05: Be Still: Overthinking, Overwhelm, and How to Find God's Peace Again

Are you doing all the things (working, praying, reading your Bible), but something still feels off? Are you overwhelmed and overthinking, going to bed thinking about everything you need to do and waking up thinking about it again? Has your quiet time with Jesus started to feel like just another thing to check off your to-do list? In this episode, I'm sharing what God reminded me about how to be still, so you can stop overthinking, stop carrying everything like it all depends on you, and find God's peace again while you do today's work with Jesus. I'm being honest about the week I've been having: building things from scratch, my mind working 24/7, feeling overwhelmed, and feeling like my peace was gone even though I was doing everything "right." Then on the same day, a voice memo from my mentor and an episode from a podcast I love both talked about being still. We'll look at Psalm 46:10 ("Be still and know that I am God"), the storm in Matthew 8, John 16:33, and Isaiah 54:17, and talk about the difference between working and working from panic. I'll also share the simple practice that's helping me with overthinking and overwhelm: write everything down, pray over it, and choose what actually needs to happen today. 04 Stop Overthinking & Negative Self-Talk: How to Pray Instead as a Christian Woman

Is negative self-talk running in your head all day long? Do you keep overthinking and replaying a conversation long after it's over? Are you trying to think your way into controlling what happens next? In this episode, I'm sharing how to stop overthinking and negative self-talk by turning it into prayer, so you can stop carrying every conversation alone and actually walk with Jesus through your day. Less self-talk, more Jesus talk. I'm telling you about a call with a frustrated client and how my overthinking kept going after I hung up. When she called back, I prayed first, and I noticed how calm and patient I was, and how the whole conversation changed. We'll talk about the difference between handling what's actually happening and trying to mentally control everything that could happen next, why prayer doesn't have to sound "spiritual," and what 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says about how to pray continually. Your one step this week: every time you catch yourself in negative self-talk, make the switch and talk to Jesus instead. It's simple, but simple doesn't mean easy. 03: Living in the Future? How to Do the Work and Trust God with the Rest

Have you ever done what you needed to do, but your mind just keeps going? Are you trying to figure out a situation you aren't even in yet? Do you love Jesus and want to trust Him, but still feel overwhelmed about what comes next? In this episode, I'm sharing what happens when we start living in the future instead of the present, so you can do what's in front of you and trust God with what you can't control. I'm launching a business right now, and a friend recently told me I was living in the future. In the middle of my overthinking, I had to ask myself, "Wait, am I trusting God or am I trusting the strategy?" We'll talk about how having a plan and trusting God can happen together, the difference between preparing and mentally living through everything that might go wrong, and what Jesus says about tomorrow in Matthew 6:34. We'll also look at Philippians 4:6–7, and I'll walk you through a simple prayer you can pray when your mind keeps running ahead. Whether you're waiting on a response, making a decision for your family, or trying something new, you can come to Jesus right where you are. 02: Who Told You That? Letting Go of Labels God Never Gave You

Do you keep saying things like "I'm inconsistent," "I'm not capable," or "I always mess things up" without ever asking where that came from? Has one comment from someone sent your mind straight to "something must be wrong with me"? Are you still carrying words someone said to you years ago, even though they might not even remember saying them? In this episode, I'm sharing how to recognize when someone's words became a label God never gave you, so you can stop wearing it and start agreeing with what He says is true about you. I'm telling you about a recent moment when one simple comment had me questioning whether I even know how to communicate, and what it taught me about the tags I've been carrying. We'll talk about the difference between "I'm struggling with this" and "this is who I am," and why we have to be careful about giving another person the authority to name us. We'll look at 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Ephesians 2:10, and I'll share the simple, honest prayers I'm learning to bring to Jesus when a lie shows up. Your one step this week: one tag, one truth.
