He Learned to Walk Through Walls. Then He Went Home.

Wang climbs Mount Lao hoping to trade an ordinary life for a spell that makes the world yield. He learns to pass through a wall, carries the secret home, and discovers what happens when a borrowed wonder meets an ordinary household. From the old books of China, a tale for tonight. An English literary adaptation of The Taoist of Mount Lao (Laoshan Daoshi) from Pu Songling's Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio (Liaozhai Zhiyi). Dialogue, motivations, and scenes have been developed for this retelling; this is fiction, not a claim of real supernatural events. Production note: This episode uses synthetic narration. The literary adaptation was written, arranged, edited, and mixed for audio listening.
