What If You've Been Getting Ready for This Your Whole Life?

What if the years you've spent working toward something aren't evidence that it's taking too long, but preparation for something bigger than you ever imagined? There's a story about bamboo that completely changes the way we think about growth. For years, it appears that absolutely nothing is happening. And then, seemingly out of nowhere, everything changes. Sound familiar? In this episode of The Midlife Yogi, I'm sharing this fascinating little story, along with some recent breakthroughs inside my yoga studio that reminded me how much can be happening beneath the surface, even when we can't see the results. We'll talk about why persistence alone isn't always enough, how to recognize the growth you're overlooking, and why the experiences, skills, and wisdom you've spent decades accumulating might be your greatest advantage in midlife. Because here's something I find incredibly exciting about approaching 50: We're not starting from scratch. We're bringing an entire lifetime of experience into whatever we decide to do next. And who knows? Maybe everything you've been through has been preparing you for something you haven't even considered yet. COME PRACTICE WITH ME One of the greatest gifts of a consistent yoga practice is the opportunity to get to know yourself on a deeper level. If you're ready for a practice that challenges you, keeps you learning, and helps you discover what's possible in this season of your life, I'd love to welcome you into Tori G. Yoga Online Studio. The Universe Is Talking. Are You Listening to Yourself?

Is it a sign from the Universe, or is your brain simply noticing what you've already decided is important? I've always believed the Universe has its own ways of communicating with us through signs, synchronicities, and those moments that seem a little too meaningful to dismiss. But I've also become fascinated by how our brains work, particularly the role attention plays in what we notice around us. So where does that leave our intuition? In this episode of The Midlife Yogi, we're exploring the intersection of spirituality, neuroscience, and the inner knowing that becomes so valuable as we move through life. I'm sharing how decades of practicing yoga have helped me develop a deeper relationship with myself, why I believe our intuition becomes easier to recognize with age, and how we can remain open to guidance from the Universe without losing trust in our own wisdom. We'll also explore the Reticular Activating System (RAS) and the brain's attention networks, and I'll introduce you to a simple exercise called the Sway Test, which you can experiment with as a way to become more aware of your body's responses. Because maybe the most interesting question isn't whether something is a sign or simply our brain doing its job. Maybe it's what that experience helps us discover about ourselves.
