Walking Worthy: The Pursuit of a Life That Pleases God

In this episode of Christ Life Classic, Pastor Modupeola Thompson-Ehima explores the believer’s calling to live a life that genuinely pleases God, drawing from Colossians 1:9–10, Ephesians 2:1–3, 1 Thessalonians 4:1–12, and 2 Corinthians 6:17–18. This teaching reveals that pleasing God is a deliberate journey of spiritual growth, requiring more than a confession of faith. Believers must be filled with the knowledge of God’s will, grow in wisdom and spiritual understanding, and learn to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord. Without this inward transformation, it is possible to remain influenced by the patterns and mindset of the world even after being made alive in Christ. The message further examines the place of sanctification, sexual purity, and self-control in the Christian walk. Through 1 Thessalonians 4, believers are challenged to possess their vessels in holiness and honour, rejecting sexual immorality, lustful passions, and every form of impurity. Beyond personal conduct, the sermon addresses integrity in relationships and the Christian community. It emphasises honest dealings, refusing to defraud or take advantage of others, and embracing a life of quietness, diligence, responsibility, and honourable conduct before both the Church and the world. Finally, drawing from 2 Corinthians 6, the teaching calls believers to separate themselves from whatever contradicts God's nature and standards. It presents consecration and obedience as essential to experiencing the fullness of our relationship with God as Father and growing into mature sons and daughters.

The Way of Christ: From Human Wisdom to Divine Wisdom

Drawing from Romans 1:16–17 and Colossians 1:9–10, this episode establishes the Gospel as the power of God unto salvation and the revelation of His righteousness. It highlights that spiritual maturity requires more than knowledge of the Word; believers must be continually filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. It is through this wisdom that we learn to walk worthy of the Lord, bear fruit in every good work, and increase in the knowledge of God. The teaching challenges common assumptions about what it means to please God. External religious activities, personal preferences, sacrifices, and superficial service cannot replace a life of faith and obedience. As Hebrews 11:6 reveals, pleasing God begins with coming to Him in faith and learning to align our lives with His divine nature and wisdom. The message further examines how the fall corrupted the ways and mannerisms of humanity, causing people to mistake worldly attitudes for wisdom. It calls believers to examine how these patterns influence their relationships, marriages, friendships, and participation in the local church. In particular, it confronts bitterness disguised as self-protection, emotional isolation, and the tendency to withhold love rather than pursue reconciliation. Through Christ, who is the Way, believers are called to embrace a different pattern of living—one marked by forgiveness, vulnerability in love, genuine reconciliation, and conduct shaped by divine wisdom.

The Gospel of Christ: Recovering Sight and Breaking Bondage

In this episode of Christ Life Classic, Pastor Modupeola Thompson-Ehima explores the gospel of Christ as the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16)—not merely a message to be heard or a doctrine to be understood, but God’s power to deliver the soul from the inward dominion of sin and establish the life of Christ within the believer. Drawing from Romans 6:16–22, this teaching reveals how whatever we yield ourselves to becomes our master. Uncontrolled anger, bitterness, fleshly desires, and the pursuit of worldly status can keep believers in bondage when they continue to submit to the law of sin rather than the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. True spiritual power is therefore demonstrated not merely through outward manifestations, but through genuine inward transformation. The sermon further examines Christ’s mission to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind (Luke 4:18–19). It reveals that deliverance begins with spiritual enlightenment—the opening of our understanding to perceive God’s righteous standards and recognise the deception of the wisdom that opposes Him. Through Genesis 3 and 1 Corinthians 1:18–30, the message contrasts earthly, sensual wisdom with the wisdom of God revealed in Christ crucified. What the world considers foolishness and weakness is, in truth, the power of God to dismantle pride, subdue carnal desires, and cultivate meekness, peace, and purity within us.
