Grace Without Reverence | Have We Lost the Fear of God?

What happens when the wounds we carry begin to shape how we see God, how we treat others and how we show up in the body of Christ? In our next episode of Liora Live, we’re having an honest and challenging conversation about healing, father wounds, the fear of God and the state of the church. We explore what it really means to walk with God when salvation is only the beginning of our journey, and why accepting Jesus doesn’t mean we no longer have wounds that need healing. We talk about the reality that some wounds run deeper than we realise. From father-daughter relationships and the impact they can have on how we relate to our Heavenly Father, to anger, bitterness and pain that can be carried from one generation to the next, we unpack how our experiences can shape our hearts, our relationships and even our understanding of God. We’re reminded that God doesn’t just want us to bring Him our requests; He also wants access to the wounded places within us that need His healing. But we also have to be honest about our own responsibility. Not everything we struggle with is the enemy. Sometimes, it’s our own anger, our bitterness, our attitudes and the things we have refused to confront. The enemy may exploit our wounds, but when we leave them unhealed, they can become infected and begin to affect the people around us. We explore why listening to the Holy Spirit is essential to recognising what needs to change within us and allowing God to do the deeper work of healing. And then we turn our attention to the church. Has the church stopped being a place of healing and become a talent show, where wounded people perform on a platform without ever being discipled, corrected or truly known? We talk about how the pulpit can become a stage, how church can become more about appearances and motivational messages than genuine transformation, and why people need more than a Sunday service. They need community, accountability, discipleship and the opportunity to share their stories without feeling they have to hide their struggles. We also ask some difficult questions about the fear of God and the place of grace in the modern church. Have we become so comfortable talking about forgiveness that we have lost our reverence for the One who forgave us? Have we made Jesus' death and resurrection more palatable, forgetting the sacrifice that made our salvation possible? And have we become so accustomed to the message of God's love that we have forgotten that we are called to live holy lives, led by the Holy Spirit rather than simply bringing Him along with us while we continue to live as we please? Because grace was never an invitation to remain unchanged. We reflect on our recent collective fast, sharing how it went and what it means to walk in obedience even when we don't experience the fire or encounter God in the way we expected. Sometimes, God may not reveal the reason behind what He asks us to do, but our responsibility is to listen, trust Him and obey. Ultimately, this conversation is about more than identifying what is wrong with the church or recognising the wounds we carry. It's about returning to the heart of God, recovering our reverence for Him and becoming a body of Christ that reflects His character. So the question is: Are we allowing God to heal our wounds and transform our hearts, or have we become so comfortable in our brokenness that we've forgotten what He has called us to be? Praying, Fasting, Worshipping… So What? | Beyond Religious Ritual

What happens when we stop treating spiritual disciplines as rituals and start allowing God to transform us through them? In our next episode of Liora Live, we’re having an honest conversation about prayer, fasting and worship - and why these spiritual disciplines are so much more than things we do as Christians. They’re part of how we grow in our relationship with God, are transformed by His Spirit and become who He has called us to be. We talk about how worship shifts our focus from ourselves to Him, changing not only the atmosphere around us but the posture of our hearts. We explore prayer as an invitation to bring our whole selves before God - not to manipulate Him or change His mind, but to pour out our hearts, cast our burdens on Him and grow in genuine relationship with Him. We also get real about fasting: the discomfort, the battle with our flesh and the way it reveals just how much we rely on our own feelings and desires. From Adella’s experience of a seven-day water fast to recognising the importance of being led by the Holy Spirit, we unpack how fasting isn’t about earning God’s favour or ticking a religious box. It’s about surrender, making room for the Spirit to work in us and allowing God to realign our hearts with His will. And we’re reminded that these disciplines aren’t simply about what we know, but who we’re becoming. As we remain connected to the Vine, God develops our character, produces fruit in our lives and prepares us to be vessels He can use for His purposes. We’re called to be more than people who know the Word - we’re called to be people who live it, walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and become all that God has called us to be. We also talk about the importance of finding a church community where we can grow through corporate worship, fellowship and being built up alongside other believers. And this conversation doesn’t stop at the episode. We’re coming together for a collective fast, creating space to seek God, surrender and realign ourselves with Him. Because prayer, fasting and worship aren’t just things we do when we need something from God. They’re part of a life surrendered to Him. I Know You Can, So Why Won’t You? | Faith In The Waiting

