    ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਮੇਰਾ ਲਾਗੋ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਹੇਤੁ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਾਈ ਜਿਨਿ ਦੁਖ ਕਾ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਕੇਤੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਸਗਲ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਕਾਲੇ ਕੀਨੇ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਹੋਆ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੨॥੧੭॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਬੋਦੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਾਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਹੀ ਕੱਟ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) , ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਭੀ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ-ਦਰਦ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਪ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਲਕ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਪ) ਰਾਖਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਗਾ ਕੇ, ਤੇ, ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣ ਕੇ (ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਕਲੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।੧੭। DHANAASAREE, FIFTH MEHL: I have fallen in love with the Lord. My True Guru is always my help and support; He has torn down the banner of pain. || 1 || Pause || Giving me His hand, He has protected me as His own, and removed all my troubles. He has blackened the faces of the slanderers, and He Himself has become the help and support of His humble servant. || 1 || The True Lord and Master has become my Saviour; hugging me close in His embrace, He has saved me. Nanak has become fearless, and he enjoys eternal peace, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. || 2 || 17 ||

    ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਘਰੁ ੧ ਚਉਪਦੇ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ਮੇਰੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਰਤਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਾਥੁ ਧਰਿਓ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਾਥਾ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਉਤਰੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਰਿਨੁ ਲਾਥਾ ॥੧॥ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਭਿ ਅਰਥਾ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੂੜ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਫਾਥਾ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਨ ਸੇਵੇ ਕਬਹੂ ਤਿਨ ਸਭੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਥਾ ॥੨॥ ਜਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਫਲਿਓ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਨਾਥਾ ॥ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਦਾਸੁ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਜਗੰਨਾਥਾ ॥੩॥ ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਗਿਆਨਹੀਨ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਿਉ ਚਾਲਹ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪੰਥਾ ॥ ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਚਲੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਲਹ ਮਿਲੰਥਾ ॥੪॥੧॥  ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ (ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ) । (ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੱਕਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰਤਨ (ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ) ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰੋਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ) ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਉਤਰ ਗਿਆ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੋਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਖਸਮ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ।੩। ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਅਸੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੰਨਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਫੜਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਸਕੀਏ।੪।੧। JAITSREE, FOURTH MEHL, FIRST HOUSE, CHAU-PADAS: ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU: The Jewel of the Lord’s Name abides within my heart; the Guru has placed His hand on my forehead. The sins and pains of countless incarnations have been cast out. The Guru has blessed me with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and my debt has been paid off. || 1 || O my mind, vibrate the Lord’s Name, and all your affairs shall be resolved. The Perfect Guru has implanted the Lord’s Name within me; without the Name, life is useless. || Pause || Without the Guru, the self-willed manmukhs are foolish and ignorant; they are forever entangled in emotional attachment to Maya. They never serve the feet of the Holy; their lives are totally useless. || 2 || Those who serve at the feet of the Holy, the feet of the Holy, their lives are made fruitful, and they belong to the Lord. Make me the slave of the slave of the slaves of the Lord; bless me with Your Mercy, O Lord of the Universe. || 3 || I am blind, ignorant and totally without wisdom; how can I walk on the Path? I am blind — O Guru, please let me grasp the hem of Your robe, so that servant Nanak may walk in harmony with You. || 4 || 1

    ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਤਉ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੰਤੁ ਮਨਾਇ ॥ ਮਤੁ ਸੇਜੈ ਕੰਤੁ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਏਵੈ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਪਿਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਤਉ ਬਣਿਆ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ॥ ਕੀਆ ਤਉ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਜਾ ਸਹੁ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ ਭਉ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਤਬੋਲ ਰਸੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਕਰੇਇ ॥ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਉਪੇ ਕੰਤ ਕਉ ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੋਗੁ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੧॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ! ਤਦੋਂ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਣਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਖਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰ ਲਏਂ, (ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ) ਮਤਾਂ ਖਸਮ ਸੇਜ ਤੇ ਆਵੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਹ ਤੇ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਐਵੇਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਏ। ਹੇ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ! ਜੇ ਖਸਮ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮੰਨ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਸਮਝ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਖਸਮ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰੇ।ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਡਰ (ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ) ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਨ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਬਣਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰ) ਬਣਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਕਾਜਲ ਫੂਲ ਤੰਬੋਲ ਰਸੁ ਲੇ ਧਨ ਕੀਆ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ॥ ਸੇਜੈ ਕੰਤੁ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਏਵੈ ਭਇਆ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥ ਅਰਥ: ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਸੁਰਮਾ, ਫੁੱਲ ਤੇ ਪਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ, (ਪਰ ਜੇ) ਖਸਮ ਸੇਜ ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਸਗੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਇਹ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ) ।੨।ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਧਨ ਪਿਰੁ ਏਹਿ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਨਿ ਬਹਨਿ ਇਕਠੇ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਏਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਧਨ ਪਿਰੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥ ਅਰਥ: ਜੋ (ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ) ਰਲ ਕੇ ਬਹਿਣ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਲ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਖਸਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖੀਦਾ; ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਜਿਸਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇੱਕੋ ਆਤਮਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਪਤੀ।੩।ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਭੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਾਮਿ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਭਉ ਊਪਜੈ ਭੈ ਭਾਇ ਰੰਗੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਤਾ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਾਰਿ ॥ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥ ਭਉ ਭਾਉ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਦਾ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥੯॥ ਅਰਥ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਡਰ (ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦਾ) ; ਇਹ ਡਰ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲੇ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਡਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ) ਰੰਗ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ।(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਨਾਲ) ਹਉਮੈ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ) ਰੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ; ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।ਇਹ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ (ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਮਿਲਦਾ) ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।੯।Shalok, Third Mehl:O bride, decorate yourself, after you surrender and accept your Husband Lord.Otherwise, your Husband Lord will not come to your bed, and your ornaments will be useless.O bride, your decorations will adorn you, only when your Husband Lord's Mind is pleased.Your ornaments will be acceptable and approved, only when your Husband Lord loves you.So make the Fear of God your ornaments, joy your betel nuts to chew, and love your food.Surrender your body and mind to your Husband Lord, and then, O Nanak, He will enjoy you. ||1||Third Mehl:The wife takes flowers, and fragrance of betel, and decorates herself.But her Husband Lord does not come to her bed, and so these efforts are useless. ||2|lThird Mehl:They are not said to be husband and wife, who merely sit together.They alone are called husband and wife, who have one light in two bodies. ||3||Pauree:Without the Fear of God, there is no devotional worship, and no love for the Naam, the Name of the Lord.Meeting with the True Guru, the Fear of God wells up, and one is embellished with the Fear and the Love of God.When the body and mind are imbued with the Lord's Love, egotism and desire are conquered and subdued.The mind and body become immaculately pure and very beautiful, when one meets the Lord, the Destroyer of egoFear and love all belong to Him; He is the True Lord, permeating and pervading the Universe. ||9||

    ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਘਰੁ ੧  ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਖਾਇਆ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਸੋਇਆ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਕਾਪੜੁਅੰਗਿ ਚੜਾਇਆ ॥ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਹਿਤ ਸਿਉ ਜਿਤੁ ਹੁਣਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਪਉੜੀ ਛੁੜਕੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਨਆਵੈ ਅਹਿਲਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਨ ਦੇਈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗਣਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ॥ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਦਾਤਾ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਤੈ ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਤੂ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਕਿਆਏਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ॥ ਮੁਕਤ ਬੰਧ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਐਸਾ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੇ ॥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੰਧਵਿਚਾਰੇ ॥੨॥ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲੇ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਗਹਣ ਗਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਸਚੈਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੇ ਸਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਨਾ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਰੇ ॥੩॥ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁਪਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲੇ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਾਲਹਿ ਮਾਰਿਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥  ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਣੇ) ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਤੂੰ (ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਸ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, (ਨੱਕ ਕੰਨ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਰੇ) ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ। (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਖਾਣਾਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਸੌਣਾ (ਸੁਖ-ਆਰਾਮ) ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਸਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਪਹਿਨਣਾ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ। (ਹੇਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਲਈ ਪੌੜੀ ਹੈ) ਜੇ ਇਹ ਪੌੜੀ (ਹੱਥੋਂ) ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਮੁੜ ਹੱਥਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਬੜਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਗਵਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈਂ, ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ) ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ(ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ) ਇਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ। ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਕਈ ਜੀਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਈ ਜੀਵ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ-ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸਮਝਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੨। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ। ਥਿਰਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਹੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚਡੁੱਬੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਉਹ ਨਾਹ ਉਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਜੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਜੋਗੇ।੩। (ਪਰ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ (ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਭੀ, ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੧। ਨੋਟ: ਮ: ੩ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੈ। ਵੇਖੋ ਅਖ਼ੀਰਲਾ ਅੰਕ ੧।

    ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਜਿਓ ਪੁਰਖੋਤਮੁ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਦਾਲਦ ਦਲਘਾ ॥ ਭਉ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣਾ ਮੇਟਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਮਘਾ ॥੧॥ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਅਤਿ ਪਿਰਘਾ ॥ ਮੈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪਿ ਧਰਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਸਿਰੁ ਵੇਚਿ ਲੀਓ ਮੁਲਿ ਮਹਘਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਨਰਪਤਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਪਕੜਿ ਖੜੇ ਸਭਿ ਕਲਘਾ ॥ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਸਿਰਿ ਡੰਡੁ ਲਗਾਨਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੇ ਹਥ ਫਲਘਾ ॥੨॥ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਜਨ ਕਿਰਮ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਲਘਾ ॥ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸੰਤ ਦੇਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲੋਚ ਪੂਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਤੁਮਘਾ ॥੩॥ ਤੁਮ ਸਮਰਥ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਘਾ ॥ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਹਮ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਸਦ ਘੁਮਘਾ ॥੪॥੨॥ SOOHEE, FOURTH MEHL:I chant and vibrate the Name of the Lord God, the Supreme Being, Har, Har; my poverty and problems have all been eradicated. The fear of birth and death has been erased, through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad; serving the Unmoving, Unchanging Lord, I am absorbed in peace. || 1 || O my mind, vibrate the Name of the most Beloved, Darling Lord. I have dedicated my mind and body, and placed them in offering before the Guru; I have sold my head to the Guru, for a very dear price. || 1 || Pause || The kings and the rulers of men enjoy pleasures and delights, but without the Name of the Lord, death seizes and dispatches them all. The Righteous Judge of Dharma strikes them over the heads with his staff, and when the fruits of their actions come into their hands, then they regret and repent. || 2 || Save me, save me, Lord; I am Your humble servant, a mere worm. I seek the Protection of Your Sanctuary, O Primal Lord, Cherisher and Nourisher. Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of the Saint’s Darshan, that I may find peace. O God, please fulfill the desires of Your humble servant. || 3 || You are the All-powerful, Great, Primal God, my Lord and Master. O Lord, please bless me with the gift of humility. Servant Nanak has found the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and is at peace; I am forever a sacrifice to the Naam. || 4 || 2 ||ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਅੱਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਮਹਿੰਗੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਮੈਂ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਇਵਜ਼ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ) ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹਰੀ ਉੱਤਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਰਿੱਦ੍ਰ, ਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਭੀ ਮੁਕਾ ਲਿਆ। ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਡੰਡਾ ਵੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਪਛਤਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ (ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ) ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਵ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ, ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ, ਇਸ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ (ਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦਾਸ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ।੩।ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-) ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ।੪।੨।

    People try to deceive others, but the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything.

    ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੈ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਡਹਕਾਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ ਪਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਭੇਖ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰਿ ॥ ਉਤ ਤਾਕੈ ਉਤ ਤੇ ਉਤ ਪੇਖੈ ਆਵੈ ਲੋਭੀ ਫੇਰਿ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤੁਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨ ਭਰਮਾ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥੫॥੩੬॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ (ਲਾਲਚੀ ਪਖੰਡੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ) ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਧਰ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਰਕਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁੱਕਰ ਭੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਇਹ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-(ਪਹਿਰਾਵਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ।੨।੫।੩੬।DHANAASAREE, FIFTH MEHL:People try to deceive others, but the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything. They commit sins, and then deny them, while they pretend to be in Nirvaanaa. || 1 || They believe that You are far away, but You, O God, are near at hand. Looking around, this way and that, the greedy people come and go. || Pause || As long as the doubts of the mind are not removed, liberation is not found. Says Nanak, he alone is a Saint, a devotee, and a humble servant of the Lord, to whom the Lord and Master is merciful. || 2 || 5 || 36 ||

    ਸਲੋਕ ॥ ਰਾਜ ਕਪਟੰ ਰੂਪ ਕਪਟੰ ਧਨ ਕਪਟੰ ਕੁਲ ਗਰਬਤਹ ॥ ਸੰਚੰਤਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਛਲੰ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਪੇਖੰਦੜੋ ਕੀ ਭੁਲੁ ਤੁੰਮਾ ਦਿਸਮੁ ਸੋਹਣਾ ॥ ਅਢੁ ਨ ਲਹੰਦੜੋ ਮੁਲੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਜੁਲਈ ਮਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਚਲਦਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਚਲੈ ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਸੰਜੀਐ ॥ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਆ ਜਤਨੁ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਵੰਜੀਐ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਿਐ ਕਿਉ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ਨਾ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਜੀਐ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਛੋਡਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਨਰਕਿ ਸਮੰਜੀਐ ॥ ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਉ ਭੰਜੀਐ ॥੧੦॥ ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹ ਰਾਜ ਰੂਪ ਧਨ ਤੇ (ਉੱਚੀ) ਕੁਲ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ-ਸਭ ਛਲ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ। ਜੀਵ ਛਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਲਾ ਲਾ ਕੇ (ਕਈ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਮਾਇਆ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਏਥੋਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।੨।ਤੁੰਮਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਦਿੱਸਿਆ। ਕੀ ਇਹ ਉਕਾਈ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ? ਇਸ ਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਅੱਧੀ ਕੌਡੀ ਭੀ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹੀ ਹਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਭਾ ਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਭੀ ਕੌਡੀ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਏਥੋਂ ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ) ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।੨।ਉਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ, ਜੋ (ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ) ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਦੱਸੋ ਕੀਹ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ? ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆਂ (ਨਿਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ) ਰੱਜੀਦਾ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ, ਦਇਆ ਕਰ, ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਹ।੧੦।SHALOK:Power is fraudulent, beauty is fraudulent, and wealth is fraudulent, as is pride of ancestry. One may gather poison through deception and fraud, O Nanak, but without the Lord, nothing shall go along with him in the end. || 1 || Beholding the bitter melon, he is deceived, since it appears so pretty. But it is not worth even a shell, O Nanak; the riches of Maya will not go along with anyone. || 2 || PAUREE: It shall not go along with you when you depart — why do you bother to collect it? Tell me, why do you try so hard to acquire that which you must leave behind in the end? Forgetting the Lord, how can you be satisfied? Your mind cannot be pleased. One who forsakes God, and attaches himself to another, shall be immersed in hell. Be kind and compassionate to Nanak, O Lord, and dispel his fear. || 10 ||

