with clients. About Your HostI’m Molly, founder of Bone & Mirror Tarot, where I explore tarot through depth psychology, embodiment and transpersonal practice. The Emperor Is A Shadow Daddy

Is the Emperor marriage material... or just a really hot red flag? This week I'm joined by my wonderful friend Emma from Fiadhaich Yoga as we pull three cards and play one very important game: ❤️ F**k 💍 Marry 🪨 Push Off a Cliff This week's cards: ⚔️ Two of Swords 🎉 Four of Wands 👑 The Emperor Together we wrestle with structure versus freedom, the tension between control and safety, and why the Emperor might secretly be the perfect long-term partner... if you can separate him from your own projections. Along the way we also discuss romantasy, Shadow Daddies, ADHD, why the Two of Swords is nobody's favourite dinner guest, and how tarot gives us permission to play with archetypes rather than simply interpret them. Before you listen... play along!Who would you snog, marry and push off a cliff? Make your choices before hearing ours, then let us know whether you agree, or whether we've completely lost the plot. Download it free via the link in my Instagram bio, grab a deck, and make some terrible decisions of your own. About my guestEmma is a Scottish Celtic ADHD witch, yoga teacher, Reiki and sound practitioner, and founder of Fiadhaich Yoga. Her relationship with tarot and spirituality began in her teenage 90s craft-and-Buffy era, eventually becoming part of a much wider journey through spirituality, embodiment and collective practice. After leaving the corporate world to become a yoga teacher... yes, she knows the cliché... Emma began teaching and holding spaces in 2021 and now facilitates yoga, Sacred Women's Circles and retreats alongside her Reiki and sound work. She founded Fiadhaich Yoga to bring together the practices and tools that have supported her own journey and, importantly, to create community around them. At the heart of her work is the belief that people should be able to explore, grow and be supported without feeling that they need to completely change who they are along the way. And her relationship with tarot remains wonderfully playful: something that began with making stories from the images rather than memorising a list of meanings, and which continues to be woven through her spiritual life today. About your hostI'm Molly, the creator of Bone & Mirror Tarot. My approach to tarot is rooted in depth psychology, embodiment, mythology and transpersonal psychology. The Devil Is Sexy...and That Is The Problem

Would you rather marry solitude... heartbreak... or conflict? This week I'm joined by Victoria from Tarot & Transformation as we pull three cards and play one very important game: ❤️ F**k 💍 Marry 🪨 Push Off a Cliff This week's cards: 🧙 The Hermit 💔 Three of Swords ⚔️ Five of Swords What starts as one of the least romantic line-ups in the tarot quickly becomes a conversation about independence, emotional maturity, the stories our minds create, and what actually makes a relationship sustainable. We explore the Three of Swords as perhaps the most Cups-like of the Swords, where thought and feeling become entangled. and discover its surprising Alanis Morissette, tortured-artist sex appeal. The Five of Swords gives us rigidity, disconnection and fine, you won... but at what cost? And the Hermit emerges as potentially excellent marriage material: someone capable of being alone, having their own inner life, and returning to relationship because they choose you rather than because they need you. And then Victoria chooses the Devil as both the sexiest card in the deck AND her biggest red flag, opening up the deeply inconvenient question of whether the qualities that make someone exciting and desirable are sometimes precisely the qualities that make them a terrible idea. Before you listen... play along!Who would you f**k, marry and push off a cliff? Make your choices before hearing ours, then let us know whether you agree; or whether we've completely lost the plot. The Hanged Man Would Enjoy Being Pushed Off A Cliff

Would you marry authenticity... or the Empress? This week I’m joined by Lane Smith, author of 78 Acts of Liberation: Tarot to Transform Our World, as we pull three cards and play one very important game: ❤️ F**k 💍 Marry 🪨 Push Off a Cliff This week’s cards: 🥾 Eight of Cups 🌿 The Empress 🙃 The Hanged Man What begins as a ridiculous game quickly becomes a conversation about authenticity, embodiment, desire, projection, relationships, kink, astrology, boundaries, and why sometimes the card you push off the cliff is the one you’ve already learned the lesson from. As always, the ridiculousness is part of the point. What happens when we stop asking what a tarot card means and start imagining what it might actually be like to be in relationship with it? Which qualities do we desire? Which make us feel safe? Which ones have we already spent quite enough time learning from, thank you very much? Before you listen... play along! Who would you f**k, marry, and push off a cliff? Make your choices before hearing ours, then let us know whether you agree; or whether we’ve completely lost the plot. About my guest Lane Smith (they/he) is a transgender writer and activist living in Baltimore City, Maryland, and the author of 78 Acts of Liberation: Tarot to Transform Our World (Sounds True, 2024), a book exploring tarot as a tool for personal and collective liberation. Lane also has a personal essay on the Tower in the forthcoming Major Arcana Anthology: 22 Tarot Experts Share Their Stories, edited by Jane Meredith (Llewellyn, 2026), and a piece of flash fiction in Volume 3 of The Rebis, a print anthology celebrating tarot, art and creative writing. Their work brings tarot into conversation with writing, activism, social justice and liberation, asking what our symbolic practices might reveal not only about ourselves but about the worlds and structures we inhabit. Lane is also an unwaged single parent of two young children and, in their own words, a “quadruple Sagittarian menace.” You can find Lane on Instagram at @leftlanesmith, Bluesky at @leftlanesmith.bsky.social, and through their website.
