Redemption Hill Church Sermons

Redemption Hill Church

The gospel is the hope of the world. As we read the Scriptures, we see the overarching themes of God’s providence, power and provision to reconcile mankind and the created world to Himself through the Person and work of Jesus Christ. In light of this, we aim to be explicitly gospel-centered in all that we preach, teach and practice. Sermon audio and video from Redemption Hill Church, San Antonio, Texas

Now Corinth must follow through. The New Testament Metric for Giving:As PROOF of love (8:24)WILLINGLY, not under compulsion (9:5,7)BOUNTIFULLY, not sparingly (9:6)As decided IN YOUR HEART (9:7)CHEERFULLY—God loves a cheerful giver (9:7)Not dollar-for-dollar ROI. Appointed to Eternal Life Pt 1 | World Without End

Acts 13:13-52: Paul's first recorded sermon in the Book of Acts. But before we get to Paul's message, we need to see WHO is sending him.Acts 13:1 names the church at Antioch: Barnabas, Saul, Simeon called Niger (likely Simon of Cyrene who carried Jesus' cross), Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen (lifelong friend of Herod). This isn't random, Luke is highlighting DIVERSITY from day one.Ethnic diversity (African men from Cyrene, one darker than the other). Socioeconomic diversity (from Herod's wealthy friend to common laborers). Educational diversity. All unified at the foot of the cross. The enemy wants us to focus on our differences and question how anyone could understand us. But Christ died to adopt us into a FAMILY that doesn't always look like us. We don't come to Jesus based on our ethnicity, education, or bank account. We all come as great sinners needing a greater Savior. At the foot of the cross is the great equalizing force. In Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female.Note: Paul's sermon covered next week! 0:00 - Welcome & Scripture Reading: Acts 13:13-528:00 - Members Meeting Announcement10:00 - Overview: Four Sections of This Passage12:00 - Rewinding to Acts 13:1: Who Is Sending Paul?16:00 - Luke: The Best Historian (Verifiable Truth Claims)19:00 - Luke Highlights DIVERSITY in the Church at Antioch22:00 - Simeon Niger & Lucius: Two African Men From Cyrene25:00 - Manaen: Herod's Wealthy Friend (Socioeconomic Diversity)28:00 - The Foot of the Cross: The Great Equalizing Force32:00 - The Enemy's Lie: Focus on Differences35:00 - The Philippian Church: Diversity From Day One39:00 - Jesus Breaks Down Every Dividing Wall43:00 - Our Commonality Is Jesus (Not Background or Class)45:00 - A Multi-Ethnic Church Worshiping Together48:00 - Closing Prayer#Acts13 #AppointedToEternalLife #DiversityInChurch #UnityInChrist #FootOfTheCross #RedemptionHillChurch
