    DTVC Monologue, "The Furious"

In this DTVC Monologue I give a quick 25-minute take on the breakout action sensation "The Furious," which is now available to stream on Starz. Spoiler alert, I loved it, and I get into why. I also shine a spotlight on a DTV star in the film, look at what the ceiling is for movies like this, and do a mini rant on the whole trafficking thing in action movies. DTVC Extra 60, Street Fighter Movies

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode I look at the three live action Street Fighter movies. In the first segment, I talk about my history with the video game, and then get into 1994's "Street Fighter," how my friends and I didn't have great expectations for it, but we wanted to see Van Damme. I also talk about how this affected Van Damme's career, but maybe not the way we think. In the second segment I talk about the much maligned "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li." I didn't dislike it, and I think it's perhaps because it feels like a good DTV actioner. In the third segment I talk about the newest movie, which I saw in the theater yesterday. It was a movie I was hoping would be great, did it live up to expectations? Finally, in the fourth segment I talk about my first novel, "Chad in Accounting," giving some background on how I came up with the initial idea, how the story evolved, and how I learned that writing the books might be the easiest part of self-publishing novels. Todd Liebenow from Forgotten Filmcast and Cartoon Breakdown is back, and this time we're continuing our look at the Strike Commando films with "Strike Commando II." Before that though, we discuss Todd's newest podcast show, Cartoon Breakdown, and some of the cartoons he's discussed so far. Then with "Strike Commando II" we try to make sense of why this was made, why it has Richard Harris, why we had so much fun with it. DTVC Monologue, "One Last Shot"

In this DTVC Monologue I give a quick 20-minute take on the newest One Shot movie, "One Last Shot." I compare it to the other two, compare it to Adkins's recent output, and talk about director James Nunn, fight choreographer Tim Man and action coordinator Dan Styles. Then to finish, I talk about Dolph's part and how good it was. DTVC Podcast 282 "Lady Bloodfight"

In this episode I'm joined once again by Jeanette Ward from The Mundane Adventures of a Fangirl, this time to discuss the Amy Johnston film "Lady Bloodfight." Before that, we look at 2026 in film, which movies have done well and why, the ones that have flopped, and where we see things going for the rest of the year. Then with "Lady Bloodfight," we look at the story and the holes in it, but also the great fights, which is probably why we come to this film. DTVC Monologue, "Josie and the Pussycats"

We're trying something new on the DTVC Podcast feed, "DTVC Monologues" are 15-20 minute takes on a film I just watched. In this first one I look at 2001's "Josie and the Pussycats." It's one that people have been revisiting lately with a sense that maybe it was slept on when it was first released, but deserves another look. Did it? And was I able to make the case one way or the other inside of 20 minutes?
