What if we noticed before we broke?

What happens when we keep pushing through the signs that something isn’t quite right?  In this episode, I’m joined by Nicky Lowe, Founder of Wisdom For Working Mums, award-winning master-level Executive Coach and Leadership Consultant, and host of the Wisdom For Working Mums podcast.  After experiencing burnout following the birth of her first child, Nicky reimagined her own approach to work and motherhood.  Today, she supports career-driven women to combine work and family life more successfully and sustainably, without sacrificing their sanity or wellbeing.  Together, we explore the early signs of burnout we so often miss or dismiss, the patterns that keep us pushing, and what it might look like to respond to ourselves differently before we reach breaking point.  We also talk about the role of self-kindness, why psychologically safe workplaces matter, and what can change when we start noticing what we need a little sooner.  Because perhaps we don’t need to wait until we break to give ourselves permission to stop.  Find out more about Nicky Lowe  Website: Luminate Group | Leadership and Executive Coach | Nicky Lowe  Podcast:Wisdom For Working Mums - The Podcasts - luminate-group.co.uk  LinkedIn: Nicky Lowe | LinkedIn Instagram: nickyloweleadership  Connect with Kindness For Success  Website: https://www.kindnessforsuccess.co.uk Instagram: kindness.for.success LinkedIn: Kim Stokes  and Lucy Hughes About The Kindness We Forget and #24forKindness  Conversations about sustainable self-kindness, because a kinder future starts with you.  The Kindness We Forget grew from #24forKindness, a 24-hour fundraising challenge in support of Mind during Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2026. Season One revisits conversations from that event, exploring the role of sustainable self-kindness in how we live, work, lead and care for ourselves and others.  You will hear references to watching live or donating during this conversation. These relate to the original event and are not part of a current fundraising campaign.  Collectively, #24forKindness raised enough to enable Mind to provide 182 people with a 1:1 call at a time of need;  support that otherwise wouldn’t have been funded.  If you enjoyed this episode, we'd love you to follow the podcast and share it with someone who might enjoy the conversation too.  To learn more about Mind and the support they provide, visit https://www.mind.org.uk.
