Is Dat Destroyer Dude Dan Now Performing in New Pornographers? - Mass Romantic (feat. John Collins from Destroyer and the New Pornographers)

It's a momentous series of firsts: our first episode covering a non-Destroyer Dan Bejar project. Our first episode featuring a guest. Our first episode with a member of Destroyer. Wait, what--did I just say that our FIRST GUEST is a member of Destroyer? Yes, somehow we got John Collins, bassist/producer of Destroyer and The New Pornographers to come on this show and discuss The NP's debut record Mass Romantic, a stunning and delightful album that rightfully caught fire across the continent and brought the Vancouver scene worldwide attention. This shit whips so hard and it was an unbelievable honor to hear John talk about it!! This episode is unreal, it is so good!!! Did Dat Dude Describe Destroyer? - Thief

Destroyer's streak of exponential improvement album-by-album continues with their third record Thief, an album hailed as a masterpiece by such luminaries as Pitchfork, The New York Times, and Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle. Will da Destroyer describers agree? Or will they say it's dogshit? Or perhaps a more nuanced third option? Tune in to find out. Plus: a bunch more 3D printing talk, the final word re: is Mario a superhero, a discussion re: whether Dan Bejar knows how to fight, and the debut of the classic segment "Destroyer News." Music clipped in this episode: "I Wanna Destroy You" by The Soft Boys "Twin Size Mattress" by The Front Bottoms "Echo Power" by Points Gray "All The Right Moves" and "A Room of One's Own" by Vancouver Nights "Destroyer's the Temple" and "Loves of a Gnostic (Bandmix)" off Destroyer's 7" single "The Temple" "Destroyer's the Temple" solo version by Destroyer from Blaine Thurier's film "Low Self Esteem Girl" "Arrhythmia" by Loscil "Behind the Beehive" by Zumpano "Lausanne Part IIB" by Keith Jarrett ...and of course, all songs on Destroyer's Thief

Did Dat Dude Describe Destroyer? - City of Daughters

We turn our eyes to City of Daughters, Destroyer's second album, and their first album to have real music on it and not funny prank music. It would really have been cool and smart of Dan to have had this be his debut. But we cannot change the past. Plus, we discuss Alternating Currents (a sick ass music festival in the Quad Cities), buying swords, getting into 3D printing, and answer your irrelevant questions! You can send your own non-music-related questions to destroyerpodcast@gmail.com and we will answer them in a future episode!

Did Dat Dude Describe Destroyer? - We'll Build Them a Golden Bridge

It's here: the first episode of Tom Harrison and Riley Hopkins' new podcast, DID DAT DUDE DESCRIBE DESTROYER? On DDDDD, we exhaustively cover all 15 Destroyer LPs in chronological order! Destroyer is a rich and unique band with countless classic songs that has never gotten the love it deserves. This podcast will be a light in the dark, showing the world the greatness that is Destroyer and converting all of you to superfans. How fitting, then, that we start this podcast with their debut record, We'll Build Them a Golden Bridge, a collection of incompetent home demos that f*****g suck ass. We all have to start somewhere folks.
