Title: The Longevity Code Series: The New Science of Aging Author: Kris Verburgh MD Narrator: Pete Cross Format: Unabridged Length: 11:55:00 Release date: 01-30-18 Genres: Medicine Publisher's Summary: Medical doctor and researcher Dr. Kris Verburgh is quickly emerging as one of the world's leading research authorities on the science of aging. The Longevity Code is his authoritative guide on why and how we age and on the four most crucial areas we have control over in order to slow down - and even reverse - the aging process. We learn why some animal species hardly age at all while others age and die very quickly and about the mechanisms at work that slowly but definitely cause our bodies to age, making us susceptible to heart attack, stroke, cancer, pneumonia, and dementia. Dr. Verburgh devotes the last third of The Longevity Code to what we can do to slow down the process of aging. He concludes by introducing and assessing the wide range of cutting-edge developments in anti-aging technology, the stuff once only of science fiction: new types of vaccines and the use of mitochondrial DNA, CRISPR proteins, stem cells, and more.

Title: Dirty Genes Series: A Breakthrough Program to Treat the Root Cause of Illness and Optimize Your Health Author: Ben Lynch Narrator: Kaleo Griffith Format: Unabridged Length: 07:46:00 Release date: 01-30-18 Genres: Medicine Publisher's Summary: A leading expert in epigenetics - how genes switch on and off - provides a revolutionary, holistic, and personalized approach to better health by improving how your genes behave to prevent and reverse common ailments, chronic illnesses, and life-threatening diseases, including cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disorders, anxiety, depression, digestive issues, obesity, cancer, diabetes, and more. Your genes have a tremendous impact on your health. In this groundbreaking book, Dr. Ben Lynch reveals that while you can't change the genes you were born with, you can change how they affect you. When your genes are working properly, you feel energized and healthy. But when your genes are "dirty", or not functioning optimally, your health suffers. Some genes are "born dirty" - they have certain variations that can cause you problems. Other genes merely "act dirty" in response to your environment, diet, or lifestyle. You can optimize both types of dirty genes by cleaning them up through healthy eating, good sleep, stress relief, environmental detox, and other holistic and natural means. An experienced researcher in the emerging science of gene abnormalities who has successfully treated thousands of clients, Dr. Lynch offers a simple questionnaire to identify which of the top seven dirty genes could be undermining your health. Then he offers targeted plans - including foods and recipes, supplements, and environmental detox - to clean up your dirty genes, eliminate symptoms, and optimize your physical and mental health. Many of us have been taught that our genes doom us to the disorders that run in our families. But Dr. Lynch shows that you can rewrite your genetic destiny - once you know how. Dirty Genes provides a practical, personalized protocol to make the most of your genetic inheritance, now and for the rest of your life.

Hit play, take a deep breath, and let the narration carry you through. Title: The Epidemic Series: A Collision of Power, Privilege, and Public Health Author: David DeKok Narrator: Eddie Frierson Format: Unabridged Length: 11:12:00 Release date: 01-19-18 Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 1 votes Genres: Medicine Publisher's Summary: The Epidemic tells the true story one of the last and worst typhoid epidemics in America, occurring in the early winter of 1903 in Ithaca, NY, home of Cornell University. At least 85 people died in the epidemic, including 29 Cornell students. More than 10 percent of Ithaca's 13,000 citizens contracted typhoid, mostly from drinking the town's water. As a prosperous university town, Ithaca had more doctors than anywhere in New York state outside of Manhattan, but that was of little help. There was no real cure. You suffered for three weeks and either died horribly or got better, but even survivors could be left physically ruined and financially destitute. Typhoid was nearing the end of a long run as a worldwide killer of rich and poor alike, but that end - brought about in the 20th century by water chlorination and antibiotics - would not come soon enough for Ithaca. Written as a nonfiction medical thriller, The Epidemic traces the outbreak to William T. Morris' acquisition of Ithaca Water Works in 1902 from the wealthy and prominent Treman family in Ithaca. He paid too much for the water company, in part because he wanted to move his business operations to Ithaca so he could live near his close friend, Ebenezer M. Treman. The deal was rejected by Wall Street banks, but Cornell University - whose board was controlled by Morris' friends - came through with enough financing to close the deal. Forced to raise revenue and cut costs, Morris decided to build a new dam and reservoir on Six Mile Creek above Ithaca. Some of the workers he hired brought the typhoid to Ithaca. The Epidemic details Ithaca's existential struggle to survive, examining medical procedures of the era, how the epidemic was finally broken, and who the heroes and villains were. Cornell students took matters into their own hands, demanding that the university provide clean bottled water. This story was a tragedy, but the listener will find many sparks of hope and goodness.

