    When Life Doesn't Go Your Way

    Blake, Mark, and special guest Daniel Barrett explore how trials, temptation, and hardship can shape our faith for better or worse. Drawing from James 1, they discuss how difficult seasons can produce perseverance and spiritual maturity, and how our response to suffering reveals what we truly trust. Everyone faces trials. It might be sickness, financial pressure, relationship struggles, disappointment, or a season when God seems silent. But trials don't automatically make us better. They can leave us bitter, angry, and discouraged, or they can deepen our dependence on God. The difference often comes down to what we cling to when life gets hard. Daniel Barrett, pastor at Horizon Church in Jacó, Costa Rica, shares from his years of ministry and the challenges of serving a community facing poverty, addiction, and exploitation. Together, Blake, Mark, and Daniel unpack James 1 and its teaching about perseverance, temptation, and becoming mature in our faith. They also discuss how distractions, entertainment, material possessions, and divided priorities can pull our attention away from God. Through stories of people who have faced cancer, addiction, and difficult seasons of ministry, the conversation explores the difference between becoming bitter and allowing God to use hardship to produce lasting transformation.     The Battle for Your Allegiance

    Blake and Mark talk about what it really means to submit to Jesus as King and recognize His authority over every area of our lives. From parenting and sports to money, entertainment, hobbies, and culture, they explore how easily good things can become ultimate things and take the place that belongs to God. What does biblical authority actually look like? Why do we naturally push back against authority, even when God's commands are meant to protect and guide us?     Is Your Faith Built on Jesus or Tradition?

    Blake and Mark explore the tension between Jesus, Scripture, and religious tradition as they unpack the Protestant Reformation and ask who should have the final authority in our faith. In this episode of the B1 Podcast, they discuss why Martin Luther challenged the religious system of his day, what sparked the Protestant Reformation, and what the movement can teach us about following Jesus today.     Stop Going to Work. Start Going on Mission.

    What if your job is actually your mission? In this episode of the B1 Podcast, Blake, Mark, Ally, and Luke continue the conversation from Luke’s message, “Live Life on Mission,” and explore what it really means to follow Jesus and live on mission wherever God has placed you. You don’t have to become a missionary, pastor, or full-time ministry leader to make disciples.     May They Be ONE
