Testing MagrowTec Against a Control Sprayer: 3 Years of Data with Grower Dustin Hofer

Welcome to The MagrowTec Podcast — Powered by Physics, where host Gary Wickham sits down with growers, researchers, industry experts and other voices from across agriculture to share their experiences and perspectives on farming, spray application, technology and innovation. In this first episode, Gary talks with Dustin Hofer, a sixth-generation grower who farms corn and soybeans with his father and two sisters outside Huron, South Dakota. A data-driven farmer who tests everything before he commits, Dustin ran MagrowTec on two of his three sprayers and kept the third as a control — side by side, for three full seasons — to prove the results to himself. Here's some of what he shares: 10–15% less chemistry and about 30% less carrier volume on corn — for a better killSimilar savings on soybeans, with more acres covered per tank200,000 acres on his first system with zero problemsZero drift-complaint calls in three yearsFull-plant coverage on resistant weeds like kochia and pigweedWhy he's now putting MagrowTec on all three sprayersGary and Dustin also get into drift standards and the physics behind the technology, a late-season weed rescue in high-canopy corn, the new rodless L Series, and the bigger picture of family farming and staying profitable in a tough market. ▶ Watch, listen, and find resources: https://magrowtec.com/podcast/the-farmer-who-kept-a-control-sprayer-to-test-magrowtec/ Subscribe and follow The MagrowTec Podcast on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts so you never miss an episode.
