    Sam LaPorta is 'all good' if he's not playing for Lions next year

    It's not every day that an athlete shares how they ACTUALLY feel in 2026, but Lions tight end Sam LaPorta did just that this week. On a recent episode of the popular podcast "Pardon My Take," LaPorta made headlines when discussing his contract, saying in part, "in three months if I don't get to wear the Honolulu Blue and play for the Lions anymore, it's going to be all good. I'll get paid somewhere else."  Did LaPorta sound like a mercenary when he made these comments? And was he right about what he said?     Is MSU football too broke? And is Kyle Whittingham right fit for Michigan?

    It's been a week of nonstop noise for Michigan football coming off a second straight loss for the Wolverines. From Jake Butt to Devin Gardner to Urban Meyer, everyone has had something to say about Michigan's start under Kyle Whittingham, but does the first-year coach have the right tone to match the energy in Ann Arbor? Shawn Windsor and Andrew Birkle break it all down on the Freep Sports Show. Then, Michigan State football is 2-3 after a blowout loss against Wisconsin in Week 5 and Pat Fitzgerald's first season is starting to look like a mess. With homecoming on the docket, MSU athletic director Dan Bartholomae addressed fans in a letter and promised better funding for the football program.
