    PALESTINE, KHALISTAN & THE ROAD TO THE UN | ਰਾਜ ਵੱਲ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ — EP. 2

THE PATH TO SOVEREIGNTY — ਰਾਜ ਵੱਲ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ | EPISODE 2 Palestinians understand the importance of America—but did they simply wait for America to give them a state? No. There is a much bigger story. In Episode 2 of The Path to Sovereignty, Gurpreet Singh Nihang examines the long Palestinian road toward international recognition: political representation, diplomacy, recognition by individual countries, United Nations resolutions, General Assembly votes, the U.S. Security Council veto, and France's recognition of the State of Palestine. We examine key moments including UN Resolution 181 (1947), PLO representation at the UN, the 1988 Palestinian declaration, the 2011 UN membership application, Resolution 67/19 and the 138–9–41 vote in 2012, the U.S. veto in 2024, the 143–9–25 General Assembly vote, and France's recognition of Palestine in 2025. Then we bring the discussion back to Khalistan and the Khalistan Referendum. If America matters, what is the strategy beyond America? If the referendum demonstrates political support, what happens afterward? How does a political mandate become diplomacy? How does diplomacy become international recognition? And what institutional road exists toward the United Nations? Palestine and Khalistan are not equivalent historical or legal cases. The comparison in this episode is about the political and institutional process of pursuing sovereignty and international recognition. The central question: SHOW ME THE MECHANISM. Because announcing the destination is one thing. Building the road to sovereignty is another. The path to Sovereignty

The Path to Sovereignty — ਰਾਜ ਵੱਲ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ is a new Beyond Borders series examining the politics behind sovereignty, statehood and independence movements beyond slogans and personalities. In Episode 1, Gurpreet Singh Nihang examines a political argument comparing Palestine and Khalistan: if dozens of Muslim-majority countries exist, why do Palestinians still look toward powerful states such as the United States and United Kingdom? The deeper issue is not Muslim countries versus Christian countries. It is power, geopolitical influence and national interest. Why do powerful states carry greater influence in international affairs? Why does UN Security Council power matter? Should political movements "trust" countries—or understand where their interests align? And when Sikhs question dependence on America, is it legitimate to dismiss them as "agents" or "South Block touts"? This series will continue beyond Episode 1. In upcoming episodes, The Path to Sovereignty will examine Palestine, Kurdish statehood and Khalistan through actual political evidence: international recognition, UN status and voting, diplomacy, referendums, institutions, representation, mandate, accountability and measurable political outcomes. The objective is not slogans. It is to understand what actually separates a political movement from a sovereign state.