What happens when waiting on God becomes frustrating, and taking matters into our own hands isn’t the answer? In our eighth episode of Liora Live, we have an honest conversation about faith in the waiting, spiritual maturity and what it really means to depend on God. We explore how easily we can forget what God has already done when we’re waiting for Him to do something bigger. Looking at the Israelites’ journey from Egypt to the Promised Land, we ask whether we can become so accustomed to God’s miracles that we struggle to trust Him when He calls us to step out in faith. We talk about entitlement in our relationship with God, questioning His timing and why we sometimes struggle to surrender when we know He is able. Because knowing what God can do and trusting Him while we wait are two very different things. We also explore the reality of waiting seasons. They can be lonely, painful, frustrating and frightening. Sometimes, instead of laying our burdens at His feet, we pick them up and exhaust ourselves trying to figure everything out. We talk about the importance of prayer, godly community and surrendering the expectations we’ve created about how God should move. What if the waiting isn’t wasted? Just as a tree grows its roots before its fruit appears, God can be doing a deep work in us long before we see the evidence. We explore the refining process, how trials expose where our dependence truly lies, and why the very battles we face can become testimonies that strengthen others and help us know God more deeply. But waiting on God doesn’t mean becoming passive. We discuss the danger of relying on our own strength, the importance of abiding in Christ, hiding His Word in our hearts and putting on the full armour of God. Christianity isn’t a soft life, and we cannot become so consumed by our circumstances that we forget what God has called us to do. We have a responsibility to stand firm, strengthen one another and live out our faith with conviction. Because sometimes, the season we desperately want to escape is the very season God uses to make us more like Jesus. So the question is: What are you doing in the waiting? Are you allowing God to deepen your roots and strengthen your faith, or are you exhausting yourself trying to take control? Don’t miss out on all things Liora Live! Searching for Something More | When the World Isn’t Enough

We all put our faith in something. But what happens when the things we turn to for fulfilment, comfort and hope still leave us searching for more? In this episode of Liora Live, we’re having an honest conversation about the things we look to when life feels empty, when we’re searching for answers, and when what once brought us comfort no longer seems to be enough. We live in a world that encourages us to look within ourselves for answers, to create our own reality and to believe that we have everything we need within us. From our achievements and independence to manifestation and New Age spirituality, there are so many places we can turn in the pursuit of peace, purpose and fulfilment. But what happens when the pressure to have everything figured out becomes exhausting? And what happens when the things we hoped would bring us peace leave us searching even deeper? We also explore how grief and brokenness can shape our spiritual journeys. When we’re hurting, we naturally want something to hold on to - something that gives us comfort, reassurance or hope. But in our search for answers, how do we discern what we’re placing our trust in? And where does Jesus fit into all of this? We reflect on the incredible truth that God is not distant from our pain. Jesus wept. He experienced grief and entered into our humanity. He is Emmanuel, God with us - a God who understands our weakness and draws near to us in our brokenness. Because there’s a difference between feeling weary and having no hope. As Christians, we can feel disappointed, exhausted and even frustrated with God, but we can return to the truth of who He is, even when our circumstances don’t make sense. We also talk about the importance of knowing God for ourselves, discovering His character through the different seasons of our lives, and allowing our testimonies to become a way of sharing His love with others. The very experiences that once left us searching can become opportunities to encourage someone else and point them towards the hope we’ve found in Christ. Sharing the Good News isn’t just about what we say. It’s about how we live, how we love and how we meet people where they are. So, what are you putting your faith in? I'm Tired But I'll Keep Going... | When Striving Meets Faith

