In the world of Hollywood, movies get green lit and red lit, they get remade and rebooted, but we are the ideal. I'm Sam Gasch, and this Ideal Remake!
Ideal Remake is a podcast about movies. If they're going to get remade, here is what, we think, the Ideal version of that Remake would be!

God of Gamblers
He has the skills to win at absolutely any game of chance. If anyone knows when to hold them or when to fold them, it's him. But he also hates having his pictures taken, so no one knows what he looks like. But they have all heard the legend... of the God of Gamblers!
Dianne Bloom (@DianneBloom on Instagram) returns to introduce Sam to yet another movie that he should have heard of a long time ago. God of Gamblers is a Hong Kong action comedy, relying on the gun-fu that Chow Yun-fat is known for. And it's a lot of fun!
Do Dianne and Sam have what it takes to win big with this episode, or will the house take it all? Listen and find out!

Time Cop
The time has come! And then it went... Oops. Luckily we have time travel, so there's absolutely no reason we can't abuse it for our own personal gain!
Ideal Remake returns for Season Seven and what better way to start than with TIME COP!!
Ian Ager (@IanAger on Instagram) joins the podcast for the first time to talk about this all-timer from Jean Claude Van Damme! Will we have what it takes to get this episode completely right on the first attempt, or will we have to go back and do it again and again until we do? Find out in this week's remake of Time Cop!

It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World
One of the greatest comedies ever made. An absolutely all-star cast that pulls in just about EVERYONE in comedy at the time. And we're going to try and remake it!
Michelle Iannantuono (@Octopunkmedia on the socials) joins the podcast to talk about her all-time favorite movie. And who can blame her? A group of motorists witness an accident and hear the last words of a man telling them where to find incredible wealth. Of course it's a race to see who can get there first!
It's a Mad Mad Mad World is absolutely incredible! And the world is only getting madder!

The Game (1997)
It's 1997 and Michael Douglas is a Wall Street-kind guy. Can you even believe it? But something in his life is missing. And even he, as rich and as powerful as he is, doesn't know what it is. And that's when his little brother comes along with an invitation to play... The Game.
Sean Lavery (@SeanLavery78 on Instagram) joins the podcast for the first time to introduce Sam to this David Fincher thriller. Can Sam handle it? How would they both fair when faced with challenges like this. And, most importantly of all, who do THEY think can handle what CRS has in store?

It Happened One Night
Would you believe that the reason Bugs Bunny is eating a carrot, why we even BELIEVE that rabbits enjoy carrots, is originally based in this movie? Well that's what happens when you're the original screwball comedy! That's what happens when you put together Claudette Colbert and Clark Gable! And That's What Happens... One Night!
It Happened One Night is an incredible piece of our comedic film history! And I had the opportunity to plan out an Ideal Remake with WGA strike captain and all around fountain of joy: Joelle Garfinkel!
Joelle (@Joelle_Garfinkel on Instagram) kept all our spirits up while we were striking at Radford Studios, and she brings that level of hype to this episode. Enjoy!

Customer Reviews
Funny, imaginative, and makes you want to go re-watch and then re-make all your favorites!
Loved the episode on Brewsters Million- especially the comparisons between the existing versions and the dad that knows the worth of money when Brewster may not. But what would have been different with a female lead? Do you think the female perspective and experience would have changed how the $ was approached? The true value of diversity is not how people look on screen it is in the entirely different perspectives they see the world from and how they shape those journeys! Would she have told her best friend and lost everything because the lying was just too much? Would she find herself surrounded by men telling her what she should spend $ on or telling her she was doing it wrong? Would she be accused of getting the money from nefarious acts?
Loved the show!
An Ideal Podcast
Ideal Remake is a cinephile's ideal podcast. The guests on the show are intellegent (and often industry professionals) and the premises and casting they dicuss for their hypothetical remakes often rival or surpass the film reboots that actually make it into theaters. The show is a fascinating creative excercise, and I often find myself inspired to work on my own projects after listening to it. Hitting play on Ideal Remake is like transporting yourself to your smartest friend's living room and listening in as they passionately pitch their best movie ideas. Sam is an awesome host, and does a great job threading the needle between entertainment, ideation, representation, and recreation. Rated 5 stars because that's the maximum number of stars.
Such a Fun Time
A great concept that is truly so much fun to listen to.
