The Mind Control Chronicles Podcast

David Barron

Welcome to the crossroads of influence, trance, and transformation. I’m your host, David Barron—a clinical hypnotist since 1999, and the author behind the pen name Dantalion Jones. For decades, I’ve studied the architecture of belief, the mechanics of persuasion, and the razor's edge between healing and manipulation. This podcast is split into two worlds: Side A: Candid, unfiltered conversations with the people who understand the mind best—hypnotists, cult survivors, authors, and experts in human influence. We peel back the curtain on how groups think, how leaders control, and how the subconscious mind can be programmed—or deprogrammed. Side B: Real, live hypnosis for rapid change. No theory. Just results. Whether you want to quit smoking in a single session, crush crippling phobias, build bulletproof confidence, or break free from stubborn habits, I’ll guide you through the trance work right here in these episodes. If you want to understand how the mind works—and how to change it fast—you’re in the right place.

Narcissistic Abuse & Hypnosis with Doug Womack

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! To get a free hypnosis consultation with David Barron visit http://NewHampshireHypnosis.com Or call (603)589-8033 In this powerful episode of Mind Control Chronicles, host David Barron, clinical hypnotist, sits down with Doug Womack, clinical hypnotherapist, author of Screw Being Special, and specialist in helping people break free from narcissistic abuse relationships. Doug shares his personal journey from heating engineer to hypnotherapist, revealing how hypnosis helped him overcome social anxiety, depression, and fear of flying and ultimately led him to his true purpose: helping others reclaim their identity and live lives of meaning. The core revelation? Narcissistic abuse and hypnosis operate on remarkably similar psychological mechanisms. Doug breaks down how manipulators use love bombing, fractionation, compliance, and emotional conditioning—the same tools therapists use ethically, to trap their victims in cycles of trauma bonding and control. What You'll Discover: 🔓 The Four-Stage Recovery Process: ✅ Remove the Emotion – Objectify your feelings, practice mindfulness, and treat the relationship like a job ✅ Remove the Fantasy – Grieve the life you thought you'd have together ✅ Remove the Power – Take them off the pedestal and flatten the hierarchy ✅ Focus on Your Future – Rebuild identity, purpose, and meaning 🧠 Key Insights: ✅ Why victims feel "stuck" even when leaving seems obvious? ✅ The trauma bond explained through the lens of hypnotic fractionation ✅ How narcissists mirror therapeutic techniques to exploit rather than heal ✅ The "Cult of One" – understanding narcissistic relationships as a cult of two ✅ Why failure and improv can rewire your brain for growth Doug also draws parallels between leaving narcissistic relationships and exiting cults—both require deprogramming, space, and the careful rebuilding of identity. Whether you've experienced narcissistic abuse, know someone who has, or are fascinated by the intersection of hypnosis and manipulation, this episode offers profound insight and actionable hope. Beyond the Iceberg: Models of the Mind with David Barron

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! Contact David Barron at https://NewHampshireHypnosis.com of call (603)589-8033 In this episode of the Hypnosis Discussion series, host David Barron explores the architecture of human awareness. We tackle the age-old question: Is the subconscious mind a physical reality, or just a useful metaphor? Join us as we dissect the "Pre-Talk" used by hypnotists to prime clients, comparing the detailed 45-minute explanations of some practitioners to the minimalist "What do you want?" approach of David’s mentor, Jeffrey Stevens. The conversation takes a fascinating turn when Grey Fox brings up the "evidence-based" skeptics in the UK who argue the subconscious doesn't exist because it can't be located in the brain. The group discusses how to agree with these skeptics while still utilizing the model to create change. Alex shares his powerful metaphor of the "Three Masks" (public, private, and the mirror) and describes his technique of instructing the unconscious mind to "say hello" to bypass the conscious filter. David closes the session with a creative challenge: invent your own model of the mind, sharing his own visual of a three-dimensional whirlwind of arrows representing our conflicting drives and traumas. Key Takeaways: The subconscious is a "squishy" concept, but a functional one. The conscious mind acts as a filter to prevent data overload (holding only 6-7 items at once). Hypnosis is about calming the "arrows" of the mind so we can direct them. Listen to the full session to hear the complete breakdown of these models and the Q&A session.

The Hypnotist's Chair: Alex Greene on Trance, Transformation & the Strange Side of Hypnosis

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! In this episode, David Barron sits down with Alex Greene — a hypnotist practicing out of North Wales since 2011, and a man who once ran an unofficial therapy practice from a corner seat in his university's Students' Union bar. That is, until the local Christian Society complained and got him banned from campus. He relocated to a comic shop. The Students' Union bar's income dropped by two-thirds. That story alone tells you this isn't a typical hypnosis conversation. Alex walks us through his unusual path into the craft: hypnotizing a relative as a young person with no idea what he was doing, running pro bono sessions for students in exchange for drinks, and eventually building a practice in local cafes and coffee shops — no rent, no office, just regularity, a clear table, a corner seat facing out, and the art of building rapport before ever mentioning the word "trance." We dig into: His three-session vs. single-session approach — and why he prefers one intensive session for smoking cessation and weight loss, drawing on Maxwell Maltz's Psycho-Cybernetics and the idea that self-image, not the symptom, is the real target. Ego-strengthening and emotional release — why clients cry, why David sometimes has to compose himself mid-session, and why "feeling better" may be what people are really paying for. The three types of hypnosis — therapeutic, performance (getting athletes into "the zone"), and recreational, including the kink-adjacent side of the online hypnosis world. Subspace and high-control clients — why Type A personalities with an iron grip on their lives are often the ones seeking release in submission. The strange requests — alien abduction hallucinations, missing time, simulated explosions on the horizon, and a client who stayed in a trance for nine hours straight. Cause-blindness and the dopamine deception — how people treat symptoms instead of root causes, and why diets fail when self-image never changes. Alex's parting message — that every person who comes to him already has the internal resources they need. Whether you're a practicing hypnotist, a curious skeptic, or someone who has ever felt the weight of other people's imagined judgment, this conversation is for you. The Mind Control Technique That Changes Everything 🧠✨