Plants and Herbs That Repair Lung Damage, Combat Infections, and Boost Lung Health [Written by Beverly Hill]

#ads Get premium access to stream any unabridged audiobook by starting your free trial:https://booksreader.space/al-7524/Made for listeners who enjoy a Medicine audiobook on the commute home from the clinic, this story keeps pace with the moment. Press play and let it become the soundtrack of your hour. Title: Plants and Herbs That Repair Lung Damage, Combat Infections, and Boost Lung Health Author: Beverly Hill Narrator: Wayne F. Perkins Format: Unabridged Length: 00:47:00 Release date: 01-18-18 Genres: Medicine Publisher's Summary: This audiobook contains proven steps and strategies on how plants and herbs will boost the immune system, promote healthy lungs, and fight colds and infections. Using herbs as a form of medicine has been done for thousands of years, and many people still use herbs, herbal remedies, teas, poultices, and supplements today to help keep their body healthy and to help take care of their families. Many people have started learning about plants and herbs - there are plenty of herbs which will actually do more than keep you healthy. Herbs can be used as a medicine alternative to high priced prescription drugs which often have risky side effects. Using herbs as medicine takes time and research, but it's well worth it. Herbs are much more gentle on your body, and they can be lifesaving for anyone who doesn't have health insurance because they're quite inexpensive to buy. Without your lungs, you couldn't breathe, and without breath, you cease to exist. The lungs are part of the respiratory system, working with other organs and tissues to help you breathe. Every cell in the body needs oxygen to live, and the lungs are what move oxygen into the bloodstream where it's carried throughout the body when you inhale. When you exhale, the waste, in the form of carbon dioxide, is removed. Your respiratory system is constantly working. It is the vehicle for oxygen to enter your body. Unfortunately, it can also be an entry point for pollutants, irritants, dust, mold, fungus, harmful organisms, and other toxins. Unless you're living in a bubble, the constant assault from impurities can take its toll. Fortunately, whether you're experiencing the negative effects of inhaling toxins or simply want to ensure your lungs are always at peak performance, nature has provided a number of herbs and botanicals that provide deep nutrition for the respiratory system. For centuries, the traditional medicine systems across the world have been using herbs to treat respiratory illnesses. Modern studies have acknowledged the effectiveness of a number of herbs in treating respiratory illnesses, repairing lung damage, and improving pulmonary function. They can be used as alternatives to pharmacological drugs to provide relief from lung problems.

Condition Book One - Alec Birri

#ads Get premium access to stream any unabridged audiobook by starting your free trial:https://booksreader.space/al-7524/Pair this Medicine audiobook with the moments you love on the commute home from the clinic. Pop in your earbuds, let the narrator set the tone, and lose yourself in the story. Title: Condition Book One Series: A Medical Miracle? Author: Alec Birri Narrator: Jonathan Keeble Format: Unabridged Length: 06:32:00 Release date: 01-17-18 Genres: Medicine Publisher's Summary: The first in a dystopian trilogy based on the author's command of a top secret government unit. What if all brain disorders were treatable? Few would lament the passing of dementia or autism, but what if the twisted mind of a sex offender or murderer could be cured too? Or how about a terrorist or maybe a political extremist? What if we could all be "corrected"? It's 1966, and RAF pilot Dan Stewart awakes from a coma following an aircraft accident into a world where nothing seems to make sense anymore. Not being able to recall the crash might be expected, but what about the rest of his life? And what's stopping him from taking his medication? Is it brain damage that's causing paranoia about the red pill, or is Dan right to think something sinister is going on? His horrific injuries don't make any sense either - a post-crash fire caused him to suffer almost 100% burns. How is it even possible to survive that? Are the hallucinations and strange dreams trying to tell him something? They are, and he'll soon find out what, but not before his doctor's sure the shock won't kill him.
