Thanks for being the voice of the Catholics in the pew.

Attributing opinions in support of female deacons to radical feminism is just stupid. The same argument being made about female lectors and altar servers is equally dumb and anti-intellectual. The Church has a huge shortage of ministers. There are a number of solutions to this challenge, namely 1) more involvement by laity-male and female, or 2) appointing female deacons as had been done in the history of the Church. Deacons do not have the same status or roles as priests. Marshall is so desperate to attribute female participation to feminism that he is forced to resort to the International Theological Commission which is an advisory body but has no authority and is not the teaching authority of the Catholic Church. Marshall makes fun of God’s calling of men and women into roles in the Church as a “feeling” is disgusting and sinful. The episode was just embarrassing in its lack of intellectual rigor.

I’ve learned so much from this show and Dr Marshall is a genuine God fearing Catholic who knows so much about the faith. Really appreciate this podcast!

I appreciate today’s guest Bishop Strickland. Thank you for bringing him to us. I had never heard about the Oath Against Modernism previously. There is so much we have lost and need to regain.
