From Addiction to Redemption Feat. Raven Pruitt

Breaking the cycle: Raven’s Story of Addiction, Recovery & Redemption  TRIGGER WARNING: This episode contains discussions of parental alcoholism, childhood trauma, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, and addiction. Please prioritize your emotional well-being while listening. If these subjects are triggering for you, it’s completely okay to skip this episode. What happens when the very thing you grew up surrounded by becomes the battle you eventually face yourself? In this deeply personal and emotional episode of Outloud with UncommonKaren, I’m sitting down with Raven as she courageously shares her story of growing up in a home where both parents struggled with alcoholism, navigating a childhood filled with challenges, becoming pregnant as a teenager, and eventually finding herself caught in the very cycle of addiction she had witnessed growing up. But Raven’s story doesn’t end with addiction. Through some of the darkest chapters of her life, Raven found her way to sobriety, faith, and a relationship with God that helped her begin writing a completely different story for herself. We talk about childhood trauma, generational cycles, teenage motherhood, addiction, the difficult road to recovery, and the power of God’s grace. This episode is a reminder that your upbringing may shape parts of your story, but it does not have to determine how your story ends. You are not defined by your childhood. You are not defined by your addiction. You are not defined by your worst decisions. There is hope. There is healing. There is redemption. And there is life on the other side of the things you thought would destroy you. Raven’s story isn’t just about where she’s been. It’s about how far she’s come. BEHIND CLOSED DOORS with Heather Lumpkin

🎙️OUTLOUD with UncommonKaren Episode:  Heather’s Story: Behind closed doors ⚠️TRIGGER WARNING — PLEASE READ BEFORE LISTENING This episode contains sensitive and potentially disturbing discussions involving domestic violence, physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault, sexual abuse, and inappropriate sexual conduct involving children. We understand that these topics may be triggering for individuals who have experienced trauma, abuse, or PTSD. Please know that it is absolutely OKAY to skip this episode. Your mental health, emotional well-being, and peace are far more important than a podcast download. You do not owe anyone an explanation for protecting yourself. We love you, we support you, and we will see you on the next episode. 🩷 💜 ABOUT THIS EPISODE October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and today we’re sharing a story that deserves to be heard. This week on OUTLOUD with UncommonKaren, I’m sitting down with someone who isn’t just a guest but a personal friend, Heather Lumpkin. Heather’s story is one of heartbreak, unimaginable circumstances, survival, courage, and ultimately, finding the strength to rebuild a life that once felt completely shattered. From being a nurse and a wife trapped in an abusive marriage to finding her voice, reclaiming her life, and becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Heather is living proof that your past does not have to determine your future. This conversation is raw. It’s emotional. It’s uncomfortable at times. But most importantly, it’s REAL. And what you’ll hear today is only a glimpse of everything Heather has endured. We’re sharing her story because somewhere, someone may be living through something similar and needs to know that they are not alone. Abuse does not discriminate. Silence does not equal weakness. And starting over does not mean you’ve failed. Sometimes the strongest people are the ones who had to rebuild themselves when nobody knew they were falling apart. Heather is telling her story OUTLOUD, and I am honored that she trusted me with it. 🎧 Listen wherever you get your podcasts, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Deezer, and more. 🩷 Download • Follow • Rate • Review • Share Because you never know who might need to hear this story.  Outloud with UncommonKaren Real Talk. Meet The Uncommon Husband

🚨 WARNING: I LET MY HUSBAND HAVE A MICROPHONE. This week on OUTLOUD with UncommonKaren, the Uncommon Husband is joining me… and this may have been a terrible decision. 😂 We’re talking marriage, how we met, blending a family, putting up with each other, my very LOUD social media life vs. his please-don’t-put-me-on-the-internet personality, and what it’s really like being married to UncommonKaren. There will be unsolicited opinions.  There will be oversharing.  There will probably be disagreements over events that happened YEARS ago because apparently we remember our own marriage very differently. 😂 And since neither one of us knows when to stop talking once we get started, there is absolutely no telling where this conversation is going. No script. No filter. No marriage counselor present. Just a husband, a wife, two microphones and several opportunities to sleep on the couch. Proceed at your own risk. And warning: There will be a part 2! Real Talk. Real Life. Real Truths. And as always… we can have opinions, but we leave room for grace.
