RoostCast 462: Four Hours to Amarillo

The Bills played in the game of the year again, only this time they won! Prescott is out foraging in the Permian Basin this week, but did manage to get enough juice out of his hotel wifi to record with Ryan. Apologies for any slight gaps where audio seems a tiny bit off. After back-to-back poor performances by his own lofty standard, Josh Allen practically dragged the Bills over the line all by himself in a wild 37-34 OT win at the LA Rams on Monday night. There was a ton of good, and a ton of bad to digest from this one. It starts and ends with JA17, but there's much to discuss involving James Cook, Greg Rousseau, Joe Brady and his lack of situational awareness, the Bills defense, Sean McVay's hubris, and then some! Once Bills/Rams is properly analyzed, Prescott & Ryan then take a look around the rest of Week 5 in the NFL. There was a lot of dumb football played over the weekend, and even while the Bills game has occupied a ton of brainspace since, there's plenty of LMAOz to go around. The show ends with a quick Sabres chat. There probably would have been more, but, and this bears repeating, the Bills won the Game of The Year in the NFL. There will be plenty of time for Sabres Chat soon enough. Friendly reminder, the Goose's Roost records a preview episode before every Bills game. Sign up today at patreon.com/thegoosesroost for as little as $1 a month to get the bonus episode. We have less than ten (10) SHOOT! mini pennants from Oxford Pennant for those on the $5-a-month tier. RoostCast 458: Now Is The Time Of Bills

Hoo boy, what a way to begin the 2026 season, am I right? Well, first of all, through Josh Allen all things are possible, so jot that down. The Bills won their first game in Houston for nearly 20 years thanks to an MVP-level performance from their star quarterback, career-best showings from multiple players, and a bend-but-don't-break defense that made just enough big plays in big spots. Ryan & Prescott had their hands full breaking down this game, and even with much to discuss, it was hard to not snap into moments of "The Chris Farley Show" when talking about #17. Y-y-y-you remember when Josh Allen threw a rope for a touchdown immediately after nearly throwing a pick in the same area of the field to the same intended receiver? That was awesome. In a game that seemingly had everything, it did include aspects the Bills need to improve on this season. The more things change on defense, the more they stay the same. Penalties, 3rd down conversions, and miscommunications are all areas of concern. Still, this is the Buffalo Bills we're talking about here. They belong at the top of the NFL. It's not only a short week for the local football team, Prescott & Ryan have a tight turnaround for their content machine. They'll be back Wednesday morning for a fresh edition of The Sports Recorders to preview their Week 2 contest on Thursday with the Lions. A friend of the show who happens to be a Lions fan is lined up to be a guest. WHO COULD IT BE? As always, the RoostCast is free, but the Sports Recorders is behind the Patreon paywall. Simply sign up at patreon.com/thegoosesroost for as little as $1 a month. There are loads of goods for your ears and eyes on the site, and we'll be there every step of the way for what could be a magical season for the Buffalo Bills. Won't you join us? JOIN US.
