How to Navigate RSD When You Are A Creative with Giles Paley-Phillips

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! In this episode we discuss ADHD, creativity, rejection sensitivity, grief and what it is like navigating all of that in the public eye. Giles Paley-Phillips is an award-winning author, podcaster and screenwriter. He has written several books for children and two adult novels, including One Hundred and Fifty-Two Days, his semi-autobiographical novel in verse exploring grief, hope and love. The book has received praise from writers and broadcasters including Marian Keyes, Dawn French, Ian Rankin, Susie Dent and Nick Offerman, and has now been adapted for the screen by Giles and Elizabeth Morris. His Blank Podcast has also been nominated for the British Podcast Awards and reached number one in sixteen countries. Giles talks openly about ADHD, creativity and rejection sensitivity, and about the particular challenges of putting your work, and yourself, into the public eye. We also talk about the forthcoming film adaptation of One Hundred and Fifty-Two Days, the joy of collaborating with people such as Jim Daly, and what he has learned through conversations with people including Dawn French, Stephen Fry and Louis Theroux. Just as importantly, Giles reflects on the value of listening to people without a public profile too, and the stories we can miss when we only pay attention to the famous. NeuroDIVE redesigns systems, cultures and ways of working with neurodivergent people in mind, because when organisations design for difference, they work better for everyone. Our team brings expertise across business, education, social care and executive leadership, combining professional and lived experience to create meaningful and lasting change. https://www.neurodive.uk/