    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਰਾਗੁ ਸੂਹੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਜੀ ਕੀ ॥ ਤਪਿ ਤਪਿ ਲੁਹਿ ਲੁਹਿ ਹਾਥ ਮਰੋਰਉ ॥ ਬਾਵਲਿ ਹੋਈ ਸੋ ਸਹੁ ਲੋਰਉ ॥ ਤੈ ਸਹਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਕੀਆ ਰੋਸੁ ॥ ਮੁਝੁ ਅਵਗਨ ਸਹ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੋਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਤੈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੀ ਮੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਖੋਇ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਕਾਲੀ ਕੋਇਲ ਤੂ ਕਿਤ ਗੁਨ ਕਾਲੀ ॥ ਅਪਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕੇ ਹਉ ਬਿਰਹੈ ਜਾਲੀ ॥ ਪਿਰਹਿ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਕਤਹਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ ਜਾ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੨॥ ਵਿਧਣ ਖੂਹੀ ਮੁੰਧ ਇਕੇਲੀ ॥ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਸਾਥੀ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਬੇਲੀ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਲੀ ॥ ਜਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਲਹੁ ਬੇਲੀ ॥੩॥ ਵਾਟ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਖਰੀ ਉਡੀਣੀ ॥ ਖੰਨਿਅਹੁ ਤਿਖੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਿਈਣੀ ॥ ਉਸੁ ਊਪਰਿ ਹੈ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥ ਸੇਖ ਫਰੀਦਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਿ ਸਵੇਰਾ ॥੪॥੧॥ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਿਕ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਦਰ ਨਾ ਜਾਤੀ, ਜੁਆਨੀ ਦਾ ਵੇਲਾ ਗਵਾ ਕੇ ਹੁਣ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਝੁਰ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ।ਰਹਾਉ। ਬੜੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਬੜੀ ਤੜਫ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਹੱਥ ਮਲ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ, ਤੇ ਝੱਲੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਖਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ (ਮੇਰੀ ਇਸ ਭੈੜੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਬਾਰੇ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਔਗੁਣ ਸਨ, ਤਾਹੀਏਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰੋਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ।੧। (ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਕੋਇਲ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਦੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ-) ਹੇ ਕਾਲੀ ਕੋਇਲ! ਭਲਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਰੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਹਾਂ ਹੀ) ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਾਲੀ (ਹੋ ਗਈ) ਹੈਂ? (ਕੋਇਲ ਭੀ ਇਹੀ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਨੇ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। (ਠੀਕ ਹੈ) ਖਸਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਸੁਖ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ? (ਪਰ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ) ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਇਸ ਜਗਤ-ਰੂਪ) ਡਰਾਉਣੀ ਖੂਹੀ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਇਕੱਲੀ (ਡਿੱਗੀ ਪਈ ਸਾਂ, ਇਥੇ) ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ (ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਹੁਣ ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ) ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਰੱਬ ਬੇਲੀ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।੩। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਸਾਡਾ ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨ-ਪੰਧ ਬੜਾ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਹੈ, ਖੰਡੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤਿੱਖਾ ਹੈ, ਬੜੀ ਤੇਜ਼ ਧਾਰ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਦੇ ਉਤੋਂ ਦੀ ਅਸਾਂ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਹੇ ਫਰੀਦ! ਸਵੇਰੇ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਰਸਤਾ ਸੰਭਾਲ।੪।੧। O my lord! I didn't appreciate you, I lost the time of youth and now I am falling behind. Stay. I am now wringing my hands in great pain, in great agony, and now I am wandering around looking for that person. O Lord of Khasam! You have no fault (about this bad condition of mine), I only had flaws, so you were angry with me in your heart. (Now I keep asking the cuckoo-) O black cuckoo!
