S1E6: Step Out and Do the Hard Thing! — with Vanessa Anconetani

What might be waiting on the other side of the thing you're afraid to do? Vanessa Anconetani knows something about stepping out. As a single mom, entrepreneur, ministry leader, and natural encourager, she's built a life by learning to trust God, take the opportunities in front of her, and do hard things—even when the outcome wasn't guaranteed. In this episode of The Hothouse, Vanessa shares about raising her son, leaving the security of an established career to pursue her own business, and discovering that faith isn't simply something we believe—it's something we're called to walk out. And wherever Vanessa finds herself, ministry seems to follow. Whether she's encouraging a woman sitting in her treatment room or serving in the church, she has a passion to see God's daughters recognize what He has placed inside them and believe that there can be more. Maybe you've been waiting until you feel ready. Until you're less afraid. Until the timing is perfect or the path is guaranteed. Vanessa's encouragement is simple: Step out. Trust God. And do the hard thing. You may discover that flourishing begins with the very step you've been afraid to take.

S1E5: Life Before the River and Beyond — with Joyce Holt

Long before there was The River, there was a teenage girl named Joyce, a young man named Jack, and a story neither of them could have imagined God was already writing. In this episode of The Hothouse, Tracy sits down with Joyce Holt for a personal look at the life behind more than four decades of ministry. Joyce shares about meeting her high-school sweetheart, walking through profound loss, encountering Jesus for herself, and watching God completely transform the young man who would eventually become her husband and pastor. Their journey has included joy and heartbreak, family and ministry, seasons of sacrifice, and plenty of moments when standing required faith. Through it all, Joyce has discovered something that can only truly be learned over time: God is faithful. This isn't simply the story of a pastor's wife. It's the story of a woman who has continued to love, serve, trust, and grow through every season God has placed before her. From life before the River to everything God has done since—and whatever He still has ahead—Joyce's story reminds us that a flourishing life isn't built in a moment. It's grown through a lifetime of walking faithfully with God.

S1E4: Into the Secret Place — with Cheryl Salem

What if the most important part of your relationship with God is the part no one else ever sees? In a world filled with noise, distractions, and endless demands for our attention, Jesus offers a remarkable invitation: Go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father who is unseen. (Matthew 6:5–6) In this episode of The Hothouse, Tracy welcomes author, speaker, and minister Cheryl Salem for a heartfelt conversation inspired by her newest book, An Intimate Journey into Your Secret Place. Drawing from her personal journey and years of ministry, Cheryl shares the importance of cultivating an intimate, personal relationship with our Heavenly Father—one that reaches beyond religious routines, public expressions of faith, and simply knowing about God. Together, they explore what it means to make room for His presence, quiet the competing voices around us, and discover the beauty of being known by the Father in the place where no one else is watching. Whether you’ve walked with Jesus for decades or you’re just beginning to discover what intimacy with Him looks like, this conversation is an invitation to draw near, open your heart, and rediscover the joy of simply being with God. Because some of the deepest growth in our lives happens in the place only God can see. The Hothouse — Where We’re Nourished to Flourish.

S1E3: Calling the Prodigals Home — with Lisa (v2)

What do you do when the child you love begins walking a road you cannot follow—and you discover that no amount of love can make their choices for them? For Lisa and her husband, that road meant watching their only son endure a long battle with addiction that eventually led to homelessness. There were prayers, heartbreak, difficult decisions, and seasons when what they could see seemed to contradict everything they were believing God for. But they kept praying. They kept loving. And they kept trusting God with the parts of their son's story they could not control. Today, their son is restored, resilient, successful, and building a beautiful life of his own. In this episode of The Hothouse, Lisa shares what it looked like to stand in faith through the years between the prayer and the answer—and what she learned about surrender, hope, and the God who never stopped pursuing her son. For every mom praying for a prodigal, loving a child through addiction, or wondering whether your prayers and faith still matter when nothing seems to be changing: don't mistake what you cannot see for what God is not doing. Your story may still be in the middle. And God is still at work.

S1E2: When Life Doesn't Look Like the Plan — with Kendra

What happens to our faith when life unfolds in ways we never expected—and don't understand? Kendra's life took an unexpected turn at just 19 years old. Yet through challenges she never would have chosen, her story has continued to be marked by faith, creativity, compassion, education, service, and a God who has remained present through it all. In this deeply personal conversation, Tracy and Kendra talk honestly about disappointment, unanswered questions, identity, and what it means to keep trusting God when His plan doesn't resemble ours. This isn't a conversation about pretending difficult things aren't difficult. It's about discovering that a life can look very different from the one we imagined and still be deeply meaningful, fruitful, and beautiful. Because when life doesn't look like the plan, God is still at work.

S1E1: What Does It Mean to Flourish? — with Sophie Xavier

We use the word flourish to describe everything from success and happiness to simply having a really good season. But what does God mean when He says we can flourish? In the very first episode of The Hothouse, Tracy is joined by her daughter and occasional co-host, Sophie, to look beyond our everyday definitions of flourishing and explore what Scripture actually says. Together, they talk about roots, fruit, pruning, abiding, and why some of the most important growth in our lives happens where no one can see it. Psalm 92 promises that those who are planted in the house of the Lord will flourish—and even continue bearing fruit in later seasons. So perhaps flourishing isn't about having everything go right. Perhaps it's about where—and in Whom—we're planted. Welcome to The Hothouse, where we're nourished to flourish.
