    The Order of Things

    Episode 005: The Order of Things I love EverQuest Legends, and I still have plenty of Norrath stories to tell. In this episode, I talk about why WoW: Forever caught my attention and how I plan to make room for another show while keeping The Nokturnal Tavern going. Norrathian News covers the September 17 Producer’s Letter and the September 22, 24, and 29 updates. We talk about the plans for Nektropos Castle, Lake Nerius, Rulers of Kunark, and Reincarnation, along with changes to melee combat, ranged combat, Dungeon Crawls, and more. Those future additions are plans announced by the EQL team. For Quick Tips, I head to The Rathe Mountains to farm hill giants for platinum. In Ak’Anon Adjustments, I move my own and my target’s unit frames closer to the action and keep the Extended Target window where I can see incoming trouble. Lore & Legends follows the Weary Traveler, Tippy, and their companions as they help a monk of the Ashen Order. Their journey takes them through Befallen, Najena, Guk, and Solusek’s Eye on the road toward the Robe of the Lost Circle. I also read 4 Apple Podcasts reviews I missed and offer an apology to Maximum_Painting8746 for the tone of my Reddit replies. QUICK TIP: HILL GIANTS In The Rathe Mountains, open the Difficulty/Instance window. Choose Solo, select a difficulty from 0 to 4, then choose Normal for a respawning instance. Pull a tainted hill giant away from your farming area. When it dies, a Corrupted hill giant appears. If you are outside the new mob’s aggro range at spawn, it can remain where it stands and prevent another Corrupted hill giant from appearing while you farm. This is based on my own runs, including a new level 28 character geared from the zones I had leveled through.     Episode 002: Ghosts in the Trees This week at The Nokturnal Tavern, we break down the August 18 EverQuest Legends patch, including the Castle Mistmoore revamp, UI and cursor scaling, targeted charm changes, the Bloodmoon merge, and a helpful explanation of the different instance and zone types. In Ak’Anon Adjustments, we look at how to organize EverQuest’s overflowing chat windows into something you can actually follow during combat. Quick Tips returns with 5 practical ideas, including an auto-forage setup, a creative use for the Quick Buff AA, converting fine steel weapons into High Quality Ore, previewing equipment on your character, and using /yell to help another player who may be about to inspect the floor. Three-Way Theory examines a Paladin, Monk, and Enchanter combination, while Bristlebane’s Blunders revisits a joke about the English language that did not land quite the way it was intended. We also talk about why I finally decided to create this podcast, reconnect with an old EverQuest friend, and open another section of A Weary Traveler’s Journal for the story of the Battle of Bloody Kithicor.
