In this episode of Imaginal Roots, we get to know Ogdensburg native and nature lover Hannah Butkiewicz. Hannah grew up with a deep appreciation of nature and her experiences working with wildlife at a young age guided her to a degree in wildlife and forest ecology.

Hannah is the Executive Director of Golden Sands Resource Conservation and Development Council. Hannah shares her desire to make the world a better place, her curiosity that drives her love of research, her passion for conservation and her interest in building community and collaboration in Central Wisconsin.

Today on Imaginal Roots we are learning about the art and creativity of jade lapidary artist Shane Zach. Shane discovered his love of carving and jade through the process of learning bone carving and his appreciation of Maori carving, art and culture. We explore Shane's passion for jade and we learn more about jade, Shane's travels to find jade and how he discovers what a piece of jade will be transformed in a finished carving.
