Summer 2026 Anime: Season in Review

Find your next watch from Summer 2026. Alex and Momoko start with Bleach and the season’s highest-rated anime, then look beyond the familiar names for series you might have missed. We compare ratings from English-speaking, Chinese-speaking and Japanese-speaking anime communities. Why do nearly identical scores put Chainsmoker Cat much higher on Bangumi than on MyAnimeList? We also look at Iron Wok Jan!, whose individual platform ratings make it worth checking beyond AniGems’ overall top ten. For something new, there’s Jaadugar’s court politics, the manga-making story of Draw This, Then Die!, and the travelling troupe of Grow Up Show: Sunflower Circus. We keep the discussion spoiler-light and help you choose by the kind of story you want. Read the full article, with charts, scores and source links.
