Voice Notes to the Universe

House of the Mystic

You have entered the house of the mystic. All are welcome. Except vampires. F**k vampires. We don't like their kind here. Unless, of course, they pinky promise not to bite. Though I cannot promise the same. Anyhoo... Welcome. Fair warning: it's a little messy in here. A little chaotic. Not always fit for company. But it's lived-in. It's warm. It's cozy. And it's safe enough to be human in. These are my voice notes to the Universe. Recorded on my phone, wherever I happen to be when something moves through me: a thought, a question, a realization, a story, some shit I'm trying to work through, or one of those moments when the Universe whispers something and I think: Well, f**k. I should probably press record. This is a podcast about navigating our humanness. The rawness. The messiness. The beauty. The shadow and the light. The sacred and the profane. The moments of profound clarity and the moments when we don't have a f*****g clue what we're doing. I talk about spirituality. Healing. Relationships. Sex. Shame. Addiction. Creativity. Grief. Our bodies. The nervous system. The Universe. And whatever else wanders through the door that day. Sometimes I start recording because I think I know what I want to talk about. Ten minutes later I'm standing somewhere completely different wondering how the f**k we got here. That's kind of the point. I don't have all the answers. In fact, I don't believe it's my job to have all the answers. I'm much more interested in the questions. Can shadow and light exist at the same time? Can something be sacred and completely f*****g ridiculous? Can I be deeply spiritual and still make questionable decisions? Can I love the woman I'm becoming without rejecting the woman I am today? Can I hold all of it—the divine and the deeply human—and somehow become the devil's advocate and divine intervention in one seamless breath? I don't know. Let's find out. There are no polished versions of healing here. No pretending I've figured it all out before I press record. You may hear birds. Cars. Wind. People. Long pauses. Me forgetting what the f**k I was talking about. Possibly an inappropriate joke. Occasionally an existential crisis. That's life happening in real time. Because I'm beginning to believe the mess isn't interrupting the transmission. Sometimes the mess is where the transmission happens. The house of the mystic isn't a pristine temple where everyone whispers and pretends they've transcended being human. Apparently there's weed in the kitchen, beet juice on the counter, somebody's crying in one room, somebody's contemplating the nature of existence in another, and I've wandered off halfway through a sentence because Spirit just showed me a tree. So come in. Bring your questions. Your contradictions. Your shadow and your light. You don't have to leave your humanness at the door. Actually, I'd prefer you didn't. Just remember the house rules. Be curious. Be kind. Be human. And for f**k's sake, don't bite anybody without consent. These are my voice notes to the Universe. And somehow, they found their way to you.

Voice Note #129 — You Are My King. You Are My Emperor.

VOICE NOTE #129 — You Are My King. You Are My Emperor. Something beautiful is happening within me. A coming together. A softening. A remembrance. After years of inner exploration, spiritual awakening, and learning to love the pieces of myself I once struggled to understand, I'm beginning to experience something that feels like a deeper union within myself. And it's making me look at everything differently. Especially the relationship between my inner divine masculine and divine feminine. Because for a very long time, one part of me has been running the show. Protect. Provide. Work harder. Keep going. Good Lord, that man is exhausted. And perhaps it's time for my feminine to return the love, compassion, and devotion he's spent so long giving her. What would happen if the protector finally allowed himself to be protected? If doing and being could exist in harmony? If the king and the oracle learned to listen to one another? And what might that inner relationship teach us about the love and partnership we create in the world around us? I don't have all the answers. But I am beginning to see something beautiful. And somewhere along the way, apparently, I've also become the Web Whisperer. Anyhoo. 😂 TAKEAWAYS Awakening can be an invitation to remember, question, listen, and expand our perspectivesUnconditional love and healthy boundaries can coexistMasculine and feminine energies can be explored as complementary qualities within ourselves, regardless of genderThe part of us that protects and provides may also need rest, compassion, and supportInner union can offer a meaningful framework for exploring reciprocity, devotion, and partnership CHAPTERS 00:02 — A Beautiful Inner Union 02:50 — Awakening, Remembrance, and Expanding Consciousness 06:08 — Unconditional Love, Boundaries, and Forgiveness 08:56 — Finding Reverence in the Difficult Moments 12:34 — Understanding the Masculine and Feminine Within 17:57 — Giving My Feminine the Love She Needed 19:12 — My Soft Girl Era and the Web Whisperer 21:35 — When the Protector Doesn't Know How to Rest 23:30 — The King, the Oracle, and Divine Partnership 26:16 — A Golden Infinity Loop of Love and Reciprocity Episode description adapted from my original podcast transcript with AI-assisted editing.

