I used to find foot fetishes odd and off-putting. I didn’t get it. As I’ve been reading the research for an upcoming piece, I’ve changed my mind. I find it fascinating, and I realized I don’t have to share a kink or fully understand it to be curious about it. This episode was recorde…

Ep 6 The Kinks Research Keeps Skipping

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit theresearchswitch.substack.com A paid-subscriber episode. Thank you for being here. I went looking for research on small penis humiliation and couldn’t find any specific to it. It mostly sits under the broad umbrella of psychological masochism. So many people have this kink that I think it deserves its own study. I also talk about cuckquean (women who want to be the one cucked), and w…

Ep 5: The Version of Me Who Only Lives in My Head

This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit theresearchswitch.substack.com Note: this was recorded a few weeks ago. Fresh off writing Friday’s Real Talk piece, I’m thinking out loud about the fantasy version of myself: the one who lives in my head and only comes to the surface in pieces. I’m submissive in reality and dominant in fantasy, and through inner child work I’ve started to see her as a protector who steps in when I’m …

Ep 3: The Language of Permission

Fall weather, a fresh Friday Real Talk piece just posted, and Monday's deep dive in progress. On today's drive I had a realization that connects everything I write about. Whether it's relationships, kink, or sexuality, the way out of shame starts with communication, both with other people and with yourself. Staying curious gives us the language, and that language gives us permission. Take it or leave it, and have a nice kinky day. Follow me on Instagram! Welcome! Ep 2: You Don’t Need a PhD to Be Curious

I've been fascinated by relationships, sexuality, and what actually makes them work since I was a teen — long before I had a psychology degree or the confidence to call myself anything close to a researcher. In this episode, I talk about where that fascination started, why I used to think you needed advanced credentials to dig into research seriously (you don't), and what I hope this space becomes for anyone who finds it.