What happens when being tired becomes normal, but stopping doesn’t? In our sixth episode of Liora Live, we have an honest conversation about striving, productivity, burnout and the ways we can become so used to constantly doing that we forget how to simply be. We talk about being “high functioning”, the pressure to keep going and how easily our value can become attached to what we produce, achieve and accomplish. We explore why rest can feel uncomfortable, especially when we don’t feel like we’ve done enough or we’re not where we want to be yet. From work and family to church and everyday responsibilities, we ask whether we’re genuinely pouring into everything God has given us, or whether we’re trying to give everything 100% when that simply isn’t possible. And sometimes, it isn’t the devil. Sometimes we’re tired because we’ve done too much. We talk about the ways we can spiritualise our exhaustion, when actually our bodies are telling us to stop. Because sometimes falling asleep while reading our Bible isn’t a spiritual attack - sometimes it’s just because we needed to rest. We also go deeper into what we use as our source of comfort. What do we turn to when we’re frustrated, overwhelmed or facing difficult emotions? And can we sometimes replace one comfort with another, just with a Christian bow on it? We explore what happens when we stay busy rather than sit with God, especially when we already know what He might say. We talk about burnout, chronic stress and the reality that this isn’t just a spiritual issue. It can affect our bodies, our minds, our relationships and our families. We also explore what it means to surrender our rest, embrace Sabbath and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in how we spend our time. Because sometimes we overperform for God when He simply wants us to come to Him honestly. A cry, a conversation, a moment at His feet. We don’t always need to have the perfect prayer or the perfect response. Sometimes we just need to be still and know that He is God. So the question is: Are you striving in your own strength, or are you learning to surrender? Don’t miss out on all things Liora Live! Everyone’s Doing It… | When Culture Meets Christ

What are we normalising simply because everyone else is doing it? In our fifth episode of Liora Live, we have an honest conversation about what it means to be set apart as followers of Christ, and the things we can begin to normalise simply because they have become normal in the world around us. We talk about personal conviction, the Holy Spirit and what happens when God makes us uncomfortable about something we genuinely enjoy. From music and entertainment to social media, culture and the environments we place ourselves in, we explore what it looks like to put Christ above our own desires and ask whether everything we can do is necessarily something we should do. We explore the tension between our culture and our identity in Christ, and whether there are moments when we can allow culture, tradition or our old lives to take a place that belongs to Jesus. Because yes, God is everywhere - but that doesn’t necessarily mean we need to be everywhere. And we go deeper into what it means to actually produce fruit. Being blessed isn’t the same as being fruitful. A house, a husband, a career, money or success aren’t necessarily evidence of spiritual maturity. The fruit of the Spirit is about what Christ is producing in us - and ultimately, what others are able to receive from what He’s producing in us. We talk about what it means to grow in Christ, to move beyond spiritual “milk”, to be pruned, stretched and challenged through obedience, and to recognise when we might look like a Christian without actually producing the fruit of one. Because following Jesus isn’t just about what we say we believe. It’s about how we live. It’s about what we’re allowing into our hearts. It’s about what we’re becoming. And it’s about whether people can actually see Christ in us. So the question is: Does your life reflect Christ, or are you simply normalising what everyone else is doing? Doing God’s Will | When God’s Plan Interrupts Yours

Doing God’s Will | When God’s Plan Interrupts Yours What happens when God’s plan doesn’t look like yours? Sometimes, doing God’s will sounds simple - until His will asks us to do something we don’t feel like doing. In this episode of Liora Live, we start with Jonah - because if we’re honest, we were Jonah too. We talk about what happens when God’s plans interrupt our own, and how easily our feelings, preferences and understanding can become louder than God’s voice. We explore the tension between what we feel and what God has said, why our feelings can’t be King and what it looks like to let go of our own plans and get on board with His. We also talk about being intentional about including God in our everyday lives, learning to recognise His voice, and the questions that come when we’re wondering, “Did I actually hear God?” Because hearing God isn’t just about one big moment of revelation. It’s about relationship. The more we communicate with our Father, the more familiar His voice becomes. And sometimes, doing God’s will isn’t about understanding the whole plan. It’s simply about trusting Him enough to get on board. Don’t miss out on all things Liora Live! Did God Really Say? | The Battle for a Woman's Identity

What happens when the enemy gets you to question what God has said? In our second episode of Liora Live, we go back to the beginning - to Eve, the garden, and the subtle question that changed everything: “Did God really say…?” We talk about the battle for a woman’s identity and how easily the enemy can distort what God has created us to be. From the messages society sends women about who we need to be, to the ways our own experiences, disappointments and wounds can shape us, we explore how we can sometimes become a version of ourselves that was built for survival rather than the woman God actually called us to be. And we go deeper into why being saved doesn’t necessarily mean we’re healed. What patterns have we carried with us? What behaviours have become normal to us? What thought processes are shaping our identity? And how active are we actually being in our own healing? This conversation isn’t about blaming women for the things we’ve experienced. It’s about recognising what has shaped us, bringing it before God and being willing to allow Him to transform us. Because sometimes the question isn’t “Who am I?” It’s “Who has God called me to be - and what has gotten in the way?” Don’t miss out on all things Liora Live!
