How Golf Was Invented: The Game a King Made Illegal

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. The very first time golf is written down anywhere in history, it is being banned. This one is a special request from Nat — Nate and Emma's dad. Join Miss Cam, Nate, and Emma on the windy sandy coast of Scotland to find out where golf actually came from, and why in 1457 the King of Scotland passed a law making it illegal to play. Discover what the first golf balls were stuffed with, why a ball maker could only finish four of them in a whole day, why the game was banned twice more and still could not be stopped, and how one course in a little Scottish town decided that a round of golf should be eighteen holes — which is why it still is, everywhere in the world, today. Plus the strangest question in the sport: why is a golf ball covered in dents? Turn your imaginations ON!

How Sunscreen Was Invented — And What People Did Before

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. What did people do about sunburn before sunscreen existed? This one is a special request for Scottie and her brother Wick, Nate and Emma's beach friends. Join Miss Cam, Nate, and Emma to find out how people protected their skin for thousands of years before anybody could buy a bottle — from olive oil in ancient Greece, to the red clay-and-butter paste of the Himba people of Namibia, to thanaka, the golden bark paste that children in Myanmar have worn for over two thousand years and still wear today. Meet the young climber whose terrible sunburn on a Swiss mountain led to the first real sunscreen, discover that modern sunscreen was invented on a stove in Miami Beach in 1944, see how it's mixed in enormous steel tanks like a giant milkshake, and learn the surprising truth about what sunscreen actually does to sunlight — because it isn't what almost everyone thinks. The Secret Life of Flowers: Why They Grow and Why They Smell

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. Why do flowers smell so good — and who are they actually trying to impress? This one is for Emma. Join Miss Cam, Nate, and Emma to discover that a flower is not a decoration at all, but a message, and almost none of it is meant for us. Find out how a flower climbs out of a seed no bigger than a crumb, why petals are really a billboard, why some flowers save their perfume for the middle of the night, and how a bee accidentally does the most important job in the garden while trying to get a snack. Meet the corpse flower, taller than a grown-up, that grows six inches a day and smells like rotten meat on purpose. Meet baby sunflowers that follow the sun all day and swing back east while you sleep. And find out what a bee can see on a flower that you never will. Turn your imaginations ON!

Erling Haaland: How the Boy from Bryne Became a Goal Machine

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. How did Erling Haaland get SO good? This one is a special request from Nate. Join Miss Cam, Nate, and Emma for the true story of a boy from Bryne, a tiny farming town in Norway, who grew up to break the Premier League scoring record in his very first season. Find out about the day he scored nine goals in a single match — and why he was still annoyed afterwards — plus the world record he set when he was only five years old, the two athlete parents who raised him, and the surprising fact that he spent his childhood playing skiing and handball as well as football. Kids will follow his climb from a second-division Norwegian club all the way to Manchester City and Norway's first World Cup quarter-final ever, in the summer of 2026. And they will find out the strangest thing about being a striker: how little time you actually spend touching the ball. Turn your imaginations ON!

The Pink Palace: How the Don CeSar Was Built on Sand

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. There is an eight-story rosy-pink castle standing on a Florida beach — and the story of how it got there is stranger and cleverer than it looks. Join Miss Cam, Nate, and Emma at the Don CeSar, the hotel their family stops at for candy and ice cream. Curious kids will find out how builders in 1924 solved an impossible problem — how do you put an eight-story castle on soft sand without it sinking? — and meet Thomas Rowe, who named the whole thing after Don Cesar — the penniless nobleman from William Vincent Wallace's 1845 opera Maritana, who gets into enormous trouble for defending a boy nobody else would stand up for. Along the way: the movie stars, writers, ballplayers, and at least seven U.S. presidents who have slept there, the famous films shot in its halls, the years it healed soldiers during World War Two, and the day the neighbors refused to let it be knocked down. A true local history adventure right on our own beach. Turn your imaginations ON!

Jellyfish and Eagle Rays: Neighbours at Our Beach

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. There is an animal drifting past our beach with no brain, no heart, no bones and no blood — and it has been on this planet since long before the first dinosaur. This one is a special request from Nate and Emma's beach friends Wick and his sister Scottie. Join Miss Cam, Nate, and Emma for a shallow-water adventure with two of the strangest neighbours in the Gulf: the jellyfish and the spotted eagle ray. Curious kids will find out why a jellyfish is ninety-five percent water and isn't a fish at all, how its sting is really thousands of microscopic harpoons that fire all by themselves, why a jellyfish washed up on the sand can still sting you, and why the old playground advice about peeing on a sting is completely, gloriously wrong. Then meet the eagle ray — a ray with a ten-foot wingspan that flaps like a bird, cracks clams like a nutcracker, wears a pattern of white spots as unique as your fingerprint, and leaps clean out of the sea for a reason scientists still cannot explain. The Mighty Megalodon: The Biggest Shark That Ever Lived

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. How big was the megalodon, really? This one is a special request from Nate's buddy Ragner, who loves sharks. Join Miss Cam, Nate, and Emma on a dive into the warm, shallow sea that once covered the whole state of Florida, back when a shark the length of two school buses swam right over the spot where we live. Curious kids ages 4–10 will find out why a single megalodon tooth is as big as a grown-up's hand, why baby megalodons were born already up to thirteen feet long, how this shark kept its body warm like ours in a cold ocean, and why you can still walk a Florida beach today and pick up a real piece of the biggest shark that ever lived. Plus the forty thousand teeth one shark went through in a lifetime, and the puzzle that stumps almost everybody: why do we find those teeth everywhere, and almost nothing else? Rainbows and Prisms: The Secret Colors Hiding in Sunlight

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. Did you know the color white is hiding a secret? Join Miss Cam, Nate, and Emma to discover that plain white sunlight is really a whole rainbow squished together! Curious kids will meet the brilliant scientist Isaac Newton and his magic glass triangle, find out how raindrops act like nature's tiny prisms to paint rainbows across the sky, learn why every rainbow is secretly a full circle and why a double rainbow's colors run backwards, and solve a wonderful mystery: why no one can ever reach the end of a rainbow. Packed with guessing, hand-actions, and "let's-try-it-at-home" science. This one was requested by our friends Megan, Forrest and Henry! Turn your imaginations ON!
