Don't Fear The Feed

Josh Abrams

Don’t Fear The Feed takes the stories, viral clips, and headlines flooding your feeds and breaks them down—so you can see what actually matters and what doesn’t. Instead of fear, outrage, or noise, each episode digs into real-world news, current events, and cultural moments—looking at what’s actually beneath the surface: what’s real, what’s overhyped, and what’s just flat-out dumb when you look a little closer. No preaching. No panic. Just a little humor and clear, grounded commentary—so you can stop reacting and start thinking. Because once you understand it, it’s not nearly as scary… it just makes more sense.

Don’t Fear the Feed; Warren Sapp Sacks American History

Welcome back to Don’t Fear the Feed with Josh Abrams, the show that challenges the assumptions and misinformation that tends to bombard us in our news and social media feeds.  On this episode, Josh welcomes former NFL defensive tackle, Warren Sapp to argue that “the feed” has always shaped Americans’ beliefs (especially through selective history and propaganda) and challenge listeners to question who teaches the past and why.  Their engaging - and enraging- conversation centers on slavery, Jim Crow, sharecropping, disenfranchisement, the Three-Fifths Compromise, and how “We the People” originally excluded Black people, women, and non–land-owning men. They discuss Indigenous people aiding early settlers before being slaughtered, critiques of the sanitized Pilgrim narrative and Christopher Columbus, and how racist messaging—from KKK pamphlets and radio to modern microaggressions—was weaponized to create new generations of racism.  Abrams recounts investigating the 1960s Mississippi murders of civil-rights activists and the role of police and the KKK, while Sapp cites Florida book bans, Jackie Robinson’s autobiography being removed, and Mein Kampf remaining accessible, asking why Black history is treated as separate from American history.  Thanks so much for listening and as always - Don’t Fear the Feed.  Want new episodes RIGHT NOW? Vacation Friends; Don’t Fear Mexico!

Security lines a mile long! Cartel Wars! Level 3 security concerns!  If you’ve been paying attention to the news, you may have come to the conclusion that Mexico is an unsafe place to travel. But let’s take a deeper look at what’s going on together.  Welcome to Don’t Fear the Feed, with Josh Abrams - the show that challenges the assumptions and misinformation that tends to bombard us in our news and social media feeds.  Maybe you had a trip to Mexico already on the books. So what do you do - cancel your travel plans? Even if you’ve made those plans with incredible vacation friends that you met on another trip, like Josh and his wife? Do you buy into the hype, or decide for yourself? We say, Don’t Fear the Feed and go for it. We go to Mexico, we continue a bond with friends that we met as full grown adults on a previous vacation, and do a little bit of myth busting regarding the Mexico fearmongering that has been throwing a wrench in everyone’s travel plans. Get ready to hear us recount drunken misadventures, karaoke highlights, and the witnessing of a heavily guarded wedding. In the end, we conclude the biggest myths busted by our adventures were TSA chaos, Mexico being wholly unsafe, and vacation friends not lasting. Let’s break it down together. Don’t Fear the Feed!