Voice Note #128 — I'm Open to Perhaps Entertaining the Thought... of Dating?

VOICE NOTE #128 — I'm Open to Perhaps Entertaining the Thought... of Dating? Apparently, I'm considering dating again. Good Lord. I'm a hopeless romantic. A lover girl. A woman who loves love. And also a woman who might need a minute if someone actually gets close enough to love her. Because here's the thing. I want a man who's grounded, intentional, emotionally available, consistent, and willing to work through the uncomfortable stuff. Sounds reasonable, right? Until I start asking myself whether I'm embodying those same qualities within my own life. Well, shit. And then there's the rather inconvenient realization that the kind of man who might actually make me feel safe is also the kind of man who intimidates the absolute hell out of me. So now I'm wondering... What does it look like to let someone get close when part of me still wants to run? How do I practice intimacy when I've spent so much time protecting myself from it? And can two imperfect people come together, acknowledge their wounds, and choose to explore something beautiful anyway? I don't know. But apparently, I'm a little more open to finding out. Good golly, Miss Molly. TAKEAWAYS Wanting intimacy and feeling afraid of it can coexistThe qualities we desire in a partner can invite us to explore those same qualities within ourselvesFamiliarity and emotional safety aren't necessarily the same thingHealing in solitude is different from practicing vulnerability with another personHonest communication, consistency, and accountability can help create space for connection CHAPTERS 00:02 — Dating Apps, Lover Girls, and Reciprocity 02:09 — Lowering the Walls, Brick by Brick 04:35 — Coyotes, Cemeteries, and Dating in the Wild 06:24 — What Do I Actually Want in a Partner? 09:45 — Does My Inner Masculine Embody Those Qualities? 13:16 — Two Different Roads to Love 16:15 — Why Does a Grounded Man Intimidate Me? 17:46 — I Might Pull Away, But Please Don't Go Episode description adapted from my original podcast transcript with AI-assisted editing.

Voice Note #127 — Wait, I'm the Problem?!

VOICE NOTE #127 — Wait, I'm the Problem?! Well, here's an uncomfortable little plot twist. What happens when you realize that maybe you're the emotionally unavailable one? Wait. WHAT? After years of healing, solitude, shadow work, and learning to love myself, I'm discovering that perhaps the walls I built to protect my heart have become the very things keeping me from opening it. Because there's only so much healing we can do in isolation. Eventually, baby, you've gotta' come out of hibernation. And when familiar patterns start showing up with different faces, maybe it's not another test from the Universe. Maybe it's an opportunity to practice everything we've been learning. To get curious. To do something differently. To let ourselves be seen. To trust ourselves enough to put down the armor. And perhaps, while we're waiting for the next chapter to unfold, we can stop trying to figure everything out and remember to play a little. Because sometimes you just have to believe. TAKEAWAYS The walls that once protected us can eventually keep us from connectingHealing in solitude and practicing healing in relationships are different experiencesFamiliar patterns can become opportunities for curiosity and integrationWe can acknowledge our shadows while still choosing loveTrusting ourselves doesn't require having everything figured out CHAPTERS 00:02 — Wait. Am I the Emotionally Unavailable One? 02:50 — Wanting Love and Pushing It Away 05:51 — Sitting in the Void 09:16 — When the Walls That Protected You Become the Walls That Hold You Back 10:33 — Sensitivity, Solitude, and Connection 13:19 — Calling All the Pieces of Myself Home 15:42 — Same Energy, Different Face 20:09 — Curiosity, Practice, and Learning to Believe Episode description adapted from my original podcast transcript with AI-assisted editing.

Voice Note #126—Why Does Taking Care of Myself Feel Like a Chore?

