    You ask why something is done a certain way, and suddenly the conversation is about your attitude. You still haven’t had an answer. In this episode of Open Question, I consider why a request for an explanation can be heard as resistance. A practice may have a very good reason behind it. But “that’s how we do it” doesn’t tell us what that reason is—or whether it still holds.
