    The Whole Damn Hive: Candyman

    The Whole Damn Hive: Candyman

Closing out Season 2 with a discussion of Candymen past and present. Esha finally convinced Kristen to do a horror movie or 2 for October, and they're discussing Bernard Rose's 1992 Iconic film and the 2021 released Nia DaCosta Candyman creation. There's a lot to be said about both films, the sweet for the sweet and the not so sweet.

We added some breaks, planned and unplanned, so join the sisters as they dive in one final time for 2021. Make sure to cover your mirrors and stop after the 3rd Candyman...cause nobody got time for an extra roommate who doesn't pay rent.

    I Want My Life Back

    I Want My Life Back

It's October and the INAPC sisters are back to pay homage to a history of black horror. This time we reference the 2019 documentary Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror based on the 2011 non-fiction book Horror Noire: Blacks in American Horror Films from the 1890s to Present by Robin R. Means Coleman, PhD. From the 1915 film The Birth of a Nation to the present, the relationship between black Americans and the horror genre has been a roller coaster. So strap in for a ride! You don't want to miss it.

A Discussion Between Robots: Who is the Hero's Journey For?

A Discussion Between Robots: Who is the Hero's Journey For?

**Disclaimer - we think we figured out why we get the robotic distortion. Apologies in advance as we transform into robots ~12mi mark. We hope to have now solved this problem...and maybe one day, we will rerecord this...but would it ever be as good as the original?**

It's September and we're wondering  -can we be the heroes of our own journies? Both lived and in the fictitious world. Kris and Esha discuss Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey and how it pertains to people of the global majority. The discussion is worth the robots in disguise, we promise. Hang in there kitty - cause that's what we're doing.

    Mind Mover

The world loves superheroes, and so do we at INAPC! Raising them...not so much. Have you ever wondered what it'd be like though? Dennis Liu did, leading to the creation of the 2015 comic book Raising Dion and a short film of the same name. Wait, it gets better! In 2019 Netflix made a 9 episode series based on the comic and short film with a second season coming soon. Tune in as Kristen and Esha discuss Nicole Warren's (Dion's mom) and others experiences with the trials and triumphs of raising not only a good kid, but someone who has the power to become a true superhero.

Umilikechipss ,

I Loove this podcast!!!!

Hey gorgeous ppl reading this... this podcast is awesome. Eisha and Kris are so funny and smart. I love horror and Sci-fi and I came over here from the losers club (Eisha is one of my favorites on that show) I love the break down of complex important issues involving race or the lack of diversity in my favorite genres. IM SO HAPPY I have this as a resource to find new and interesting writing that is not as main stream. Thank you ladies! Keep up the great work!!! 💜✨🦋💕😎