CONTENT NOTE: This episode contains discussion of childhood abuse, traumatic memories, and childhood shaming. VOICE NOTE #126 — Why Does Taking Care of Myself Feel Like a Chore? I'm sitting in my car crying like a little kid. I'm exhausted. Not the kind of tired that sleep fixes. The kind where your soul feels tired. And somewhere between the grief, the anger, the financial pressure, the coping mechanisms I know aren't helping me, and my frustration with myself for not somehow handling all of this better, I started wondering: What if this is the loop? What if it's the pressure I keep putting on myself to have it all together? To be perfect. To get over it. To not be so sensitive. To not need so much care. And then another question found me. Why does taking care of myself feel like such a chore? Maybe because somewhere along the way, I learned that I was one. That I was difficult. Too sensitive. Too much. A lot to deal with. And maybe that voice I've been hearing all this time isn't even mine. Huh. I hadn't quite thought about it like that. TAKEAWAYS • Understanding our feelings doesn't necessarily make them easier to carry • Sometimes the loop may be the pressure we put on ourselves to get out of the loop • The way we speak to ourselves can carry voices we learned long ago • Needing care doesn't have to mean being a burden CHAPTERS 00:01 — Crying Like a Little Kid 01:58 — Why Can't You Just Get Over It? 03:09 — When Your Soul Is Tired 04:59 — I Feel Like a Little Kid 06:13 — Maybe This Is the Karmic Loop 07:09 — Crying for the Little Girl 08:49 — Why Does Taking Care of Myself Feel Like a Chore? Voice Note #124 — How Do I Turn This Rage Into Sacred Rage?

CONTENT NOTE: This episode contains discussion of childhood abuse, traumatic memories, dissociation, and coping behaviors. VOICE NOTE #124 — How Do I Turn This Rage Into Sacred Rage? I have come to realize that I am an incredibly rageful woman. Not angry. Rageful. It's in my bones. My blood. My muscles. And I understand why it's there. What I don't yet know is what to do with it. How do I take something this enormous and turn it into something sacred? Because underneath the rage, there is grief. There is betrayal. There is heartbreak. And somewhere along the way, my body learned that safety can lead to pain and love can come with confusion. So how do I teach her something different? I don't know yet. Maybe, for now, I don't have to. Maybe I can put one hand on my chest, one hand on my belly, breathe, and simply stay with what is here. Sit with the feeling. Love the feeling. Witness the feeling. Honor the feeling. Feel the feeling. And send another voice note into the Universe. TAKEAWAYS • Rage can hold grief, heartbreak, fear, and betrayal beneath it • Understanding where a protective response comes from doesn't mean we immediately know how to release it • Pain can be acknowledged without turning it against ourselves • Sometimes the practice is simply allowing the body to feel without demanding an immediate answer CHAPTERS 00:02 — I Am an Incredibly Rageful Woman 01:19 — The Pieces I Couldn't Remember 04:23 — When My Body Feels Safe Enough 07:27 — Crowley, Susan & the Grief Beneath the Rage 10:06 — How Do I Turn This Into Sacred Rage? 14:33 — Turning the Rage Against Myself 18:54 — Becoming Stronger, Wiser & Softer 21:35 — Sit With It. Love It. Witness It. Feel It. Episode description adapted from my original podcast transcript with AI-assisted editing.

Voice Note #123—Am I consciously soothing or punishing my body for remembering?

CONTENT NOTE: This episode contains discussion of childhood abuse, traumatic memories, and coping behaviors. VOICE NOTE #123 — Am I Consciously Soothing or Punishing My Body for Remembering? I've been telling myself that I'm consciously soothing. That after remembering things that have shaken me to my core, I'm giving myself permission to cope however I need to cope. But this morning, a different question found me: Am I consciously soothing... or am I punishing my body for remembering? Because somewhere along the way, the things that once helped me survive stopped feeling soothing. They started making me feel worse. And perhaps that doesn't mean I've gone backward. Perhaps noticing that they no longer feel like safety is evidence that something within me has changed. So instead of shaming the version of me who still reaches for those old ways, I'm trying something different. I'm sitting beside her. Thanking her for keeping me safe. And maybe, very gently, asking if she's ready to retire a little. Not disappear. Not be exiled. Just rest. Maybe progress isn't never returning to an old coping mechanism. Maybe sometimes progress is realizing it no longer feels like home. TAKEAWAYS • Old coping mechanisms may stop feeling soothing as we change • Returning to an old pattern doesn't necessarily erase progress • We can acknowledge protective parts of ourselves without shaming or exiling them • Sometimes progress is visible in how differently we respond to ourselves CHAPTERS 00:02 — What a Night 01:20 — When My Body Feels Safe Enough 03:03 — Wanting to Remember & Not Wanting to Remember 04:31 — Am I Soothing or Punishing My Body? 05:27 — This Isn't Helping Me Anymore 07:42 — When Safety Feels Like Pain 08:09 — Sitting With the Part That Kept Me Safe 11:15 — Maybe I Don't Need to Thrive in Chaos Anymore Episode description adapted from my original podcast transcript with AI-assisted editing.
