Ep. 09: The tribulations of a food lover

Meet Nick B. one of the lads in the 2014 lot, arriving in Canada with Horea and I. Nick loves to travel, loves food, been living on 3 continents so far, maybe 4 if we count that time when he spent a few weeks in Australia, visiting family. He spent a few years in Canada, went back home to Romania but never unpacked truly as his travel bug kept him going. Then work and his adventurous spirit took him to Asia, to an office with a view toward Petronas towers in Kuala Lumpur. He met his "partner in crime" there, married her and he's now living semi-permanently as an ex-pat in Malaysia. But the coolest thing about Nick is that probably his love for food and life might not have him settle there. Yet. He might not be done with the bug. Fabiana (or Fabi how we call her) made her first steps in Canada over 18 years ago. She first landed in Vancouver and as far as we can tell she really liked it there. However, approximately 4 years later she made her way back to Canada, home, as she calls it; here, in Toronto. Fabi lives here for 14 years and she has an absolutely amazing immigrant story with ups and downs like us all but she only mentions the positive aspects, being the fun, positive person she is. Oh, we didn't mention, she comes from São Paulo, that's in Brazil so this week we stay in Latin America still, in terms of our guests. Ep. 04: Fred Franco, Mexico

Fred F.P. landed here (Canada) in the fall of '97 when he was only 9 years old. He's lived more years in Canada than he did in his natal country, Mexico. We've walked down his memory lane today, digging through what he remembers from his first days in his adoptive country, his highschool years, growing up into the man he is today. He defines Canada as "best" and he's one of those guys that would start a party and energize a whole crowd just by his sole presence and dance moves. He is our immigrant story for this episode.
