Should Christians celebrate Halloween? | OMR with Rick & Josh (#0009) Rick and Josh ask whether Christians should celebrate Halloween. They cover trick-or-treating, truck-or-treat events and what "abstain from every form of evil" means to them. Rick explains why his family stopped celebrating when his kids were eight, and Josh shares his own memories and questions about it. Their advice is to be wise and do your own research. Josh quotes the "redeem, reject or receive" idea, and Rick says each person is responsible for their own family. Before that, they compare weight-loss plans (Rick's low-carb, one-meal-a-day approach versus Josh's calorie tracking), and Rick shares his Parkinson's check-up in Houston. They also talk football, midterm voting (including Issue 3 in Arkansas), Theo Von and upcoming guest Kris Logsdon, and end with a candy debate. 0:00 Should Christians celebrate Halloween? 0:16 Welcome to One More Round 1:26 Plan for today's show 2:10 Weight-loss wager check-in 3:05 Rick's carnivore and one-meal-a-day plan 6:12 Josh's calorie tracking and walking routine 8:41 Josh's gout and what to eat 11:29 Rick's Parkinson's visit in Houston 17:51 The trip home and the Bucee's allergic reaction 21:15 49ers, Cowboys and ticket prices 26:32 Midterms and voting 29:08 Issue 3 in Arkansas 32:42 Sherwood city council race and Kris Logsdon's book dedication 36:45 LeBron James and the national anthem 39:18 Theo Von and the WNBA 42:40 Halloween discussion begins 43:19 Trick-or-treating as kids 44:23 Scary movies and Stephen King 48:07 Trick-or-treating with their own kids 50:14 Would they hand out candy today? 51:43 Churches, truck-or-treat and fall carnivals 52:43 The history of Halloween 56:01 "Abstain from every form of evil" 1:00:02 Raising kids and keeping up appearances 1:01:39 Is the world getting worse? 1:04:38 Is Satan behind everything? 1:07:29 Be wise and aware of the hook 1:09:29 Happy Halloween and do your own research 1:10:48 Redeem, reject or receive 1:12:28 Favorite Halloween candy 1:13:30 Wrap-up and sign-off Music licensed through Soundstripe.
