Starfleet Before the Borg: The Fleet of the Federation | Star Trek Documentary

Before Wolf 359, Starfleet spent a century building ships it called explorers. Look closer and a different story appears: a navy that never used the name. Starfleet Before the Borg is Volume 1 of a two-part ship breakdown. Nine chapters, from the original USS Enterprise to the Enterprise-D, and what each ship reveals about how Starfleet really operated. The flagships everyone remembers. The workhorses nobody does. And the rival that forced Starfleet's hand. Volume 2, Starfleet After the Borg, arrives Saturday, October 31. Subscribe so you don't miss it. Q Didn't Test Humanity. He Saved It.

PC & Consoles —https://wtplay.link/lorereloaded and WT Mobile — https://wtm.game/lorereloaded Starfleet likes to believe it handles its own problems. The record says otherwise: every time it faced an enemy it truly couldn't beat, a god stepped in. In the very first episode of The Next Generation, Picard tells his crew to act as if Q never existed. Starfleet built its identity on that idea. Over the next century of canon, it kept quietly needing exactly the kind of help it swore off. The Organians stopped a Klingon war that would have cost millions. Q forced first contact with the Borg early enough for Starfleet to prepare, then admitted he'd helped Picard pass humanity's final exam. And when 2,800 Dominion ships were seconds from coming through the wormhole, it took the Prophets to stop them. The gods didn't fight Starfleet's wars for it. They kept Starfleet alive long enough to finish them. Species 8472 Were Never Hunting Humanity. Voyager Made Us the Target.

🔥 Download War Thunder for FREE and get awesome bonuses! PC & Consoles —https://wtplay.link/lorereloaded and WT Mobile — https://wtm.game/lorereloaded Species 8472 weren't planning to invade Earth. Everything Voyager did gave them a reason to think they had to. They slaughtered the Borg, promised to purge our galaxy, and built a perfect copy of Starfleet Headquarters to train infiltrators. It's easy to remember them as Voyager's most terrifying villains. But watch all four of their episodes side by side and a different story comes out. The Borg invaded them first. Voyager boarded their ship, built a weapon from what it found, and allied with the species trying to wipe them out. Every step up in their hostility toward humanity follows something Voyager did. By the time we meet them again on a fake Earth, they're the ones who are afraid. This isn't an acquittal. It's the war from the other side, and a look at how two paranoid species ended up seeing an invasion in each other. Episodes covered:Star Trek: Voyager, "Scorpion" (S3E26)Star Trek: Voyager, "Scorpion, Part II" (S4E1)Star Trek: Voyager, "Prey" (S4E16)Star Trek: Voyager, "In the Flesh" (S5E4) More Borg deep dives:Humanity Was Never the Borg's Real Target: [link]The Borg Didn't Assimilate People. The Original Series Fails Roddenberry's Vision #startrek

Gene Roddenberry's vision "Gene Roddenberry would never have allowed this." It shows up under every new Star Trek trailer, from Discovery to Picard to Starfleet Academy, and it treats Roddenberry's vision as one fixed set of rules that started with Kirk's Enterprise in 1966. So I took that vision and held it up against Roddenberry's own shows, in the order he made them. Kirk's crew in Balance of Terror, Court Martial, A Taste of Armageddon, The Apple and Mudd's Women. Then Star Trek IV, the 1987 writers' guide for The Next Generation, Picard in The Neutral Zone and Family, and finally Star Trek VI. What Kirk's crew was allowed to be and what Picard's crew was allowed to be are not the same thing, and the change did not happen by accident. If you have ever typed that sentence under a Star Trek trailer, this is the question worth asking first: which Roddenberry do you mean?
