Episode 6: Live With It The curation process doesn’t end when the artwork is selected or the design is approved. Live With It is the final phase, where we step back, experience the space as a whole, and allow the environment to tell us what it needs. In this episode of Beyond Curation, we’ll explore how to look at the finished design with fresh eyes, identify subtle issues with balance, scale, spacing, color, and visual rhythm, and make those small adjustments that can take a design from good to great. Beyond Curation Episode 4: Defining your parameters

Episode 4: Finding Your Parameters Once you know what you’re noticing and the experience you want to create, it’s time to define the parameters. In this episode of Beyond Curation, we look at the practical framework that shapes a thoughtful art program, including budget, architecture, color, scale, timeline, and the existing environment. These parameters aren’t limitations. They give you a place to begin and help guide the creative process. When you understand what you’re working with, you can make more intentional choices and curate artwork that feels more connected to the space, rather than simply filling it.

Beyond Curation Episode 3: Finding the Experience

Episode 3: Find the Experience Once we learn to notice a space, the next step is to understand the experience we want to create within it. In this episode, I explore the second step in my curation process, finding the experience. What should someone feel when they enter a space? What do we want them to notice, remember, or take away with them? I talk about how understanding the intended experience can guide the artwork selection and help create spaces that feel thoughtful, connected, and authentic.

    Beyond Curation Episode 2: Notice

Episode 2: Notice Great art curation begins before you ever choose a piece of artwork. It begins with noticing. In this episode, I talk about the first step in my curation process, learning to really observe a space, understand its environment, and pay attention to the details that can easily be overlooked. What do you notice when you walk into a space? How does the architecture make you feel? What are the colors, textures, light, materials, and surrounding elements telling you? And how can those observations guide the artwork that ultimately belongs there? Before we can choose the right art, we have to learn how to see.

    Introduction to Beyond Curation

In this first episode, I introduce myself and share a little about my journey in the art consulting world, what led me to this work, and why I believe art has the power to change how we experience a space. After more than two decades of working with art in corporate, healthcare, and hospitality environments, I've learned that choosing artwork is about so much more than finding something beautiful for a wall. It's about creating connection, emotion, identity, and a sense of place. This podcast is a place for me to explore those ideas, share what I've learned along the way, and have conversations about the many ways art can shape our environments and our experiences within them. Thanks for joining me at the beginning of this new chapter.
