“Mean Girl” Megyn Kelly vs. Former Fox News Star Janice Dean: The Christina Applegate MS Controversy

A devastating misdiagnosis. A brutal podcast tirade. And a former best friend who decided she could stay silent no longer. Inside the viral clash that has exposed the dark side of celebrity commentary. When Christina Applegate tearfully revealed on her podcast that she had been misdiagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) after five years of suffering, the world reacted with sympathy. But Megyn Kelly reacted with derision. On her show, Kelly mocked Applegate, claiming she was crying because she was no longer the "face of MS" and had made a "cottage industry" out of her illness. The comments sparked immediate outrage. But the most powerful response came from Janice Dean—a veteran Fox News meteorologist who has battled MS for over 23 years—who called Kelly out as a "mean girl," revealing a painful, personal history between the two former friends. In this episode of CWEB, we break down exactly what was said, why it matters, and the human cost of turning a chronic illness into a culture war. We explore the pain of misdiagnosis, the surprising public figures who have rallied behind Applegate, and the stunning fallout from a broken friendship.
