I'm a Mom?!

Jenny Pan

Becoming a mom is the single most transformative experience a woman could go through. This is a podcast that I wish I heard when I got pregnant. We talk about how priorities, finances, values, and lifestyle, change - a lot. At least, it did for me. I am not your typical blonde, blue-eyed, fit, young, mormon mom influencer with 5+ kids (I just have 2), so maybe you can relate to me a little more....! This is a real, raw, and relevant podcast for moms everywhere to be encouraged, feel seen, informed, and have some laughs on the way!

Why Oral Health Matters for Postpartum Moms, Busting Myths, and Finding Wellness with Holistic Dentist Dr. Spelman

*The advice and information shared on this episode should not be considered medical advice. Please consult your own medical providers for medical advice* "IF YOU IGNORE YOUR TEETH LONG ENOUGH, THEY WILL GO AWAY" Join me on the crunchiest conversation yet with Dr Chris Spelman DDS on why postpartum moms especially, need to get back to a good state of oral health, build our overall health back again, and find wellness. Critical Notes on this Episode: Top 4 things for postpartum moms Inside out first. Get access to bioavailable and bioretention-heavy supplements and multivitamins. Omegas, electrolytes etc. Designs for Health brand and also the DoTerra brand provide high quality products. Good oral health routine: floss first; brush with a non-fluoride toothpaste with hydroxyapatite; DO NOT RINSE the toothpaste off. Try for 30mins. Dr Spelman uses a water-powered floss; Sonicare electrical toothbrush with a bamboo brush head made of charcoal and coconut oil from Amazon. Watch what you eat and drink. NO COFFEE SIPPING FOR HOURS. COFFEE IS ACIDIC and we want our mouths to get back to a neutral pH faster, and for longer. STOP SNACKING, SIPPING SUGARY AND PROCESSED FOODS CONSISTENTLY AS THIS MAKES OUR MOUTHS ACIDIC FOR 2-3 HOURS. STAY AWAY FROM PROCESSED FOOD. Sorry about the all caps. This is just super important.Gut/probiotics: The KKK: Kimchi, Kombucha, Kefir. Dr Spelman takes a Kimchi 1 supplement at the moment. DoTerra also makes a great probiotic. Other products/tips mentioned: Detox/gut cleanse/total body cleanse with DoTerra’s 1-month long cleanse is very gentle.  Xylitol and hydroxyapatite chewing gums after a meal can actually help your mouth return to a good pH level. DO NOT BRUSH TEETH IMMEDIATELY AFTER MEALS! You could be brushing the acidic meal right into your teeth. JUST rinse your mouth thoroughly with water.  Lastly: **I know my opinions on religion and politics in particular are loud, conservative, and can be offensive to some.
