    As Many as Received Him

In, "As Many as Received Him," A.W Tozer presents the new birth as a profound work of God in which those who truly receive Christ are brought into a new and heavenly life as children of God. He stresses that receiving Jesus is not a passive or casual act, but a wholehearted response of the mind, will, and affections that takes Christ on His terms and follows Him without reserve. The message closes with a stirring invitation to lay hold of Christ fully, making Him ours and ourselves His, because nothing in this world is more important than that eternal decision. He Departed-Into a Mountain Alone

In, "He Departed-Into a Mountain Alone," pastor A.W. Tozer reminds us that Jesus Himself regularly withdrew from the crowd to be alone with God, and that believers need the same quiet separation from the noise and pressure of the world. He teaches that solitude with God is not an escape from life, but the place where the soul is strengthened, clarified, and prepared to return with something worth giving to others. His appeal is deeply practical: make room for silence, prayer, and communion with God, because only by stepping away from the world’s constant pull can we come back into it with peace, strength, and spiritual light. The Beautious World as Made by Him

In his pulpit sermon, "The Beautious World as Made by Him," A.W. Tozer reflects on a world filled with God’s beauty, order, and sustaining presence, yet tragically populated by people who can move through life without recognizing the One who made it all. He warns that the greatest danger is not only obvious sin, but becoming so absorbed in business, pleasure, and ordinary living that we no longer see the Light, hear the Voice, or sense the Presence of God. His appeal is tender and direct: awaken to the God who is already near, turn to Him with a childlike heart, and live with a renewed awareness of His presence in the world He created. This message was delivered on November 1, 1953 A full, downloadable transcript of the sermon is available at https://tozertalks.com/tozer-talks-270/

The Benefits of Loving our Lord Jesus Christ

In the sermon, "The Benefits of Loving our Lord Jesus Christ," pastor and author A.W. Tozer reminds us that loving Jesus is not merely a duty, but the deepest joy and satisfaction the human heart can know. He teaches that when we respond to Christ in love, God’s love becomes a living reality within us, filling the heart with His presence and making even ordinary lives vessels of His glory. His heartfelt appeal is that we stop loving Christ only for what He gives us and learn instead to love Him simply for who He is, until that love becomes a warm and overflowing fire within us. The message was preached on December 18, 1955 at the Southside Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Chicago, IL. A complete transcript is available at https://tozertalks.com/tozer-talks-269/

Gird up Your Minds and be Sober

In ”Gird up Your Minds and be Sober,” pastor and author A.W. Tozer urges believers to “gird up” their minds by rejecting spiritual carelessness, aimlessness, and shallow thinking, and instead living with disciplined thought, righteousness, faithfulness, truth, and sober self-control. He concludes by saying Christian hope is not wishful thinking but a confident expectation grounded in God’s promises, especially the promised return of Jesus Christ. Let Not Your Heart be Troubled

In A.W. Tozer's sermon, “Let not your heart be troubled,” he argues that Jesus’ words, are not merely for funerals, but for the daily struggles of life, because the deepest human unrest comes from sin and a loss of confidence in God. Mr. Tozer teaches that true peace cannot be found through positive thinking, amusement, or escape, but through restored faith in God and reconciliation through Jesus Christ, whose death makes possible a deep and lasting peace at the very center of the believer’s life.

Jesus' True Enemies-The Religious Pharisees and Scribes

In "Jesus' True Enemies-The Religious Pharisees and Scribes, " A.W. Tozer warns that Jesus’ fiercest opposition came not from obvious sinners but from self-righteous religious people whose orthodoxy lacked love, humility, and compassion. He contrasts the Pharisees’ pride with Christ’s willingness to receive sinners, heal the suffering, and offer life and immortality, calling believers to reject spiritual superiority and come to Christ with penitence and humility.

Appearance versus Reality-The Inconsistency of Jesus

In "Appearance versus Reality-The Inconsistency of Jesus, " A.W. Tozer warns us not to judge spiritual things merely by outward appearances, but to look beneath the surface and seek the heart of God and the reality of truth. He shows how prejudice, pride, and self-love can blind even religious people to what Scripture is really saying, and he calls us instead to humility, repentance, and a willingness to let God correct us. At the same time, there is a comforting note running through the message: those who belong to God and walk in His will can rest in His sovereign care, knowing that their lives are ultimately in His hands.