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! In this live Friday discussion, we dive into one of the most central — and most overlooked — skills in hypnosis and personal change: dissociation. That's the ability to step out of a first-person emotional experience and see it with objectivity. It gives you distance, calm, and a moment of perspective to evaluate your own choices. I share a real story of someone who used dissociation to respond differently in an intense hospital situation, and then I walk you through a complete guided exercise: choosing a behavior that isn't working for you, stepping outside yourself, observing the consequences without guilt or shame, going back in time to change the decision, and finally stepping into the healthier version of you. We also talk about how NLP and hypnosis are built on dissociation, why a Star Wars cave scene illustrates the process perfectly, and I answer questions from the group — including Graham's "freeze frame" self-talk technique, Alex's powerful account of learning to dissociate as a childhood survival strategy, and a conversational approach for helping someone else acknowledge a problem and gain perspective. And a reminder I'll repeat: don't speak to yourself in any tone you wouldn't use with a child you care about. In this episode: • What dissociation is and why it matters • A guided dissociation exercise for changing a behavior • The connection between dissociation, NLP, and hypnosis • Helping others find perspective with compassion • The importance of seeking help when dissociation is a survival strategy Links & Next Steps: Want to join the Friday live discussions? Last time we talked about his book. This time, he's back with something even more intriguing: a working system for using confusion on the fly. Darren breaks down a framework built on the shoulders of giants — Chase Hughes, John Overdurf, Igor Ledochowski, and even mentalist Derren Brown — and shows how confusion, when used deliberately, creates a window where the mind reaches for the nearest stable idea… and you get to choose what that idea is. We dig into: 🧠 The Ambiguous Validation Loop — Hook, Loop, Bridge, Suggestion, Anchor 🔁 The Echo Technique — listening for key words and feeding them back 🌈 Synesthesia as a Confusion Trigger — crossing sight, sound, and feeling 🍅 The Milton Erickson Tomato Plant Story — covert embedded commands and the man who became pain-free 💬 Live Improvisation — Darren and I workshop real-time examples (headaches, connection, familiarity) 😵 Derren Brown's Wallet Trick — and its striking similarity to Chase Hughes' Captor System 🧩 How to Build Confusion Loops — Job, Identity, Meaning, Seed 🌀 Confusion Twists — Sensory Mismatch, Spatial-Temporal Shift, Reversed Causality, Phantom Referent, Kinesthetic Paradox ⚠️ The Ethics Question — Darren's stance: knowledge is neutral; morality is up to the individual 🎯 Practice Tips — checkout lines, strangers you'll never see again, and "how big of a fool can I make of myself?" Whether you're a hypnotist, a marketer, a writer, a performer, or just someone fascinated by the hidden architecture of human interaction, this conversation will change how you listen — and how you speak. The Art of Self-Love: Reframing Discipline

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! In this episode of the Live Hypnosis Discussion, we tackle the heavy weight of the word "discipline." Host David Barron (Dantalion Jones) argues that we have been looking at discipline all wrong. It isn't about denial—it's about love. David shares a hilarious yet poignant story about a man who put his garbage in the refrigerator to hide the smell, using it as a springboard to discuss how we often hide our "mental garbage" rather than dealing with it. He walks the group through a powerful visualization exercise designed to connect you with your "future self" and explains how to become your own butler. The conversation gets deep with contributions from Ann, Alex, and Evan, covering: How to clear mental clutter by cleaning your physical space. The counter-intuitive wisdom of the soldier who left wet socks behind. A therapeutic method for rewriting your past by speaking to your past self with forgiveness. If you’re tired of beating yourself up for lacking "discipline," this episode offers a compassionate, practical alternative. Linguistic Weapons & Chains

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! Welcome back to the Mind Control Chronicles Podcast. In today's session, David Barron dives deep into the "Linguistic Weapons" outlined in Chase Hughes' Behavior Ops Manual. We often talk about influence, but rarely do we break down the specific syntax required to move a conversation from idle chatter to deep subconscious compliance. David explores the "90-Second Control Map," a rapid-fire sequence of linguistic patterns designed to seize attention and direct behavior. You will hear a detailed breakdown of the five core weapons: Embedded Commands, Negative Dissociation, Scarcity Whispers, Identity Installation, and Emotional Ignition Triggers. David provides real-world examples of how to phrase these commands so they sound like natural conversation. The episode also features a crucial insight from Alex regarding "Context Control"—the idea that even the most powerful linguistic weapon will fail if you haven't properly set the frame. Finally, David outlines three specific "Weapon Chains" that combine these tools for a compounded psychological effect. Key Takeaways: How to hide commands in general statements (e.g., "Some people get this feeling...").Why describing what people don't want to be is as powerful as describing what they do.The role of impermanence in creating urgency. How to chain these techniques for a "Positive Result."Call to Action: If you are interested in joining our Thursday Book Club to study the Behavior Ops Manual in detail, please reach out to David via email.
