Clemson vs Charleston Southern Preview and Other News

Clemson needs a get-right game, and Charleston Southern might be the chance to get one. On this episode of Inside the Valley, William and Dustin break down the matchup, the latest Clemson news, and what has to happen on Saturday. In this episode: Clemson news: RJ Bounce Hudson decommits and takes a visit to Texas. Easton Ware slides in at right guard, and we dig into what that says about Grant Wise and Ronan O’Connell and why Ware has to be on the field. Corian Gipson is out, Donovan Starr gets a bigger role, and Marcell Gipson may see some work. Scouting Charleston Southern (3-3): The Buccaneers run a spread offense with two QBs, Lek Powell and Jared Echols, and Echols is the bigger running threat. We cover the weapons, including Mekhi Campfield, Quay Kindell, and Hakeem Waters. We also look at a defense led by linebackers Steve Zayachkowsky, Tristan Lennon, and Joshua Modupe. Their wins over Citadel and SC State, and their losses to Lindenwood, Georgia Southern, and Gardner-Webb, tell the story of their season. Clemson by the numbers: A look at where the offense and defense rank nationally, including third down, the red zone, sacks allowed, and TFLs allowed. We also check in on the guys producing: Gideon Davidson, Bryant Wesco, Will Heldt, Ashton Hampton, Elliot Washington II, and more. Keys to the game: Dustin wants the run game in rhythm, no turnovers, and organic explosives with no forced gimmicks, plus valuable reps and no playing down to the competition. William wants a 40+ point night, three passing TDs, a balanced 500-yard day, 10 TFLs, under 200 total yards allowed, and under 50 rushing yards allowed. Miami Recap & Clemson Bye Week State of the Union

Miami 41, Clemson 13. It wasn't pretty, and we're not going to pretend otherwise, but there was still nice things to see. On this episode of Inside the Valley, William and Dustin break down the loss in Miami and take stock of where Clemson stands heading into the bye week. Miami Recap We revisit our pregame keys to see what hit and what didn't. Dustin finished 1 for 3 on offense and 1 for 2 on defense, while William went 1 for 3 on offense and 0 for 3 on defense (the 10 TFL prediction is still coming, we swear). Tait Reynolds connected on three 20+ yard completions, but the run game managed just 1.77 yards per carry Our tight ends were targeted five times for a combined 10 yards Two turnovers, both late in the fourth quarter Miami averaged 5.49 yards per carry, and the defense had only 2 TFLs State of the Union Five games in, we look at where this team ranks nationally and how it compares to the same point last season: Total offense: 121st at 19.4 points per game (down from 23.4 in 2025) Passing offense: 107th, with 17 sacks allowed, 129th nationally Rushing offense: 97th, with 42 TFLs allowed, 136th nationally 3rd down offense: 124th at 31.5% Total defense: 98th at 25.8 points allowed per game (up from 20.2 in 2025) Rush defense: 102nd at 4.73 yards per carry Red zone defense: 114th We also hand out some credit to the guys who are playing well, including Will Heldt (4 sacks and 6.5 TFLs, both team-best), Ashton Hampton (9 PDs, tops in the country), Elliot Washington II (3 INTs), and Bryant Wesco and Gideon Davidson on offense. What's next? We discuss what needs to change during the bye week and what the Tigers have to figure out for the second half of the season.
