WILOSOPHY: Tim Rogers - "Always Bring A Book"

Tim Rogers has lived the rockstar life. He's also not a stranger on the cricket pitch in the country Victorian town he calls home. He joins Wil on the eve of You Am I's STRUNG UP tour for a reflective look at his career, how he turns up in his role as a partner and father, and how his creative process has evolved over the decades. We get into regrets and the intertwining of alcohol, drugs, and rock and roll, finding joy in fiction and revisiting funny lyrics on long walks in the bush.  Tim reflects on a time when was angry at Wil for a joke made about him on an episode of Gruen - and the insight he now has into that moment.  Settle in for a thoughtful, warm and highly reflective chat about staying curious, owning your flaws, and finding heaven on earth in a simple cup of tea or a beer with family. TOFOP: Faster and Furiouser

Wil wants to talk about space movies, Charlie argues there's no such thing, and Cambo helps take us through the Fast and Furious franchise in all its chronologically confusing glory. Plus, we tackle two listener-submitted hypotheticals. One existential proposition about dying or getting a chance to live a portion of life over again but you can't change anything, and 2, one that might finally get us a sponsorship from Haighs... or blacklisted for life. 00:00 Opening: Zen, Star Wars & “Skill Rex” 01:36 What counts as a space movie? 04:14 Where to start with Fast & Furious 08:31 The increasingly chaotic Fast & Furious titles 12:10 The franchise’s villains, family & resurrections 15:21 Vin Diesel’s unhinged internet era 17:55 Vin Diesel: movie star, producer & franchise builder 21:26 Street Sharks, Pitch Black & Riddick 25:07 xXx, Ice Cube & action-star archetypes 28:43 Ice-T, cops & Law & Order 31:25 Listener hypotheticals begin 32:31 The Reset: back to 2011 with future knowledge 41:14 The Chocolate Factory hypothetical 50:14 Are Oompa Loompas enslaved? 52:32 Wonka, Patreon & the sign-off 53:04 Tim Rogers, You Am I & an old misunderstanding LINKS Watch clips of the show on Youtube https://bit.ly/ER-youtube and Instagram @everyonerelax https://bit.ly/everyonerelax-ig  Email the show emailtofop@gmail.com Support the show via Patreon at https://bit.ly/ER-patreon Join TOFOP mailing list at the bottom of this page https://everyonerelax.co/?s=mailing+list . WILOSOPHY: Amy Ruffle - "Don't Eat a Burrito in the Steam Room"

Wil sits down with actor, comedian, and improviser Amy Ruffle for a hilarious and moving conversation about resilience, creative growth, and finding your voice. Amy opens up about her life-altering diagnosis of two benign brain tumours blocking her brain's drainage system, which forced her to sleep upright, sauna daily, and ultimately served as the catalyst to stop making excuses and pursue solo stand-up comedy. Then we get into exploring the transition from team-based improv to the vulnerability of solo storytelling, the mechanics behind Amy's vodcast Sauna Sessions (and the bizarre public sauna behaviour she's witnessed, like steam-room burritos), and why authentic human connection on stage matters more than ever. In 2027 make sure to see Amy at MICF and at Adelaide Fringe. Wil, Charlie and Ditch get into what is was like working on one of Australia's most beloved TV shows with Blue Heelers, how Ditch got the acting bug, and is Ditch REALLY his name? WILOSOPHY: Kevin Mitchell - Jebediah, Bob Evans and Trying Not To Be A Dick

In this episode of Wilosophy, Wil sits down with Australian musician Kevin Mitchell, frontman of Jebediah and solo artist behind Bob Evans. Kevin discusses fatherhood, growing through having your "whole identity" being a muso and returning to study as an adult. Plus we get into regret, hoping songs find a 2nd life for new audiences, and Jebediah's relationship as a band now versus when they first were cutting their teeth and toughening up their finger callouses in Perth in the 90s. And if all that Aussie music nostalgia is hitting just right, make sure to grab tickets to Kevin's 20 year anniversary of Suburban Songbook tour! TOFOP: Coffee vs Tea

This week, Wil introduces Charlie to the controversial concept of "double bagging" his tea to achieve the ultimate heat-and-strength combo. This immediately devolves into a heated debate over whether it is socially acceptable to consume tea and coffee in the same sitting, leading the guys to pitch a blockbuster DreamWorks-style animated film about rival hot beverages starring Florence Pugh, Timothée Chalamet, and a break-out babycino named Grogu. Later, Charlie has an existential moment on the psychologist couch to question whether his family's tendency to focus on the world's depressing news is giving him anxiety, prompting Wil to offer some radical optimism about human connection and people-watching. Plus, producer Elise drops a hypothetical about comfort rewatches versus new TV shows. 00:00 Tea bags, café drinks, and coffee-versus-tea 06:24 Building an animated coffee-versus-tea movie 15:16 Babychino becomes the breakout character 20:35 Turning the idea into a real screen project 25:03 Reimagining the story as an Australian production 29:57 Babychinos, marshmallows, and café culture 34:05 Family conversations, anxiety, and seeing the world negatively 38:06 Finding optimism and staying connected to what matters  47:37 Mindfulness, people-watching, and getting out of your head 50:21 Comfort shows versus always watching something new 55:55 Why context matters more than highlight clips 60:07 Patreon plug and next week’s guest tease 61:44 Post-show wrap-up LINKS Watch clips of the show on Youtube https://bit.ly/ER-youtube and Instagram @everyonerelax https://bit.ly/everyonerelax-ig  Email the show emailtofop@gmail.com Support the show via Patreon at https://bit.ly/ER-patreon Join TOFOP mailing list at the bottom of this page https://everyonerelax.co/?s=mailing+list . WILOSOPHY: Adam Spencer - AI & Maths, The Good The Bad and The Existential

In this mind-expanding episode Wil sits down with long-time friend, author, broadcaster, and bloody great mathematics communicator Adam Spencer to discuss the rapidly shifting landscape where mathematics meets artificial intelligence.  If you're a maths chump, never fear, this is going to be relatively straightforward to follow! Adam breaks down the three pillars of maths, pure, applied, and statistics, before explaining how AI is cracking 50-year-old geometry problems in an hour and threatening the traditionally collaborative nature of mathematical discovery. From the existential fear of unreadable 13-million-line computer proofs to terrifying real-world AI agent breakouts and the ethical challenges of AI-driven drug design, Wil and Adam explore where human intellect fits in a world moving toward superintelligence.
